Ordered from here on Uber eats for the first time that I tried it and then went in person. Both times the quality was the same and I really appreciate how well they packaged the food when getting it delivered. The staff was really friendly and the place was really clean. The jalapeño cilantro dressing is actually a lot more spicy than I expected, but I love it and the quality of lettuce is amazing.

This is my go-to salad / bowl spot in Vienna - and an occasional sandwich! It's clear they prioritize fresh ingredients and great service. Ordering on the app is easy and it's nice to earn points towards future orders. My family loves the chimichurri bowl and one of my favorites is the brussels and pear salad, hold the kale & add fresh mesclun greens. Delicious!

Healthy. Clean. Tasty. Friendly Staff. The salmon had nice flavor, but was sadly a bit overcooked. The side sauce and squeezed lemon helped a smudge tie everything together. If the dish had more sauciness and less dry-ness, I think that would meet my expectations! I was happy with the portion size!

Finally a return visit to Sweet Leaf. Actually this time, DS did take-out for five sandwiches. I really enjoyed my Koo Koo Roo ... chicken, Cheddar cheese, avocado, roasted corn, red pepper, organic argula, and chipotle chile sauce. Think maybe I left off the sauce. A good combination. Best part was the toasted baguette. Very tasty. DS warned DH not to order his sandwich on sourdough. That it would not be like the San Francisco sourdough we are accustomed to. Did DH listen? No! Did he like the sourdough? No! Left the crusts ... not edible. Overall a good takeout meal, especially since there was a deal on five sandwiches for the price of four. Next time, I will remind DH to get the baguette!

Salads are fresh and very generously portioned, unlike some competitors (ahem Sweetgreen). Good selection of dressings and the sandwiches are good as well.

Very fresh salads. I ordered Berry Leaf (seasonal menu) and strawberries were so fresh. I loved the berry dressing not very sweet :)

I have been visiting Sweetleaf ever since it opened when I was in middle school. I, now a junior in college, still look forward to my visits when I'm back home for breaks. They are always adding new things to the menu and the seasonal specials are always exciting and delicious. On my most recent visit, I tried the turkey and apple sandwich, which was, in my opinion, absolutely to die for. I'm such a huge "fruit-on-sandwiches" kind of gal, and the crisp apples on this sandwich were next level. This sandwich has everything you want: that crisp, juicy apple, layers of turkey, a creamy cheese, and the fresh crunch of greens on top. I can't recommend this sandwich enough. My boyfriend even wanted to cast aside his own order to finish the other half of my sandwich (not that I let him)! I can't recommend Sweetleaf enough. It is a perfect lunch date location with its quaint tables and decor inside, simple patio seating, delicious array of sandwiches, salads, and bowls, and the sweet treats for later. I love the frozen yogurt and milkshakes they've got. I can't wait to keep coming back every time they add something new.

Finally found a place nearby that I LOVE. Moved here from CA and it's been a challenge finding healthy fresh fusion food like this.

The roll was reminiscent of a Philly sub roll, which - now this may be polarizing - is the standard by which I judge all sub rolls. Philadelphia just has the best subs ;) Anyway - they use good deli meats here. I don't think they make their own fries, but they were nice and crispy with a bit of seasoning on them and went well with our sandwiches. My husband had the cheesesteak and said it was just meh - definitely steak-ums - but we are from the self-proclaimed cheesesteak capital of the world :) Don't pass up the dessert case though - I am not a sweets person, but they had this triple cheese thing that was like a cheese danish, but with a million times more cheese and just a little bit of pastry, we... uhhh... devoured it... It paired really nice with their house chocolate gelato, which was the definition of rich, decadent chocolate. The lady at the register was kind enough to allow us to try a side-by-side of the house and the machine gelato... word of advice... skip the machine, go with the house gelato - the flavor (and the serving size) knocks that name-brand, machine mumbo jumbo out of the park :) Honestly, just a great sandwich joint with a little store selling specialty items, many of which are from Italy (I will be back for some squid ink pasta the next time I am cooking for friends!). Lovely little gem :)

The Chicken Little was medium sized but the flavor was more than expected and exactly as a chicken sandwich should be. I ordered a sandwich and wanted to make it a combo but they only do it with fries, no chips. For most, thats an awesome deal - I just personally wanted chips. They have the fancier drinks and not your typical soda options so keep this in mind. My roasted turkey sandwich was $14.95 to start, and toppings like pepper relish cost extra (I feel like a spread should not be half a dollar but sure). Meat quality was good and bread felt fresh but just a little hard to chew. For basically 16$, there was only two thin slices of provolone. Compared to some of the photos I saw, the sandwich was a bit lacking on the toppings of meat/cheese. People super friendly and service was quick. They had tons of desserts, pasta salad, and a few actual pasta dishes on the menu too. I'll have to come in to give them a try for a cheesesteak or the caesar salad wrap next.

The sandwiches are poorly made and the ingredients are slapped together. The veggies and fixings from my sandwich were poorly distributed and falling out, very messy to eat. Hubby complained about the freshness of the meat on at least a few occasions. The staff is the real issue. I had a big order for my family with a couple of sandwiches and kids meal. The large African American server kept frowning and showing frustration while ordering. When I asked for a receipt, she laughed. Funny part is that she forgot to ring up one of the sandwiches and of course, charged me for it. I wasn't looking for a freebie, but I did expect a bit of humility and slight apology. The Kids Grilled Cheese is terrible and simply cheddar cheese slapped between bread. It's not a panini sandwich. While my 2 year son took a small bite and then immediately threw in the towel, my 4 year daughter just shook her head without taking a bite. They fought over the mac and cheese (the other kids meal). The small Oatmeal Chocolate Chip in the kids combo didn't taste that fresh. The saving grace was that I scored a free bowl of Broccoli Cheddar soup. Throwing in the towel on this location, and will redeem my freebies at other locations!

Since we were back in the area for a DMV for a brief visit we knew exactly where we were stopping before heading to the airport. Hubs ordered his usual sausage, egg and cheese sandwich , and I ordered the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich along with an iced mocha. I had completely forgotten they have a Starbucks on-site with a limited menu. Of course, I couldn't leave without grabbing a cookie and a chocolate croissant for later. The food arrived fresh, hot, and exactly as expected. The staff is always friendly and personable. You see professionals, students and the locals coming in and out, but there is seating available. Conversations are at a minimum and despite the attached restaurant you can still hear yourself and the other person without yelling. One thing I appreciate about Best Buns is the consistency. Whether it's been months or years between visits, the quality never seems to change. The sandwiches are flavorful, the ingredients taste fresh, and nothing feels like it was sitting around waiting to be reheated. Everything is prepared to order, and you can taste the difference. My sandwich disappeared one bite at a time, and Hubs completely demolished his croissant sandwich without hesitation. That's usually all the confirmation I need. Some restaurants are good. Some are memorable, but there are the places that become part of your routine whenever you're back in town. Best Buns has earned that status for us. Five stars earned! Consistently fresh.
