Today being the most recent price increase - Tacos which were $2 each are now $3. Chips & Salsa - extra $1.50. I ordered 2 chicken tacos, small drink, chips & salsa = $11.00 (used to pay $6.50 previously) Several other options in the area which is more affordable. Avg lunch by my math = $12 + per person (drink + chips). I will not be repeating. read more

I've been dining at Susi's since they first opened several years ago. The restaurant is family owned and operated and the owners know their customers pretty well. My order is sometimes known by the workers before I can even place it. The food is more of a San Diego Mexican flair from my knowledge but it's pretty solid. My favorites are the fish tacos and fish salad on my healthy days... Otherwise, I may indulge on a shrimp quesadilla, chicken chimichanga or loaded burrito if I'm feeling naughty. It is always fun to stumble on a great lunch spot in an area of nothing more than warehouses, convenience stores and fast food. This little taco grill is a gem! The staff comes from Southern Calli and the food is what you would expect from an LA taco stand. The ingredients are very fresh and while the menu is not huge it has all the basics plus a little more. The first trip in was to grab a couple of soft chicken tacos to go. The ingredients were well spiced and fresh, maybe a little to much sour cream but all together good. It came with a bag of chips which were a little stale and some of the best salsa I have ever had. I was in the area the next day and returned to try a burrito. I ordered the green chili beef burrito and was very happy! Again the chip were a little stale but the rest of the order made up for it. Don't expect a highly decorated environment, this is your typical strip center restaurant, order at the window, bus your own table kind of place. So I stumbled onto to this place earlier this week while out looking for good Mexican food. Although I live completely on the opposite side of town the reviews peaked my interest. When I arrived it was shortly after 7pm and there was no one dining in. So the first thing I look for is the recorded health rating score, which they are above 95% and cleanliness of the place. The guy that was working was actually sitting down eating dinner, which I appreciated. Whenever I go to a place I love to see the person actually eating the food that they serve. We ordered the kids mini burrito with chicken, pulled pork taco, grilled chicken soft taco with beans and rice and an order of queso. The chips and salsa were fresh and the best salsa we have had this year. It was home made and you can tell probably something they took great pride in. The chips were fresh, although a few previous post indicated that they were stale. The queso was the only thing that we felt could use major improvement because it just did not have a particular taste. The timing was great and quick and the price was decent so we knew that we would return which brings me to visit #2, which was 2 days later. So again I went all the way across time but arrived around 6pm, again no customers were dining in. The older guy that was there the other night greeted us and there was a younger girl who took our order. We decided to try the grilled pork taco and chicken enchilada with beans and rice, another mini kids burrito with chicken and rice. This time I had to pump the brakes on the chips. They were COLD and looked sooooooo dry. When I asked if they had fresh chips that were hot, the older man said he could put them in the microwave!!! HUH !!!!!!!!!!! but ummm ok so I took that as an answer but quickly made mental note. The food was made quickly just as it was before and yet again it was good. This time though since we are really big Mexican authentic lovers, we left full but not as elated as the first visit. I know that I will be back but they need to step it up and not serve old, cold chips or offer to microwave food. I can not eat food that is warmed up in the microwave so I did not even try the chips but if I have any thought that the rest of my food is reheated then I will not return here. My digestive system is very sensitive and to drive all the way across town only to get sick, will not be cool for me or good for them. Overall they need to get that handled and they will have a loyal customer for life. read more

I actuallly go here for lunch at least once a week. I love this place. I've tried most things on the menu except the tongue *might try it today* My favorite are the Tortas. The bread for this sandwich is the best. I love the salsa. Everything is made fresh to order and you can stand there and watch them make it. I've never wrote a review before, but I'm pretty certain the beef I just ate at this place was spoiled. I ordered a speedy gonzalez and initially asked for chicken, but changed to beef (bad idea). When I bit in to my burrito I told everyone at the table that it had a weird tangy taste but I brushed it off as the seasoning. Half way through I couldn't stand it any longer and decided I was done eating. I asked my co-worker to taste a tiny bite of my taco with the beef and she immediately said, "thats' sour". The food was alright not at all what I expected it the beans were too greasy but good , the tacos you would have to squeeze a bit as to get the excess out oil out. This place is absolutely ridiculous! I paid exactly 14.23 for 2 steak tacos, overcooked rice and beans. That's a price for a 5 star sit down and be served restaurant. The steak had hard fat pieces and didn't even enjoy Ang. They guy working has a decent attitude but girl up front is snotty.
