    Egg Sandwich

A cute cafe for a date! This spot can have a wait with a lot of small tables. There is a record store next door you can shop while you wait. A menu that leans a little healthier and European inspired. I had the breakfast sandwich, which was okay. The bread and bacon were a little overdone, but side salad added on it helped. The hot sauce is a must add! Farm salad was fresh and delicious, but small. Turkey sandwich was not huge, but it was pretty good. Some prices seem high, like $22 for minestrone- but others fair. Service was not the best, but it was busy. It's worth a try overall.

Sweedeedee is an absolute brunch dream. We truly enjoyed ourselves there so much that we returned two more times while on vacation. The place is intimate, homey and comforting. Staff was welcoming and very friendly. Wish we could have tried the whole menu but we were definitely stuck on the corn cakes. I guess we will have to back again to tackle the rest of the menu.

My partner and I came for a Valentine's breakfast and were looking forward to returning since our last visit was in 2023. I enjoyed the breakfast plate and my partner ordered the smoked trout sandwich. The cafe au lait was delicious! We both left feeling disappointed with the service though. Our servers didn't check in on us once but did check in on their other patrons... (we're Latino)... noticing. This disappointed us as the patrons next to us were checked in on back to back. Overall, we don't plan on returning.

Sweedeedee always has the best pastry items! Last time I was there we had an olive oil cake which was super dense but not dry at all, and the frosting was so good! We also ordered biscuits (i think they were chive and cheddar) and highly recommend getting the butter that comes along with it!

One of my favorite brunch spots. Very zen atmosphere when I come here. Seating is perfect for small groups or for solo diners. It's a cozy interior with not a whole lot of seating inside. If you come solo you can be seated quickly, 2 or more and you're probably gonna have to wait. I got the Spanish tortilla with romesco sauce and salad and my friend had the breakfast plate. We split the bacon. Everything was delicious, my only comment is that the breakfast plate seemed kind of low value. Not a lot of food for a lot of $$$. In fact, all of the portions here are fairly small. This is going to depend on your appetite obvi but my friend and I had just finished a 2 hr workout and we were a little ravenous. This is probably the spot for you if you're not feeling incredibly hungry or you don't mind running up a check lol.

they really need a picture menu ... because this was not good at all and a very small portion of it and it was overpriced the staff was great though

Ordered: -Spanish tortilla -Corn cakes + bacon Pro: -Such cute interior!! It is cozy, chic and the staff are really nice. Prepare for a wait unless you come in on a weekday. -Our favorite was the Spanish tortilla. It came out looking nothing like we expected; and tasted unexpected!! It has a hint of spice, had the texture of tamago, and tasted like fresh vegetables though we couldn't identify which. The sauce was very delightful!! -Corn cakes has great texture, were fluffy and super tasty!! Con: -The corn cakes and bacon were slightly too salty for our personal tastes

I stopped by sweedeedee by coincidence for some breakfast. Waitresses were nice and let us sit at any open table to our liking. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and was pleased by the way they cook their egg. thick, but also fluffy texture with some cheese and bacon to add to the crunchy savory bite.

Small little cafe, with maybe less than 10 tables. We ordered these little pastry puffs, Profiteroles, when we were waiting for our table and omg this was the highlight of the restaurant for sure, Highly recommend. For brunch we ordered the breakfast sandwich. The eggs were good and the spicy mayo to egg ratio was spot on. However, the focaccia bread I thought was going to be like the bread that they had for their cabbage sandwich instead of a bun style. I think the sandwich could also be next level with avocado & arugula added to it especially if you're vegetarian and don't want to add the bacon.

We had a fabulous experience here! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. It's a really cute space with nice windows and light. The food, omg. Absolutely in heaven. The maritozzi pastry we started out with was incredible, flavor and texture were perfect. I got the breakfast plate with bacon added, and focaccia instead of rye. It was so delicious and a great portion size. My partner loved the breakfast sandwich as well. We will definitely be back!!

I came here for brunch with friends and had an amazing time. The decor of the spot is so adorable, dainty, and quaint. They also even have a spot where you can buy wines and some cooking ingredients! However, the inside of the restaurant is very small, with enough space for just over ten people, so my friends and I dined outside. We got the Breakfast Sandwich, French Toast with Blueberries and Lemon Curd, Breakfast Plate, and Danish plate. Everything was a good portion and great. Overall, I thoroughly loved my brunch here and would come again if I were in the area.

We decided on outdoor patio seating since the weather was nice & it was generally quieter outside. We were people watching for a bit and noticed that our fellow restaurant goers were waiting for quite a bit, but we weren't in a hurry, so it was fine. When our waiter eventually tended to us, he was incredibly friendly & apologetic, owning up to the delay being on him, but we were cool with it -poor guy was working a double shift. We started off with deep-fried okra, I ordered the fried chicken meal, & hubby ordered the burger. I got to pick the chicken pieces I wanted, so I went with 2 thighs, thinking they'd be smaller pieces, so I could maybe finish my meal. I opted for collard greens as well. The food came relatively quickly and was super-fresh. The fried okra bits were piping hot down to the last bite. They went well with the spicy aioli. We hung onto the aioli so hubby could dip his fries. My meal was so good. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. The batter was just perfect and crisp. Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. Gravy was rich and well-seasoned. Collard greens were so tasty. The balance of textures was just perfection. I ended up having to pack up a piece of chicken because it was so much food, but I enjoyed every bite I was able to take of my meal. I appreciated their welcoming vibe & the beautiful pride balloon arch inside the restaurant. I appreciated the friendly service. I appreciated the thoughtfully and expertly made food. It was a perfect way to end my culinary experience for this Portland visit.

This was my first time having catfish. I also am not a fan of grits, but knew that it would be to good to pass up and not give it a try. Everything on the catfish platter was splendid. I adored the biscuit and raspberry jam, might've been the best I have had! The raspberry jam was so good I asked for extra (because seriously, what was I going to do with that little bit provided lol) they end up bringing two more hehe. The biscuit was super soft, buttery and light (also coming from someone that couldn't care less about a biscuit). I also appreciate a biscuit that is NOT flaky! Hold your hate comments lmao! I had this amazing food before going to a wine tasting and let me just say this was the perfect choice before an event as such afterwards. Honorable mention, the chicken and waffles waffle is made with sweet potato. YEAH? It is as good as it sounds!! I think the videos on TikTok on this place, did not do it justice at all. Everything we ordered was gorgeous and whimsical in presentation, but of course that would mean little without the flavors to back it all up, which it had in spades. The Thai steak tartare tostadas were incredibly balanced, with brightness and herbaceous notes from the vegetables, herbs, and sauce, great punch from the Thai spices, richness from the tartare, and a nice snap and slight nuttiness from the tapioca crisps cradling everything underneath. The foie gras dumplings were simply divine. I expected them to be rich and dense, but they were like little pillows, with a savory filling and a perfect balance of smoked leek broth, crispy fried leeks, and a caramelized shallot jam that ended up being the surprise star of the dish for me. Then came the main event, the Duck Stack, which I can only describe as a McGriddle on steroids (in the best possible way!). Somehow it all worked beautifully, with the rich duck gravy, fluffy pancakes drenched in syrup, spiced onions, and a fried duck egg tying everything together in perfect harmony. It was one of those dishes that sounds wild on paper but is totally brilliant on the plate and in your mouth. The garlic fries were spicy in the best way, perfectly crisp, and served steaming hot. The Duck Stack (pancakes covered with duck gravy, onions, and a duck egg) sounded a bit odd to me (and probably many others). When I asked the server if it was good, they told me that people travel to the restaurant specifically for that dish. I'm glad I tried it. Again, very unique with a well balanced spice profile paired with the delicious undertones of a hot pancake. I know I would have never thought of that, doesn't sound like it should work, but....it worked! Service was great, atmosphere was a bit loud with a band playing next door, it was a bit overwhelming, plus a random dude walked into the restaurant and a server lit his joint for him as a courtesy(?)...stunk the place up for a few minutes, but as I thought about it, I decided that was about the most "Portland" thing I had seen all week on my trip :) I'll be going back for sure, I would love to taste through that entire menu. Did I mention the Foie Gras Dumplings? I never had anything like them in my life. That's a dish I would definitely travel back to Portland for.
