Very clean , you can use the app. The app makes it very easy to know how long before your washing machine stops.

Clean washers & dryers. App is a huge plus. You can use quarters if Apps aren't your thing.

Sometimes a person has to do laundry between paychecks so every cent counts when you need to get…read moreyour laundry done. A week ago, we decided we would never return to this laundry mat. I like the fact that they keep the place clean. And the other workers are kind. But, one of the workers stole from me last weekend. This female worker was awful. By description, she was a loudmouth who wore a short black unkept wig with waves and fidgety. My daughter and I were simply doing our laundry as usual when we encountered a broken dryer with no notice on it. This lack of notice caused me, and many others to add money to the dryer unknowingly. After losing about $2, we used a different dryer and had to pay again. Basically, that was the only money we had to dry our clothes til payday so I asked this woman if I could get my money back. She was sitting in the back corner behind the desk yappin loudly with 2 older men instead of placing an "out -of-order" notice on the broken machines. I asked her if I could get a refund since there was no notice that the dryer was broken and she mumbled her way through it saying she could not. When another customer experienced the same thing at another dryer next to me, she also went and asked for her money back. There was also a third customer who complained that she put alot of quarters in that particular one and it didn't work. Because the worker was friends with the second lady, she gave her a refund on the machine next to me. She then laughed about it, then stole from the owner as she unlocked the key portion where the change is and pocketed that money at the customers expense, saying "I need that", lol. We then had to take our wet clothes home and hang them up to dry. After placing our clothes in the car, I went back and asked her why she refunded one person and not us? Even her friend, that second customer whom she refunded said that what she did was f'd up. She then got up yelling at me like she was gonna fight me and yelled "I'll show you the dryer I refunded. It wasn't your dryer so don't step to me like that!" she yelled. When I realized that she was actually a crazy nut and couldn't grasp the fact that it was discriminatory to refund one customer while stealing from the rest of us as customers and her employer, I just told her that I would have to let God deal with her and walked away. When I told my daughter what she did and said, it took 3 women outside of the laundromat to hold her back from going back inside to yell back at that lady for her theft and mistreatment of me as her mother. One of those young ladies stated that "there was bad energy inside of this laundromat and that we are best to walk away as the Lord would want us to do". She was my angel because my daughter wasn't having any of it. Needless to say, sometimes black people make it their goal to hurt other black customers simply because they have evil spirits within and don't want unity within their own communities. This nasty form of a woman and worker is one of them. I am so tired of these people using the excuse "this is Flint" as if the city name authorizes a low vibrational environment. Theft is theft and is an individual choice. Not something you just do because of the city boundary lines drawn. That's such BS. We will never return to this crappy laundromat ever again because of bad customer service and because the workers in there intentionally steal from customers.

It was good but no good consumer service, tried calling them and the guy who spoke wasn't nice.read more

And the reason for the rave review boils down to one single thing that's often repeated in triplicate: location, location, location! I mean, it does have other things going for it but at the end of the day it's still a laundromat. Here's what's so special about BDL. It's open all night and it's next door to a diner that, for 4 out of 7 nights at least, is also open all night. I can throw my clothes in the wash, walk a few feet over to Phoenix Coney Island, get a carryout, eat most of it in the laundromat while waiting for the wash to finish, not miss a moment throwing it in the dryer, and then finish my grub while my clothes tumble dry. No idle time surfing the internet on my phone, watching bits and pieces of a show on Hulu or whatever streaming service I have at the moment, no, ahem, pecking out Yelp reviews. Pure, glorious nourishment of my belly to help soothe the drudgery of laundry. It's an absolutely ingenious set up. Even college towns like Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti don't have this one two punch of essential services and I don't know why. It's kind of cool the way Blue Diamond is off the main drag of Van Dyke but also why I never noticed it, nor did anyone else on Yelp, til recently. I was just in here late Easter night for a little grub and glow up (does cleaning one's clothes count as a glow up? Maybe I'm being overly charitable here but I always strive for alliteration) and an attendant came in for a little clean up and coin retrieval at that late hour. I chatted him up some and he said he thought the place had been open for about two years. He didn't know what it was before which I'm curious about as the building has an interesting look with a slanted roof that rises and rises the farther away from Van Dyke it gets. Blue Diamond is very bare bones when it comes to decor. Boring white walls. No video games or pinball, just a couple vending machines- snacks and sodas and water. But who cares, right? All night coney island right next door. The attendant says they might even try to start serving food out of the laundromat which seems pretty unnecessary to me, but there is one area with a counter and a metal roll down window above it that does look like it's unused space. I also complimented the attendant on how clean the place is and then looked around and saw there was actually a bunch of dryer sheets and assorted litter around on the floor. But hey, it was the end of a holiday weekend. On my other visit the place is as spic and span as you'd hope for. All night laundromats aren't the easiest to keep spotless. As he said sometimes people roll through and trash the place. And honestly as long as the machines and folding tables are clean I don't care too much if the rest is a little rough around the edges. I'm too busy stuffing my face with food from next door. The only downside of Blue Diamond is it's a bit out of my way, but hey, I can't really mark them down for that, right? It just means I usually end up at worse laundromats that are more conveniently located. If I ever find myself in a living situation with on site laundry it would be a tremendous accomplishment but I might even miss this place a little. And I've only been here a couple times so far!
