    Wedge salad
    Brian O.

Not recommended unless you are only going for a drink. As we walked down street, we saw this and looked to see what menu showed on-line. It showed something's that we were like okay let's try it. We sat inside and it was nicely decorated. They do have outside seating that is shaded by buildings in the evening, It also connects directly to the lobby of the Hyatt Regency. First miss was the menu they gave us and the menu on-line did not match. I asked waiter and he did not have a great answer. The drink menu was good size but slightly overpriced on Bourbons. We ordered jalapeño cornbread, wedge salad and brisket burnt ends sandwich with fries. The cornbread was about three inches tall and very dry. The wedge salad was supposed to have blistered tomatoes and dry ham. The tomatoes looked rotten. If they were blistered you think that they would have some black on them but they did not. The dry ham was chewy so not dry. Now for the sandwich, I smoke meat at home for a reference. The brisket burnt ends were tough. These should have been tender. The food was sub par for sure. The waiter was not very good. After we told about the food, he didn't really say or do anything. We had to take him our payment. He didn't not ring right away and walked off to an area that was not being used with our card. We had to go find him to ring up our transaction, very concerning. The manager did finally come over and told us they took off two of the items. We already knew that as we were in process of paying. He didn't apologize but also made it out that we just didn't like their interpretation of the food. The redemption was when we were leaving, another customer was complaining to the same manager about their food. It was a completely different dish. Again not recommending for food.

Inexplicably not open for lunch? It's the Hyatt's only dining option and only breakfast and dinner offered. Neither is that impressive. Breakfast was off the menu on our first day, and not all items on the limited menu were available. The second day, only a lackluster buffet was offered with mostly breads, biscuits, and muffins available. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, and meat. Zero fruit was available and only grits but no oatmeal. My wife ate, but I didn't bother. Dinner was okay, but nothing special. Red velvet cake was a highlight. Bar has an outstanding selection of bourbons. Good cocktails, as well. Service is fine.

The one time I was here was while I was on business. I had decided to stay in the hotel and eat at "Sway". The menu is simple with appetizers, sandwiches and a smaller list of dinner entrees. I decided on the version of surf and turf - a filet and shrimp skewer. The food isn't bad and the service is decent. I might try them again but I feel like there's a lot of other good restaurants to try around the hotel. We'll see.....

This is a nice spot to try if you're looking for a place near 4th Street that isn't a cheesy tourist destination. I have to admit, with the mediocre reviews I had pretty low expectations for this place, and our main reason for coming here was due to the walking distance of the event venue we were attending. I made reservations through OpenTable, however even for a Saturday night this place does not seem to get too busy, so you can probably walk in with no problem. The service was average and slow, and we did see the table across from us scoff at their waiter for the long drink wait, but on our end it wasn't too bad. I also wasn't a fan of the cocktail I ordered, the 'Just Peachy,' it was not made well so I ended up trading with my husband and really enjoying his beer.. lol. The food was the best part! I tried the salmon and really enjoyed it. Sway is alright, definitely not somewhere I would go out of my way for, but it's a hotel bar - Convenience is one of the biggest factors here, but like I mentioned, the food is also really good, too. Just not the best you can get in the area.

Four of us visited Sway for dinner before a concert at YUM Center. It was within walking distance and I was able to make a reservation via Open Table. It was very crowded but they eventually came to seat us. The service was extremely slow but eventually we got cocktails and a KY sampler platter similar to a charcuterie board. It was really good. We each got a different meal, Fried Chicken, Shrimp n Grits, Sway Burger and Bourbon Sesame Salmon. The salmon is what I ordered and it was delicious! This place didn't break the bank at $64 for the two of us. I would recommend for the food, convenience and great bar.

Just a short walk from our hotel this was a great start to our day. The restaurant was not overly crowded and the staff was warm and welcoming! The Bourbon Bloody Mary and 3 Egg Omelet were delicious!

So the first night that we went here the seating area was not very full but our server seemed extremely overwhelmed. We ordered a round of drinks and a meat and cheese board. It took over 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. When they finally got there they were watered down and not anywhere near filled to the top which is annoying. We never could get the server back around to pay our bill because we could not fathom staying there. Finally we chased around two different bussers who found our server and brought us our check. Night to no one had ambition to leave the hotel so we wound up at sway again. We sat down and waited close to 30 minutes for someone to come and help us. We ordered our drinks and she asked if we were ready for her food. When one of us hesitated she instantly said "I'll be back when you're ready" and I was like "nooooooooo" thinking she might never return. We finally got ordered and it took eons for our food and drinks. When our drinks came once again they were watery and the sodas were flat. I specifically asked for a fresh soda and nothing happening on that front. When we got our food it looked OK. Nothing great but not bad except for one dish. One of my dinner mates got the "fried chicken". It didn't look fried. It looked like chicken that had been left out in the sun? It was like thin and dry and a funny color. When we got to looking at it it had little to no meat and it still had feathers I approached a manager with it because our server hadn't been back for 5-6 minutes at that point. And they said they would make a new plate but it would take 20 minutes. So the rest of us and we waited. We tried on several occasions to ask the people that we saw around like runners and busters to purchase a drink or to find our server. But no one would. We even got a couple of blatant "no"s from the staff. Eventually I saw her walking around so I went and grabbed her to get us another round. Our next round was incorrect also still flat and not full Finally our chicken dish came out again. It was much improved. There was actually meat on the bones so that was nice and the potatoes and gravy it came with were actually delicious. The other food that we got was a Caesar salad which could've use some more dressing that was chopped nicely, the shrimp and grits which had decent flavor with a lot of heat at the end but way too much sauce, some burgers which the guy said we're good. Neither one of them ate the whole thing, a steak which looked OK but the eater only ate about a quarter of it and finally a baked goat cheese with pimento. Now normally I would say that sounds terrible but it was actually tasty because the goat cheese was more prominent than the taste of pimento. So it was like an orange goat cheese. Although for the cost the amount that was there was very small and they do like toasted baguette which is extremely crunchy and crumbly The food and beverage gentleman knew about our unhappiness when he came by to ask how her day was. I did mention that the service had been terrible both days and he brought us a round of drinks which I thought was nice. He was also the one that fixed our chicken. Overall the food was OK but the service was horrific and I would much rather have walked outside to chipotle because at least they're friendly and attentive.

CHEF GREG did a terrible job pleasing me and other clients in the restaurant I asked for a Kentucky board and extra pimento cheese he said "I know I did it the other day for you and your little friends but I ain't going to do it today" I don't think this is the service a client or anyone that comes in for a nice dinner should receive if I could give 0 stars I would! And there always missing items out of there menu ridiculous.

If you want to know how this place is . Check out the food check out the people they are great and would recommend any come here.

There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

Well I'd classify this place as a dive bar in the sense of the word. It's definitely not 4 star…read morenoted and maybe not the best exclusive signage and overall 4 star appeal; but it a diamond in the rough, persa. This place is quaint, nice location (on a corner ) decent seating, not a big outdoor dining area, the bar is long and has the memories of the old day saloon. Now the food; terribly good! Menu isn't extensive but good items and variety that will satisfy anyone's appetite. It was Father's Day but as soon as it opened they were quickly filled with patrons and people kept coming; even waiting to get in. The fries in duck fat were awesome. Since so many baskets of fries like this for a long time. The smoked wings are great, meaty and savory. I had the pork belly tacos; my only disappointment was you only get 2 per order. The fine combination of ingredients were splendid and the pork belly so tender. My wife had the bbq pork sandwich on pretzel bun. Very good tasting and this was with no bbq sauce on it. If you're in the area, do yourself a a favor and stop in. I can't wait to go back ( as we live in southern Indiana) so might be a bit but definitely want to try a few other items.

Low ceilings and servers clad in black add to the effect of a candle-lit cask of a restaurant. The smells wafting from the kitchen immediately get your appetite revving if it wasn't already in gear. Out host, Mary, sat our party quickly and the server came right away to fill waters and take drink orders. The menu is short but superb. Everything has a Mediterranean flair that should make you expect savory mess and spice. Prices are in the $40-60 range for entrees but worth it! Parking is free in the lot and a QR code on the menu gives you access to enter your info including plate number. It's a nice feature for an area where spots are limited.

I was hosting a business dinner in Louisville last week and wanted to try someplace new. I scanned…read morethe list of James Beard 2025 semifinalists and focused on two spots: MeeshMeesh and The Fat Lamb. MeeshMeesh is wildly popular and books out 60 days in advance, so that wasn't happening--but I was able to secure a timely reservation at The Fat Lamb. That turned out to be a great decision. It was a pleasure meeting Dallas McGarity, the executive chef and owner. He shared that the restaurant has been open for about ten years and that he's preparing to open a new Italian concept. When the topic of his James Beard nomination came up, he mentioned it was a complete surprise--the restaurant didn't self-nominate--which made the recognition feel even more meaningful. One thing I neglected to ask him directly was why lamb plays such a central role on the menu. Our server wasn't entirely sure either, but she did explain how the restaurant got its name. Apparently, Dallas was traveling through the countryside, spotted a particularly memorable "fat lamb" on a farm, and the name stuck. Sometimes it really is that simple. With four of us dining, we may have gone a bit overboard on starters--but no regrets. We shared the roasted Brussels sprouts, lamb kofta meatballs, fontina and truffle arancini, and the whipped feta and pita. Every dish was well-executed and easy to share, which made them ideal for a business dinner. For entrées, my wife and I split the signature tandoori and ancho spice-roasted lamb chops. They were flavorful without being heavy, and the black barbecue sauce added a nice depth. Our server highly recommended the Moroccan-spiced halibut, which our other guests shared and thoroughly enjoyed--especially the mushroom demi-glace. Dessert was the Nutella mousse, another house signature. The Italian cherries and chocolate shavings were a great finishing touch without pushing things into overly sweet territory. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing. The evening flowed naturally--never rushed, never dragging--which is exactly what you want when entertaining clients or colleagues. The Fat Lamb delivered a memorable, well-rounded dining experience and easily earned its reputation. I'd happily return, whether for business or just a great night out.

It doesn't feel like Louisville at all. The place was busy. Atmosphere was inviting. I could definitely hang out there while I eat. I'll try some more of their dishes but I do have a few things to note. The cost: It's downtown so an expectation of higher prices is expected. They do give you a decent portion size but with other options and the ultimate option of bringing your lunch with you, it's going to be hard for me to revisit this place in the future. I do hope I can give their breakfast a try if I'm down there early enough. Even with their breakfast, it better be DOUBLE GOOD because the PNC building has breakfast nearby and you can have an excellent breakfast there for 5-10 bucks. The food: Achiote Chicken Taco Bowl - White rice. Achiote Chicken Thigh. Diced tomato. Monterrey jack cheese. Sour Cream. Tortilla Chips. Avo smash. Cilantro. Charred pepper ranch. It was good but nothing really stuck out about it. Bites had flavor but eventually it turned into a bland dish. I ended up saving it for later time leftovers... but when trying to eat it later on in the day, it had that same bland taste that developed. I think the biggest issue with it was all the smashed avocado. It definitely didn't need so much. It ended up overpowering all the other flavors. It's a good spot to change it up from other options downtown but I can't rave about it until I come across my 'go-to' dish here at some point.
