The avocado wasn't fresh and the home-fry potatoes tasted like they were from Denny's. My friends speak very highly of the Encinitas location, so I was eager to try out the Carlsbad location. I had fish tacos and my husband had pistachio encrusted mahi mahi. I was a little worried because it was 8:30pm and there wasn't anybody else there which kind of took away from the ambience. This may be why I am giving it 4 stars and not 5. But when the food came we were pleasantly surprised. So I had heard many good things about Swamis and finally decided to go check it out with a friend of mine. I ended up ordering the lobster benedict. It was a special and I am not sure if it is always on the menu. It was priced very well. However it did take quite a while to receive service and I sat quite a while and was ready to order before the server even made it to the table to say hi. The lobster benedict was absolutley delicious, loads of lobster with the egg and hollandaise was excellent. Really a great combination. I got the potatoes over the fruit which I feel I may have made a mistake. Potatoes were average. Nothing great, not horrible. The fruit on my buddies plate looked fresh and delicious. In conclusion, main food was an A+, the potatoes and service could use a little help. 4/5 read more

My boyfriend and I love Swamis we used to go to the one in la mesa and now we go to this one and it's still great. Admittedly parking is more difficult on certain days of the week. His favorite dish is the chorizo hash and I like the soy chorizo hash (veggie friendly) and have never been disappointed by anything I've ordered! Amazing food, great location, good parking. I had the cheeseburger with fries and it was perfectly done- great flavor and the fries were so crispy on the outside - I want to try this place out again! My wife was not as pleased. Yes, she liked the food, no she did not like how we were seated so close to the tables next to us that it felt like we couldn't talk to each other at all. A whisper couldn't be heard because of the noise, and normal conversation was impossible without including the neighbors. read more

I loved it here! The waiters were nice and food was great with good seasoning and big portions.

We are visiting the area and walked here for breakfast during our stay. The pitaya bowl was the best I've ever had and the half order was big enough to share with my husband and toddler. My husband ordered huevos rancheros and said it was delicious, and I shared a pancake and eggs with my daughter. They serve fresh squeezed OJ and we loved that too. It was a win! read more

I hate to be this guy, but... It was my first time at this Swami's location in Carlsbad and I ordered the El Paso Benedict and Pb&Coffee Smoothie. The smoothie was really good, no problems. But when my food came, I saw this long piece of hair under the potatoes. (Not a fan of that). They took it back, and it looked like they just swept the potatoes off and gave me some new ones, because I was missing the fruit that was on it previously. It looks like I'll not be going to this Swami's location. I would of thought that my food would of been on the house, but it took them awhile to think about it, they comped the smoothie but not the food. read more

Disappointing slow service. Arrived at a slow time on a Sunday afternoon after the lunch rush. It took the waitress over ten minutes to come over and take our order. After we ordered, we ended waiting an additional twenty five minutes for a simple wrap and an order of potatoes. Too bad the food really was not worth the wait. The mahi wrap was pretty bland but the potatoes were pretty good. Probably will not return. read more

This location is very good, I really like the outside seating. I went there not to long ago with a friend and our waitress was really nice. She was blonde with some tattoos and I think her name was Cassie but she did an excellent job with recommending stuff to eat. My friend had the breakfast croissant and I had the black bean burrito. I have been here many times and am a fan. I like that I can bring my dog that's another plus and they have tons of healthy options another major plus. Yes they make mistakes but I also understand that my servers are not robots and human error may occur so I'm not gonna be petty and cry about it like other yelpers.
