Even the coffee was quality. The agua fresca was refreshing and satisfying. I also got the fried chicken with Mac n cheese and veggies. The fried chicken was crispy, flavorful, and juicy. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it if you like fried chicken. The Mac and cheese is also the style I like and I would get it again. The fried chicken here is worth a trip! While they don't advertise it as southern fried chicken (which is probably wise, as a Georgia native I know people are quick to pile on if it isn't the exact style they grew up with) it certainly fits the bill. Even most sides are what you would find in the south, mac & cheese, Cole slaw, mashed potatoes... Two of us split a 4 piece with mixed dark & white meat with mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. The mac & cheese was very good, the mashed potatoes didn't look delicious but they were! It came with 2 pieces of cornbread muffins, with a little pat of butter on top which was a nice touch. We'll probably add one more piece of chicken if we can next time bc my boyfriend wanted more :) A lovely surprise was that they serve beer! So we added on a couple Modelos when the food came. The service couldn't have been nicer! It was essentially full service besides ordering and paying at the counter. The server brought everything out after that and was so kind and attentive without being overbearing at all. And the restaurant was spotless. Best German Chocolate Cake ever! From 1983 until it closed in 2018, I bought my cakes and pastries from Virginia Bakery, even after I moved to Sacramento in 1993. I couldn't find a German Chocolate Cake anywhere near Virginia Bakery's quality. Until I found Sweet Bites Bakery & Brunch. I read a review and ordered the cake online. The cake was just like Virginia Bakery. Plus the decoration for Cal football was over the top. I'm so glad that I made the trip. One thing to mention is that Sweet Bites doesn't have as big a display as Virginia Bakery so I would recommend ordering online or call and see if it has what you're looking for. read more

The fried chicken here is good, but the tiramisu is a travesty. If it were in a blind taste test, it would just be described as a generic cream filled cake. There's virtually no tiramisu taste at all. It's a generic white cake with cinnamon powder on top. Please don't call it a tiramisu. If we somehow got a fluke let me know! Update: oh, it's cocoa powder on top, not cinnamon. It's labeled "tiramisu", despite having zero coffee flavor. Should just be labeled vanilla cake. read more
