Very disappointing experience. I've never encountered a restaurant that requires parties of more than six people to meet a minimum spending amount. I completely understand a credit card hold or a no-show fee, but forcing customers to spend a certain amount is unreasonable. They also emailed us a lengthy, unnecessary form to complete just to make a reservation and required us to choose our meals in advance, which takes away from the dining experience. Large parties bring more business to a restaurant, so these policies make no sense. Because of this, I canceled my reservation and chose to dine elsewhere. I hope the management reconsiders these policies.
I finally made it to Sweet Maple in Santa Monica after hearing so many people rave about it, and it definitely lived up to the hype! My husband, some friends, and I went for Sunday brunch. When we arrived, the line outside looked like people were waiting to get into a nightclub, so I was expecting a long wait. To our surprise, we were seated in less than 20 minutes. We started with the bacon flight, and it was absolutely delicious--definitely a must-order. We also went with the bottomless mimosas, which are served family-style for the table. Just a heads-up: everyone at the table has to participate if you want the bottomless option. It was worth it, though! They offered four different flavors, and the rosé mimosa was my favorite. I ordered the noodle dish after spotting it on a nearby table--it looked too good not to try. It was a fun, elevated take on Cup Noodles and tasted great. While I'm glad I ordered it, next time I'd probably try something different because there are so many other dishes on the menu that looked amazing. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knew the menu inside and out, which I really appreciated since I always ask for recommendations. Overall, we had a fantastic brunch experience, and I'll definitely be back. Great food, great drinks, and great service. 4 out of 5 stars!
What a fun place for "brunch with your girls" type place! Their food is so scrumptious and it's the perfect fusion from a gamut of Asian mixed with American breakfast dishes! Sweet Maple has a plethora of sweet and savory choices like the Marnier French Toast and Angelino Scramble. They also have flavorful drinks such as the Ube Latte and the underrated Blue Lychee. I suggest to make reservations especially on Saturdays! It's that good that the line wraps around the corner!

This place is so good. I was a bit upset because the line was super long then after waiting for nearly an hour to just put my name down they only had bar seating available and a table would've taken another 30 mins. They had like 6 bar seats available too so it was pretty irritating that you couldn't just walk in and find a seat at the bar. First I ordered fresh squeezed orange juice and it was the best I've had in years. I also ordered the Blackstone, which was the best eggs benny that I've ever had. This is my favorite brunch item and I've had it at just about every LA establishment. This one is truly up there. The bar area is a bit of a disaster. Dishes being cleaned by the same people making drinks. Dirty sponges. Freshly made drinks near used drinks. It's absolutely disgusting and couldn't possibly be up to code. Hopefully they find a better system. TIP: Free parking with validation
The food here was sooo good. There were so many options on the menu, which means I will definitely be back to try more dishes. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, even offering great recommendations to help narrow down the options. Very well lit interior and plenty of outdoor seating (although you are pretty close to pedestrians which is why we chose to sit inside). If you plan on visiting, making a reservation is highly recommended. I was seated very quickly, whereas the line for walk-ins was extremely long. The biggest downside to the experience is the parking situation, which is both expensive and overly complicated. The garage is located downstairs and requires you to scan a QR code, preselect and pay for your duration on a website, and then call a phone number just to get the entrance gate to open. It makes no sense why they do not use a traditional paper ticket or post-payment system, and there was no obvious way to get the parking validated. Sorry, I just get really annoyed when people take a perfectly fine system and just ruin it. It's not the restaurant's fault but like $25 for 45 minutes of parking is incredibly ridiculous.
The bacon here was seriously delicious. I highly recommend getting a flight. I also really enjoyed the earl grey croffle. It was sweet but not overly sweet. The coconut coffee was okay. Not something I would get again for $10. I also got the rice dish with egg. It was okay. The slow roasted beef was the highlight.
Food was great, service exemplary from wait staff to the host and everyone in between. Nothing but great things to say about everyone staffing this place. Ambiance was nice. Brightly lit and well decorated this place is amazing when you first walk through that door. Parking is metered so while I was lucky to score a spot right in front it's not my jam to go to places not knowing I'm gonna get easy parking the way we did so that's my reason for the 1 star off let's just get that squared away. Ordered the latte although they have a slew of options for coffee and tea. I just wasnt adventurous to go for drinks with fruit in them and am not a big fan of matcha, though I hear actual matcha in Japan doesnt have the bitter after taste. After surveying the menu I went with the Francis. Glad I did. It came out piping hot and had just enough bacon on it not to be too much. The eggs were light, the cornbread-like roll was a little underwhelming and too hard for my liking. The potatoes were a nice touch that was the perfect amount of saltiness in flavor that included sweet potato as well. All in all a place I'd come back to if up for the parking situation.
We chose Sweet Maple for my daughter's birthday brunch because it looked cute, classy, and perfect for a group of girls. When we stopped by the day before, I specifically asked about kid-friendly options since the girls are extremely picky eaters. I was told they could accommodate them from the kids menu which had pancakes, eggs, fruit, and meat, which was perfect. Based on that, I made a reservation through Yelp (which required a credit card hold, I would be charge $15 per person if we canceled or made reservation changes). We arrived 10 minutes early and were seated quickly. The table setup was awkward--we had to move the table ourselves just to be able to sit down, then pull the table back towards us after we sat down. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill from there. Our server Kou P. did not come across as welcoming and seemed visibly annoyed when one of the kids asked for apple juice (which they didn't have) while the others ordered water. What was most shocking and honestly inappropriate for a place like this, was Kou's skirt. It was extremely revealing to the point where it made us uncomfortable. That alone made us consider leaving, but we stayed to avoid being charged the cancellation fee. As she walked, we can see her bottom cheeks, so she was wearing nothing underneath or it was very skimpy. I feel like she made a couple points to clean the bar table so she can be looked at as she was leaning over a bit. When it came time to order, things got even more frustrating. Despite being told the day before that accommodations could be made, Kou refused to allow the kids to order from the kids' menu because they were over the age limit. She questioned their ages directly and insisted they could only share the pancake order instead. This was very disappointing for the kids. We ended up ordering a couple stacks of pancakes, which were inconsistent (one had 6, another had 8), and items we were told would be included--like blueberry marmalade--never came out. The reason is because she said the kids are picky. So she only brought out syrup, butter, whipped cream and blueberries. Service overall was bad. Our server never checked in on us, and every time we needed something, we had to flag down other staff just to get her attention. Those staff members couldn't even bring out extra syrup for us. The food itself was just okay. Our main dishes were hot, but the "Millionaire's Bacon"--which the restaurant is known for--came out cold and tasted like something I easily make at home. Definitely not worth the hype or price. To top it off, a 20% gratuity was automatically added, which felt absolutely inappropriate for the level of service we received. This was a very disappointing experience, especially for what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration for my daughter and her friends. We will never come back here!!!!!!!
Great atmosphere and amazing service. Our server was very sweet, friendly, and attentive. The location is also a big plus -- it's very close to Santa Monica Pier. Sadly the food didn't live up to the experience. The menu overall didn't feel very healthy, and the crab sandwich I ordered had very little crab -- mostly greens and onions. My friend's blueberry toast was also just okay. The latte was way too sweet. Parking was also a bit inconvenient due to nearby construction, so street parking wasn't an option and we had to use a parking lot. Nice service and location, but the food probably wouldn't bring me back.

Finally tried Sweet Maple! I'm a French toast junkie and have to try it everywhere I go. It was pretty tasty, 7/10. Only thing is it comes with a blueberry cream whip instead of maple syrup yet is already filled with a blueberry cream. Also added the potato medley on the side and it was great as well. Perfectly crisp! Tried my friend's millionaire bacon and it was delicious. Thick cut with even fat and meat proportion, huge slices. Two of us, didn't have to wait long on a Sunday around 1pm. Inside is pretty with the aesthetics, outside could improve. Glad they have parking but if you stay past the hour validation, it's like $2.50 or something per minute which is wild and disappointing. Paid almost $16 to exit the lot. Tried to order bottomless mimosa for myself, friend is sober, and they refused if we didn't both get bottomless. Friend literally ordered a decaf coffee and made clear she's sober but they are strict. I understand for a group but really! lol Service nice demeanor but very short and pushy to get out at 2:30pm. Employees convene in side section to chat, so it's weird if you're doing a normal brunch date at 1pm. Rushed vibe, probably better energy in the morning but who wants to wait for no reservation to be seated? I'd love to check it out again a different weekday and time, and be mindful of parking on the street instead. read more

Omw home from LAX and wanted a new & exciting brunch experience. Sweet Maple definitely delivered!! Parking is tricky but available, just look for the tall businesses display. 90m with validation. I had no reservation so in line it was for me. Honestly it was fairly quick & painless. I was offered counter as a party of 1, and it was comfortable and spacious. Plus it allowed me to watch the skilled & professional busywork of the staff. The beauty of the drinks being crafted was amazing! Dining tables were spaced nicely and lots of windows for lighting (there's outdoor seating too). The menu is generous (and fun) and priced very reasonable. I had the Blackstone Benedict and it was delicious. Oh! and did somebody say bacon? Wowsa they definitely know what they're doing! A guest table had a birthday and the staff were all in to celebrate (they even inspired us patrons!). Sweet Maple has a great vibe, delicious menu options, and was a perfect sunny Sunday treat. Located a few blocks from the pier on the more quiet side of Downtown. The restaurant validates for 90 minutes for the underground parking structure I think. I didn't really read the address, but can only assume as that's the only parking structure close by. It's best to make reservations online before coming here as there was a line when we got there around 12pm. But, the walk ins did end up getting a table as it wasn't too busy. Keep in mind that if you do make an online reservation, they require a credit card and will charge you $15 for each person in the party that miss the reservation time. We ended up ordering the chicken croffle, The Oscar along with the Phukett Coffee and Bombshell Shaken Espresso. The food time was about 10-15 minutes. After reading the menu, I noticed that this place had Thai inspired items. I also noticed that most of the staff are Thai. The interior has high ceilings and nicely decorated. There are also seats located outside with umbrellas to shield you from the sun. The iced Phukett Coffee was just ok in my book. It wasn't great, but it was good. Not a fan of the shredded coconut in the drink and I love coconut, but I just don't want to be drinking it as I choked on it a few times. I wasn't a big fan of the Bombshell. The fruit juices in it gave it a sourness taste which I don't enjoy with my coffee. The fried chicken was tender and juicy. The breading wasn't overly hard and I like the maple syrup that accompanied it. The croffle tasted like a croissant that was pressed in a waffle maker. I didn't hate it and enjoyed it with the syrup. The Oscar was a crab Benedict with a wasabi hollandaise. I didn't taste the wasabi, but I thought the Benedict was pretty good. Though, I did not enjoy the scone. I rather it was on an English muffin instead. The scone was too hard for me and there was a sweetness to the scone that I am not sure I thought worked with the dish. This place is a nice brunch spot, but definitely overpriced for sure. Beautiful presentations. Average in flavors.. I first tried Sweet Maple in SF. I was happy to see one here in Santa Monica. It was my friend's BD. She asked me to pick a place. I recommended this place to my friends. We parked in the parking structure, which said 90 minutes free with validation. My friend made reservation for the morning. We arrived and were seated in 5 minutes or so next to the door. One of my friends asked to switch table because she felt cold. The waiter was like he had to ask the host, but never did. I even recommended to put the other two tables together and move us to the middle. The waiter refused..odd & lame. Since it was my friend's BD, I didn't want to make a big deal. We move forward with ordering. Galbi omurice - we loved the presentation. This was the only item that we all fully enjoyed. The flavor was on point. Very flavorful, meats were very tender, eggs were great, and the rice was cooked just perfect. Francis (soufflé eggs) - we were all laughing when we realized what we ordered. There was nothing special about it besides the presentation. Like it was just puffy/cloudy eggs with some meats inside. They placed some potatoes on the side with a scone. The egg was pretty plain. I took a piece and done. I guess the potatoes were alright. We enjoyed the scone with butter more than the soufflé. Petite pancakes- very cutesy right? That was all to it..pancakes weren't fluffy or anything. Like eating mini flat breads, but a bit more chewy. Very plain. The sauce & butter do add a bit flavor to it. Marnier French toast - again, it was presented beautifully. Yet, it was boring. Inside the toast was a bit dry. The maple syrup was very sweet. It was like eating bread with sugar. We found this place while charging my car in Santa Monica walking around. We looked at the menu, and decided to go in. Upon entering, your eyes automatically go towards the decorative lighting to the left, and the cream themed open floor plan with the bar like ambience in the middle. We were greeted by the host and sat down. We noticed that this restaurant gets beautiful lighting even with the construction of the building that is currently being done. So upon further research (of asking the employee questions),I found out that this restaurant is Korean fusion (I love Korean food!!!). I ordered the Balsamic Burger (with impossible meat) served with greens and water with lemon/lime. Just something simple for a quick lunch while charging my car. It's loved the burger! Sweet goodness. Best brunch we've had in LA! Chicken Croffle - two pieces of crispy delicious fried dark meat chicken on a sweet croissant waffle. Loved the fruit and pecan melange on the plate too. We stole some hot pepper jam from the Soufflegg dish and it was epic! 5+ stars! Juicy Lucy Burger - generous amount of arugula and tomato with melty cheddar and a spattering of bacon bits, spread of hot pepper jam and lemon aioli on a sweet brioche bun. Flavor reminded me of a Father's Office Burger, but just missing the blue cheese and with more spice and a citrus note. Will get this again for sure. 5+ stars! Blackstone Benedict - delish roasted asparagus and cherry tomatoes with perfect poached eggs and Meyer lemon hollandaise and the fantastic millionaires bacon. The scone was slightly sweet and worked so well. Loved the colorful potato medley. Excellent dish. 5 stars! Millionaire Candy - what it lacked in crispiness it made up for in flavor with the sweet, salty and spicy. Definitely worth trying. 5 stars. Coconut moffle with Brie cheese - two pieces of Belgian style coconut mochi waffles with two melty pieces of Brie and a tasty housemade blueberry marmalade (more like a syrup) with truffle honey on top. They didn't mention the raspberry replacement for strawberries but it was a welcome change (and there was only a handful) although the pink sprinkles might had been dried strawberries?? I appreciated the creativity of the dish but it seemed like there were too many competing flavors between the coconut, Brie, berry and truffle. 4 stars. Mariner French toast - brûléed on top with a slight grand marnier taste. The bread is very thick so only half of it really tasted like French toast. It's good if you feel like eating a piece of good bread. It could had used a grand marnier whipped cream or marmalade jam...something. 4 stars. Savory Soufflegg - the egg was a little dry and had a slight dashi flavor. Would had preferred a more custardy flavor and texture. Nice shrimp and crispy bacon. Scone with truffle honey would had been preferred to the pepper jam. 3.5 stars. Shaken black cacao truffle - tasted like cold chocolate milk with some truffle flavor. Since the caramel was served on the glass itself it seemed like this would had been a more successful warm beverage. Very elegant drink with the gold leaf, but I guess I prefer paying for flavor over fancy. 3.5 stars. Longer wait times without reservations but excellent service and special shout out to the hostess for her friendliness. We've already been back and we'll see you again soon!!! read more

The cafe is located just outside of Santa Monica Beach! The food was great! My favorite was the blueberry croiffle. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There is a ball of cheese on the top which goes perfectly well with the sweet blueberry syrup on the croiffle. The sweet maple scramble was also really good! It comes with the millionaire bacon which is perfectly seasoned. The potatoes are sweet and crispy. Definitely recommend this place! read more

There is a line you wait in and we waited about 20 mins on a Sunday morning not too bad at all it goes pretty quick. One of the tastiest and prettiest brunches I've had! My husband doesn't usually like brunch and he said this was his favorite. We went on a Monday morning and it was super busy still, I can only imagine what weekends must be like! Tornado Galbi Omirice: hands down the most unique flavors! The egg was perfectly creamy around the delicious rice with sauce surrounding it. The tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the pickled onions were the perfect side! Cloud blueberry French toast: so amazingly delicious! It was crisp on the outside and velvety soft on the inside! Kids pancake: they made it Mickey shaped with ears and it came with a side of perfectly cooked eggs. Even my picky eater ate the whole thing! Drinks are so unique here! Asked our male server with bleached hair for suggestions since I'd never been to this restaurant. Specifically between the scrambled eggs and burger, I asked what was most popular dish, he seemed annoyed like he didn't even want to have the conversation. He said well "it's just eggs".. so I just went with the scrambled eggs plate. He was right nothing special. He never came back to check on us NOT ONCE. I had to waive him down to ask for our check which he never brought and it wasn't even busy. So I asked the hostess that seated us for the check. I would like to say the food here was exceptional! We tried the Brussel sprouts, the fried chicken, the BLTA, a stone pot, and the mochi waffle. Everything was not only beautifully presented but tasted amazing. The place is beautiful and aesthetic, a perfect place to have brunch and hang out with friends. The only thing that was lacking is the servers are a little... stuck up. They were nice enough and our food came out quickly- the person who brought out our food was so kind! Our actual server however hardly checked in on us, and he had a colder demeanor that made us feel a little unwelcome. Overall the food and ambiance was great, the servers could just be a tad more friendly. read more

Cute place in long beach not far from the beach. The area has spaces for walking and seeing the parks nearby. Inside the restaurant is white with touches of color. This was our first time coming and we all loved it! The ambiance was cute and appealing. The service was amazing- we got our food in under 10 minutes. The food was delicious. My son had the Tornado Galbi Omurice and he inhaled it. My other son had the blueberry French toast and he said he would have it again. I had the hass omelette and it was good. We also tried the Brussel sprouts w/ millionaire bacon and it was delicious. Overall, our whole experience was very positive and I plan to come back again. read more

I was really looking forward to trying this dish after seeing all the positive reviews and appetizing photos. I'm a huge fan of French toast, but unfortunately, I have to say that this particular version didn't live up to that name. It felt more like a funnel cake than anything else--deep-fried and overly sweet. I couldn't finish my plate, even though it did look quite appealing. I brought my concerns to the server, but she simply apologized and seemed to move on. The atmosphere of the place is lovely, but if you're craving traditional French toast, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. What I had was definitely more akin to a funnel cake. read more

It was a girls lunch date day. Ambiance of the place is nice. Nice big windows to let in a lot light. Parking was within the building, a little confusing when you exit out of the elevator. To be honest, I've only been once. And I do not eat red meat or pork. So I do feel like my review might be slightly bias . My friends are bacon eaters and loved the bacon. Said it was worth coming here. They also ordered Mamosa Flights. And a friend & I both ordered the roasted matcha drink- delicious. I'm glad we got here early because they got busy quick and there was a long line waiting to be seated by the time we left. A fun twist on American breakfast. Everything on the menu sounded amazing and everything we ordered did no disappoint. No dish was safe with us. I absolutely remember coming in for brunch if you're in the area. Fancy place for breakfast where you can have corporate meetings and meet people with an upscale atmosphere. Well, you are at the right place. Sweet Maple is the great neighborhood of Santa Monica. Santa Monica used to be my work location few years back and coming here gives me nostalgic feeling every time. Full glass doors with ample lighting. Metered parking available on the street, but there seems to be an underground parking and you can get it validated at the restaurant which I was not aware of. The menu is short and sweet. The service is excellent here. We tried bunch of items, the famous bacon, chicken and waffles, scrambled eggs with chicken sausage. The French toast is the icing on the top of all this. Super thick, fluffy, salty and sweet. All the items were flavorful and savory. Definitely recommend this place when you visit the area. Cost of each of the items is north of 20+ dollars but certainly worth it for the location, atmosphere and quality of the food. read more

I lived in the Bay Area for many years, and Sweet Maple is a well known, Tier-1 breakfast and brunch spot in the bay. I'm so happy that they've expanded to Santa Monica! Pricey? Sure. But top-notch quality and service? Absolutely. The prices are justified. Sweet Maple is a treat. The concept is a fun, elevated brunch experience. And everything is so fresh, flavorful, unique, and delicious. You can expect some of the most mouth-watering and original breakfast plates here. Let's get to the service. This is my first visit to this restaurant. It is April 24, 2025. I'm in Santa Monica on personal recreational travel and staying at a hotel within walking distance, so I cannot comment on parking but I think it would be available. The decor and lighting is fantastic. It's modern, clean looking, comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was here for breakfast. I had eggs Benedict, which was accompanied by what they described as millionaires bacon. I'm actually not sure what that means but I can say that this bacon is tasty. The eggs were poached to absolute perfection. The coffee was complex, and very enjoyable. The price matches the quality and the location, after all, this is Oceanside dining. Overall: Hard to rate this place because it is quite expensive for food that looks great but is really very very typical. I think given how expensive the food is and how little imagination/creativity went into them I unfortunately couldn't justify a higher rating. Food: billionaires bacon was you'd expect just a chunkier piece of bacon probably baked with maple syrup. The ramen it came with was decorated quite nicely but again the dish itself is nothing extravagant or different. The mini stack pancakes were quite pleasant to see as there was many tiny layers cooked quite well but still just pancakes. If the food looks good but is no different than its original form then it's hard to get the appeal. Lastly the omurice was perhaps the one highlight. The flavors captured were a little extra than your typical Demi glacé curry esq sauce. The eggs were cooked quite fluffy but again nothing too out of the usual. Ambience/Decor/Service: the restaurant itself is decorated quite nice with nice white countertops and tables like a European seaside restaurant. I finally had some time to stop by this place for a delicious brunch with my friend! It was in my bookmarks for a while. But the server left us waiting over 45 minutes for our check. Food Millionaire bacon: Delicious. Recommend getting this. The souffled egg: Fluffy but could be a bit more moist. Blueberry cloud french toast: SO good. Get this. It is sweet though, so if you have a sweet tooth it's perfect. The raspberry lemonade was decent. It tasted like raspberry flavor more than real fruit. The peach juice was alright. It was sweet, but may be best for cocktails. The server forgot about us as soon as we sat down and for the whole meal. When he finally came by, we had to flag him to look in our direction to ask for the menu and the check. He took another twenty minutes to produce the check after we asked. He didn't apologize and the whole exchange was awkward. Parking is offered in the garage. There is outdoor seating which is great. There are heat lamps which help with the ambiance and warmth. As a Bay Area native, I was stoked to discover that Sweet Maple opened a location in Santa Monica. This spot is a true San Francisco gem. My boyfriend and I came for brunch. I'm usually not a fan of bacon, but their Millionaire's Bacon is chef's kiss. I highly recommend trying this if you're a first timer here. I ordered the Blackstone Benedict, which comes with the bacon, and it was absolutely fresh and delicious. My boyfriend enjoyed the BTLA sandwich. Bonus points for their bottomless mimosas - they have multiple flavors and our server let us switch it up after every refill. Their service is undoubtedly good and super friendly, truly reminiscent of the SF locations where they radiate family owned vibes. I was so excited to try this place, but unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations at all. On a busy weekend brunch day, I decided to try it out. I was able to get a seat, but service took so, so long and my server wasn't the nicest. I ordered an Ube latte and received it pretty quickly, however, when it came to the food, it took forever. First of all, they gave my order, the Farm Fresh Egg Plate with Millionaire's Bacon, to the woman next to me and she kept complaining that she didn't order the Millionaire's bacon and she didn't like eating it either. I had to ask my server for where my order was twice and then they gave me the other woman's order, which just had regular bacon. Finally, they figured out what happened and they had to completely remake BOTH of our dishes. When I finally got my Farm Fresh Egg Plate, it was disappointing. The plate wasn't anything special and sadly, I don't think the Millionaire's bacon lived up to the hype. read more

Food: really spectacular - yes, there's a high price tag, but I think you really get what you pay for. The Blueberry cloud French toast was crispy and filled with a surprise custard, the Oscar Benedict was filled generously with crab, and the bacon was sweet and delicious (though I may prefer it to be a bit more crispy). I love that this is an Asian inspired/fusion brunch spot. I had the iced oat hojicha latte was really good and strong flavor. It's so good that I could see myself swinging by here just to pick up a latte if I'm not hungry. I also tried the coconut waffle with Brie. I liked that it was nice and light.
