I wish I could give Swami Property Management zero stars. They charge high rent and fees but provide very poor service. My property manager, Claudia, was unresponsive, rude, and difficult to communicate with. Maintenance issues were not handled properly, and we often felt that tenants were charged instead of being helped. The lack of communication and poor management made living there extremely stressful, and we moved out after only one year. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Swami Property Management. If you are looking for a flea and roach infested apartment with completely negligent management, then this is the place for you. This property management company has been one of the most unprofessional and stressful companies my mother has ever dealt with. The conditions of this property have continued to decline because management allows disrespectful and disruptive tenants to move in without addressing the problems they bring to the community. The building has ongoing pest issues, including fleas which have made living conditions unbearable and sent my mother to the hospital. When my mother brought this issue up to Charu Badhwar and Beatrice Williams and inquired if the unit had been exterminated, the only thing Charu suggested was to get flea spray from the store. My mother had to go to the hospital due to this issue they were very unprofessional and rude. ( we do not have any pets nor have had any) My mother has experienced multiple serious issues while living here. She was verbally assaulted on the property, and despite several attempts to ask management to intervene and speak with the tenant responsible, her concerns were repeatedly ignored. No resident should feel unsafe or unheard in their own home, especially when management is fully aware of the situation. To make matters worse, management is extremely slow when it comes to maintenance and security concerns. The mailboxes were broken into, and instead of acting urgently, they took months to properly address the issue. During that time, my mother was unable to reliably receive important mail. This level of negligence is unacceptable. The noise issues are also out of control. Tenants on the upper floors are allowed to stomp, jump, and create constant disturbances at all hours without consequence, making it nearly impossible for downstairs residents to live peacefully. Management does nothing to enforce basic respect or community standards. What is most disturbing is that this company has also ignored incidents involving verbal harassment toward individuals with special needs. Allowing this kind of behavior to continue unchecked speaks volumes about the lack of care, compassion, and professionalism within this management company. Overall, this company has caused my mother an incredible amount of emotional stress, frustration, and anxiety. Instead of creating a safe and comfortable living environment, they have allowed the property to become chaotic, unsanitary, and unsafe. My spouse I lived in one of their properties from 2023-2024. LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS. The property was a garage converted into an ADU, brand new, and the cheapest possible quality materials imaginable. We had SO many issues with the place. There were literal screws sticking out of the counter that had to be sanded down, the toilet and bathtub clogged regularly (think raw sewage bubbling out into the bathtub on several occasions), the air conditioning unit wasn't set up correctly and leaked water all over the floors, the floors themselves were installed improperly and were bunching up all throughout the house, honestly the list goes on and on. I've rented from some low places in my early years but this place is the absolute WORST they take months to do service requests fight and threaten you when you ask for simplest things to be fixed. Our ceiling collapsed in our bedroom and it took 9 days to fix the whole time they dodged calls, emails literally every form of communication. If you put in service requests they will just mark them "completed" when nothing has been done. Informed them of termite damage in our hall way window they didn't do anything till I put in a seperate request warning them that if after 2 months of nothing if it turned into flying termites in my home I would be pissed and they sent someone out the next day. There is huge turn over in my building, people breaking there leases to get out of here. I put in a request over two months for an outlet that exploded in my hand, my bathroom tile isn't even meant for indoors and is disintegrating. I call every week even corporate with no assistance. I honestly would not give ANY STARS for this property management because they do not care about their tenants at all. They are very good at communicating when it comes to leasing out a new unit or collecting the monthly rent but if you have any issues or maintenance issues once you are staying at your apartment it will take them months to respond to you. As a business, I find it very rude to not respond to your "clients" in a timely manner. If you see any property with the Swami International sign. THIS IS YOUR WARNING to not lease with them. I know that renting in L.A is hard but save yourself a long term headache by doing more apartment hunting and finding a better company. Their customer service skills are off- they are not helpful in resolving issues, do not communicate well internally and do not respond quickly. When I moved, the office had not communicated with the owner and the apt was not ready for move-in, the security deposit was not correct and the paperwork was done incorrectly on their end. I ended up having to move in a month after the original agreed upon move-in date. The apartment was not completely ready but I had not other choice because I terminated the other lease I had going. They will be nice and helpful when you are first trying to get a place, making sure to lure you in but once you sign those papers it all goes downhill. They do not respond to maintenance requests, do crappy jobs if they do and are not good at managing the actual properties. If you have issues with parking or neighbors - good luck! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS MANAGEMENT!!! Constant increase in rent over the years and HORRIBLE communication when it comes to damages that needs to be fixed but ignored. STORY TIME: We have had multiple leaks in our apartment from the rain back in March/2019. I've emailed and even called to place a work order for someone to come and repair the issue. However, the only thing the person answering phone calls can do is take notes and "summit" a work order. They do not tell you when the technician is free or any estimated time that the issue can be resolved. The person on the phone is rude and kept repeating that she has no "control" of the technicians schedule. As a tenant how would that make you feel? The maintenance department is a joke. I have been without an oven since March and it is now June and still no one has come to repair it! They don't respond to emails and I have never received a call back for follow up after my multiple calls. It's like they are reading from a script when you call for updates. Not sure what happens here, but seems like they just have people apply for places, take their app money, then tell then no you are not approved. Applied for a place here and they claim my credit did not meet their requirements... I know damn well my credit is over 600 or I would not have even wasted my time. So when I asked to speak to a manger, front desk lady said she would have the manger call me.... that never happened. I asked her to please send me my credit report, I even went as far as calling the "company" who ran the credit report for them..... still have yet to receive an official credit report from Swami or the credit company. Issa scam if you ask me... so yeah they took my app money and my dad's app money and that was that. Then said we were not approved... and showed no real reason why were were not approved.... should have listened to reviews that were already here. SMH. read more

It is hit, or miss to get things done with them, there are numerous maintenance and other issues that I can discuss, but I do not have enough characters, I am at my limit with Swami. I Sent an email to get a matter resolved and resolve issues. the almost never respond. Charu Badhwar, please DO NOT get her to respond, when she does, always days later, this lady is notorious for having an attitude, she recently told us she has a life and can not tie up her time with 'this stuff'. she literally goes back and forth with you about issues they need to resolve. She needs to be let go. They need to overhaul their situation, no wonder they are a 2 star company, but they don't care, they are not doing anything about it. There were multiple times where I've called for general repairs (e.g. running hot water, sink clogged, etc...) and it would take them at least 2 weeks to send somebody to even take a look at the issue. Their property manager Char, is not professional at all. Never responds to either calls, email, or text messages. Lastly, the neighborhoods where their properties are located are NOT safe. Update 9/26/2020: the issues have been addressed and resolved by Swami eventually. They came and fixed all the issues in the bedrooms and our bathroom. However the fix in the bathroom was just a temporary fix since the technician suggested to the replace the whole cast iron bathtub which had been very old. We will see how that follow up will turn out at the end. We updated the rating from 2 to 4 due to the fact that even though the issues were resolved, they had been delayed for more than a month with us constantly calling in to check up on the work status weekly. 9/21/2020 - We have been renting from this company for more than 10 years, and we pay on time monthly. Recently we requested some maintenance at our apartment (one of the bedrooms and our bathroom) more than a month ago. Nobody has not shown up to take a look at our apartment yet. I called 5 times to follow up, and they kept saying they would put "a note" in the system for the follow up. They could put as many notes at they wanted in the system, but it was so useless when nobody took a look at them, especially the maintenance person from their company. I called the front office during my 4th call, and it was a Monday; and they said someone would come between now and Friday. Today is Friday, and it's 3.15pm and again nobody showed. I called the office for the 5th follow up, and nobody responded. BTW the titles started coming out in our bathroom while waiting for them to show up and fix the damn problem.
