    Chocolate caramel cake
    Stephanie L.

My husband got my Valentine's Day cookies there for 2023. He special ordered and had a great experience at check out! We love their baked goods. We're here more often than Yelp knows... bc if it's not on Yelp, the calories don't count right? Sweet Laurel Bakery is my go to for post dinner party desserts. It's always a crowd pleaser! Especially the coconut jam and it takes the heat off me to plan, prep and prepare another dish. And the reliability factor is huge. Everything is consistent and consistently delicious. So grateful this bakery is close to home and they now have a flat rate fee for shipping throughout many parts of LA! Yay!

Wedding cakes (had to get two!)

My favorite bakery! I have a lot of dietary restrictions and usually avoid dairy, rice and gluten. I was so excited when I discovered a grain-free, dairy-free bakery with the cutest vibe It's also close to a lot of great hikes too! I usually park in the parking garage, and stay for an hour or two. Parking is around $2/hour I believe. On Sundays, there's the farmers market just around the corner too! Let's talk desserts! My favorite is the chocolate caramel cake then the carrot cake. Also love their chocolate chip cookies and ice cream sandwiches. I'm usually a blueberry muffin girl but their lemon poppyseed is actually my go-to. Their mini cupcakes are also yummy. I haven't tried everything yet, but believe me... I will. I even bought their cakes for our small wedding ceremony, and they were perfect. The flowers matched our decor. The flowers were an additional cost l, and I didn't pick the specific ones. Just go and try it yourself!

Lots of cute Sweet Laurel Bakery gifts

This place is adorable! They have the cutest mini fairy cupcakes that are perfect for a quick dessert stop with the kids. Their bakery items are "organic, grain-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free" per their website. Because of the grain-free aspect, their cakes and muffins are not quite what you might expect due to coconut and almond flour content. I happen to like the coconut/almond texture so I love it! They have also published two gorgeous coffee-table-perfect cook books, available for purchase at the store and online (which I'm really tempted to buy for myself this coming holiday season). If you're lucky you might come across their ready-to-bake chocolate chip cookie dough at the nearby Whole Foods. I can't wait to go back again the next time I want to indulge myself with a slice of cake!

Cute shop. They do not validate for parking downstairs. We picked up our pre order of Oishii strawberry from here and also got another package of the omakase berries in their fridge. They charged us tax on the berries although strawberries should not be taxed.

Sweet Laurel Bakery is one of the prettiest bakeries that I've come across. The inside is colored coordinated with light pink and white with some cool desserts and drinks. I ordered a strawberry and cream ice cream sandwich and sat outside on their patio. It was a nice blend of cookie and ice cream together. I guess I do enjoy eating ice cream sandwiches. They do also sell sliced cakes and things like that but it was quite a sunny day so that's why I had ordered the ice cream sandwich and strawberries are one of my favorite fruits. If you have a sweet tooth this is a place for you! They also do carry a few vegan-friendly items!

    Vanilla coconut jam cake

I was in the area and was craving some cake. We did a quick Yelp search and found Sweet Laurel Bakery with yummy looking pictures and decided to stop by. We went NOT knowing about the paleo, vegan, keto options and only found out after we ate our cakes. Overall, I think this bakery has an awesome mission and for what these baked goods were, they were really good. I don't have dietary restrictions and usually avoid places like this because I want my dairy and sugar. I took a bite of the two cakes we got (vanilla coconut jam and chocolate caramel) and immediately knew it wasn't a "regular" cake. The texture was slightly different - it was more porous and had coconut shreds in everything, even the chocolate cake. I'm not a fan of coconut (my partner is), so that was slightly off putting to me. Despite this, this was definitely the best paleo/vegan cake I've ever had. Other than the coconut and different texture, these cakes were bomb! I LOVED how the sweetness was perfectly balanced - nothing was overly sweet. After eating my slice, I didn't feel heavy or weighed down, just satisfied. If you have any dietary restrictions or are on a healthier diet but wanting some baked goods, I highly recommend this place. Parking is metered nearby (where I parked), and I believe there's a parking lot in the back as well. They also have other coffee drinks and a patio outside where you can sit and enjoy your coffee and cakes.

Located in a quaint shopping area. Parking is available on the streets. They are metered. Staff was very friendly. They have a variety of nice little desserts. I ordered a cappuccino and an ice cream sandwich with vanilla and chocolate chip. Cappuccino was good. Just like an ordinary coffee. The ice cream sandwich was absolutely delicious. Definitely homemade, and you can taste it too. Well worth it. Highly recommended

This place amazing, highly recommend to buy sweet treats for an Organic Queen/King from here. My Gf definitely enjoyed these sweet treats

This place is so cute, pink and girly. The cake was nothing special unfortunately which was a bit disappointing.

I had SWEET LAUREL BAKERY bookmarked for a while as a must try bakery. Can't remember why though. Read the tagline under the name "Grain Free Bakery". Color me interested! How could any baked goods be grain free? Will it taste good? Yes it did! The BLUEBERRY MUFFIN was made with almond flour and it was yummy. Had the SWEET LAUREL TEA and it was slightly sweet and soooo good.

Coconut jam cake, carrot cake, and a latte

A dream come true As a girl with a ton of food allergies and intolerances, cake is something hard for me to come by. I have the Sweet Laurel cookbook and has always wanted to come try it in person, when my best friend decided we would go for my birthday. It was SO good. I have a nut allergy so that really narrowed down my options- then I could only have the coconut flour options. Which were still delicious! I got the coconut jam cake and a coffee cake muffin. The jam cake was so good and moist. The jam was fresh and really made the cake! I wish the prices were a little more reasonable, as $10 for a slice of cake is a bit much, but I do understand it can be difficult to bake such unique cakes. I will for sure go back one day!

    Mocha cake
    Amy X.

So Moist, So crumbly! This place is unique, delicious, and elegant! We usually grab a cake for a special occasion. Most recently, I ordered a mocha cake for mother's day, and it was delectable. The mocha flavor was deep and the ganache complemented it very well. I appreciated that it wasn't too sweet. While we were there, we also grabbed some pastries. I had the lemon poppyseed muffin and a brownie. Let me tell you, they were so incredibly moist and crumbly. The muffin's texture was as perfect as it could possibly be. The brownie had a deep flavor and wasn't to sweet. I couldn't believe how delicious they were. I'm definitely going back for more soon, and I'm going to grab all of the pastries!

Sweet laurel bakery is a sugar free and grain free bakery. Some of their stuff is really great, and you wouldn't be able to tell that it's healthy, and some other stuff you can taste the texture difference, but taste is never compromised. I tried their vanilla coconut jam cake which did have a gritty texture from the coconut but it was delicious! I also got to take a few bites of their chocolate caramel cake from my sister in law which didn't disappoint either. We wanted to try a few other things but they were sold out of their turmeric bread. I also tried their turmeric chai latte which was very watery and tasted more like a tea with lots of foam on top. The place was a lot smaller than I imagined but very cute and decorated with vintage tea cups and flowery designs everywhere. Those who are health conscious need to make a stop here! It's sweets without all the guilt, and great tasting.

We were delighted with the box of cookies and tarts that they brought from Paderia in Santa Monica. The chocolate chip walnut cookies were fat and soft with a slightly crisp exterior. The thickness of them allowed a plethora of rich chips to reside inside. The soft peanut butter chocolate cookie was also a huge fattie with peanut butter chips within the chocolate cookie. Both were enhanced with a quick warm-up. I loved both of these cookies and think the chocolate chip is the very best you'll ever find. We also had Portuguese egg tarts. The pastel de nata (if I recall, this is what they are called) I ate was small but good, but I have had others that were more to my liking, with a sweeter custard and a more caramelized top, which I guess is a personal preference. My first time- with the high, beam-exposed ceiling and layout, has Joan's on Third vibes. No seating inside but plenty outdoors, although the closer to the entrance, you need to talk loudly above the music. I went late (to meet a friend) at 1pm. Few choices in the pastry section though it looked like they would replenish, which they barely did an hour later. Here's what I got: FRENCH SILK PIE - OMG, the chocolate mousse like filling was butter. Thick but light. The crust was dry and too thick but I could smother myself with the filling. PEANUT BUTTER HONEY RICE KRISPY - Very large, cereal was too compressed and dense. The pb flavor was fresh and natural but I did not taste honey. The marshmallow fluff on top was unnecessary but the few blobs inside the krispy was a nice textural difference. Both were $6 each. I can see why they can't sustain their business. Maybe because they're closing the bakery, they didn't want to bake excessively. But the middle tables have cute but overpriced novelties. There was a big table of just old fashioned Helms truck tins, filled with cookies for a mere $50. The prepackaged food might be good but was expensive. $12 for a small egg salad sandwich.
