My family enjoys getting ice cream here every time we're in Pine to try the different flavors and support a small community.

This place caught me by surprise. We weren't in too much of an ice cream mood that day because it…read morewas already quite chilly outside, but we wanted to try it so we just got their small cup. That size allows you to choose two flavors, so we had their Belgian Chocolate and Espresso Swirl. SO. INCREDIBLY. GOOD! Their ice cream is almost like a gelato because it was so lush and creamy and so flavorful without being overly sweet. It's not the kind of ice cream that has those little ice chip bits you get in every bite. Nope. This was just pure creamy bliss all throughout. Everything they had was homemade too--from cookies to brownies to pies, and of course their ice cream! They had coffee as well, so they truly have a lot to choose from when you stop by. The staff were super nice and friendly, and made our visit such a happy one. We also heard they usually have a long line that goes out the door, so we were pretty lucky when we found ourselves only with a few other people ahead of us when we visited. Although after we got our order, the stream of people that arrived seemed endless. If you find yourself in Uptown Sedona, please stop by and get some of their ice cream. I know I will when we go to Sedona again!

The shop is small and they don't have restrooms but they are definitely serving up some delicious goodies. We went all in on the apple pie sundae. We did the double crust (the crumble looked great but there was only a sad, small slice left and I wanted a bigger slice for the $10+ price tag). The pie slice was warm and gooey, we had an epic scoop of the malted vanilla on top (pro move over the regular vanilla), caramel sauce and whipped cream. It was AMAZING. Seriously, like a big hug of nostalgia. When we went it was cash only, not sure if that's normal (presumably not since it was a hand written sign on the door). The other ice cream and baked goods looked YUMMO so we will likely be back. Worth the splurge (both calories and money wise)

The service was great, and the food was even better. We started off with the artichoke bites, which came out piping hot and crispy with a side of lemon garlic, aïoli sauce. I ordered the spicy vodka pasta with shrimp which came with about five pieces of jumbo shrimp and homemade pasta. The sauce was amazing. It was probably one of the best pasta dish I've had. My husband ordered the chicken pasta with cream that was recommended by the bartender. That was also delicious. They also have free bread that came with olive oil with salsa Verde in it, which was interesting. We have to ask for the free bread though. For dessert we had gelato with salt and olive oil, which was surprisingly good. Overall, we had a great experience with amazing food. I would definitely come back here for the spicy vodka pasta next time I'm in town.

I ordered the Smokey Fashion, which leaned strong and spirit-forward. Our appetizer was a daily special featuring burrata (the creamy Italian cheese similar to mozzarella) with mushrooms, artichoke, arugula, and a flavorful sauce--beautifully done. For mains, we had to try the pasta. My friend ordered the gnocchi, and I had the artisan-style garganelli with grilled chicken, sautéed mushrooms, and green onions in a smoky chipotle cream sauce--rich, slightly spicy, and easily one of the best pasta dishes I've had this year. Service matched the quality of the food, with a knowledgeable and polished server throughout.

We got here around 1:30 pm just in time for some lunch. As I turned my head to the right, asking what we should eat, we all said "PIEbar" together. Jinx. It's just the perfect little cafe. It's bright yellow so it catches your eye. A line of people waiting to order at the front door was moving fast. Parking is right off the highway and in front of the restaurant. There's also additional parking behind the restaurant down the hill. Stairs come straight up to patio from the lower lot. Beautiful patios surround the restaurant with shaded tables. Gorgeous Ivy covered pines and oaks cover the patio areas. Two gender neutral restrooms available in a separate small building next to the restaurant. I love how the menus are written and posted everywhere and list empanadas in order by popularity. Another thing I appreciate is the size of the empanada and the price. They are small enough and inexpensive enough that you could get a snack but if you wanted to get, let's say five or six because you're hungry for lunch it is still affordable. Service was so friendly and great as we ordered at the counter. I couldn't believe how quickly the ordering process went and we were handed a bag of warm empanadas before we knew it. We ordered: - 1 SAVORY Empanada - The Mountain Man Empanada - sausage, potato gravy, cheese (most popular) - 1 SAVORY Empanada - Chicken Pot Pie empanada (second most popular) - 1 SAVORY Empanada - Picadillo Beef Empanada - shaved beef, diced potato, green chiles, onion, cilantro, tomato, garlic (I got this one and it's #1 in my book) - 1 SAVORY Empanada - Artichoke Dip Empanada (meatless) daughter said this was very good - 1 SWEET Empanada - Apple/Dulce de Leche - warm and yummy! We all split this for dessert. The pastry / shell is very tasty and doesn't taste like some I've tried other places with an artificial taste. It's flaky and filling. Handheld size. Perfect for taking on the go. Each empanada placed in a waxed paper sleeve. They've got a few different very tasty dipping sauces as well. We tried the Creamy Green Chile & Pepita Sauce (mild) and the Chipotle Lime Aioli (mild). Very good flavors and fresh.

They don't really have time to be personable when you've got 15 people in line and more walking up. You kinda gotta get things done.....No rudeness just a busy place and people trying to get things handled to serve their customers as quickly and efficiently as possible. I don't have a problem with that. As for the food, we got five different savory empanadas, and several of their sweet and really the only one that I found not good at all was the pecan, it was very dry and just had a weird texture and flavor that I would not have expected.. All of the savory empanadas were amazing. They are small and premium priced but in a small little touristy area like that, it's what you expect, I'm sure they have to bring in all their product and that means driving and there's extra transportation cost. They don't have a Costco in their backyard so I understand the price is being a little higher, but I didn't feel that they were out of line. Overall, four out of five it's a little tiny open air place, and they are making their empanadas very rapidly baking them and then putting them and holding ovens the temperatures could've been a little higher on the ones that we got that's the only negative that I saw but overall worth stopping in
