The food here was sooo good. There were so many options on the menu, which means I will definitely be back to try more dishes. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, even offering great recommendations to help narrow down the options. Very well lit interior and plenty of outdoor seating (although you are pretty close to pedestrians which is why we chose to sit inside). If you plan on visiting, making a reservation is highly recommended. I was seated very quickly, whereas the line for walk-ins was extremely long. The biggest downside to the experience is the parking situation, which is both expensive and overly complicated. The garage is located downstairs and requires you to scan a QR code, preselect and pay for your duration on a website, and then call a phone number just to get the entrance gate to open. It makes no sense why they do not use a traditional paper ticket or post-payment system, and there was no obvious way to get the parking validated. Sorry, I just get really annoyed when people take a perfectly fine system and just ruin it. It's not the restaurant's fault but like $25 for 45 minutes of parking is incredibly ridiculous.
The bacon here was seriously delicious. I highly recommend getting a flight. I also really enjoyed the earl grey croffle. It was sweet but not overly sweet. The coconut coffee was okay. Not something I would get again for $10. I also got the rice dish with egg. It was okay. The slow roasted beef was the highlight.
Food was great, service exemplary from wait staff to the host and everyone in between. Nothing but great things to say about everyone staffing this place. Ambiance was nice. Brightly lit and well decorated this place is amazing when you first walk through that door. Parking is metered so while I was lucky to score a spot right in front it's not my jam to go to places not knowing I'm gonna get easy parking the way we did so that's my reason for the 1 star off let's just get that squared away. Ordered the latte although they have a slew of options for coffee and tea. I just wasnt adventurous to go for drinks with fruit in them and am not a big fan of matcha, though I hear actual matcha in Japan doesnt have the bitter after taste. After surveying the menu I went with the Francis. Glad I did. It came out piping hot and had just enough bacon on it not to be too much. The eggs were light, the cornbread-like roll was a little underwhelming and too hard for my liking. The potatoes were a nice touch that was the perfect amount of saltiness in flavor that included sweet potato as well. All in all a place I'd come back to if up for the parking situation.
Great atmosphere and amazing service. Our server was very sweet, friendly, and attentive. The location is also a big plus -- it's very close to Santa Monica Pier. Sadly the food didn't live up to the experience. The menu overall didn't feel very healthy, and the crab sandwich I ordered had very little crab -- mostly greens and onions. My friend's blueberry toast was also just okay. The latte was way too sweet. Parking was also a bit inconvenient due to nearby construction, so street parking wasn't an option and we had to use a parking lot. Nice service and location, but the food probably wouldn't bring me back.
We chose Sweet Maple for my daughter's birthday brunch because it looked cute, classy, and perfect for a group of girls. When we stopped by the day before, I specifically asked about kid-friendly options since the girls are extremely picky eaters. I was told they could accommodate them from the kids menu which had pancakes, eggs, fruit, and meat, which was perfect. Based on that, I made a reservation through Yelp (which required a credit card hold, I would be charge $15 per person if we canceled or made reservation changes). We arrived 10 minutes early and were seated quickly. The table setup was awkward--we had to move the table ourselves just to be able to sit down, then pull the table back towards us after we sat down. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill from there. Our server Kou P. did not come across as welcoming and seemed visibly annoyed when one of the kids asked for apple juice (which they didn't have) while the others ordered water. What was most shocking and honestly inappropriate for a place like this, was Kou's skirt. It was extremely revealing to the point where it made us uncomfortable. That alone made us consider leaving, but we stayed to avoid being charged the cancellation fee. As she walked, we can see her bottom cheeks, so she was wearing nothing underneath or it was very skimpy. I feel like she made a couple points to clean the bar table so she can be looked at as she was leaning over a bit. When it came time to order, things got even more frustrating. Despite being told the day before that accommodations could be made, Kou refused to allow the kids to order from the kids' menu because they were over the age limit. She questioned their ages directly and insisted they could only share the pancake order instead. This was very disappointing for the kids. We ended up ordering a couple stacks of pancakes, which were inconsistent (one had 6, another had 8), and items we were told would be included--like blueberry marmalade--never came out. The reason is because she said the kids are picky. So she only brought out syrup, butter, whipped cream and blueberries. Service overall was bad. Our server never checked in on us, and every time we needed something, we had to flag down other staff just to get her attention. Those staff members couldn't even bring out extra syrup for us. The food itself was just okay. Our main dishes were hot, but the "Millionaire's Bacon"--which the restaurant is known for--came out cold and tasted like something I easily make at home. Definitely not worth the hype or price. To top it off, a 20% gratuity was automatically added, which felt absolutely inappropriate for the level of service we received. This was a very disappointing experience, especially for what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration for my daughter and her friends. We will never come back here!!!!!!!
This place has turned into somewhat of a tourist destination. I mean the food was average. The staff are super nice and attentive. Everything was overpriced IMO. I'm not one to talk about overpriced for a family business, but if the food is top notch, I wouldn't complain. The ambience is busy, but folks are friendly. A friend recommended the place for the French Toast . It's good but overpriced and sweet. Most things are add-ons. I've had millionaires bacon, and I generally make my own. Located near the Santa Monica pier. There were a few parking structures near by but the nearest one was closed so we parked at SP + parking and walked over. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating. The store was clean and nicely decorated. A very nice spot for brunch with friends. A lot of people were celebrating birthdays when we were there. I ordered the sizzling stone pot. It was great. Lots of flavor. The food all came out looking amazing. The pear juice was good as well.
A cute brunch spot within walking distance of Santa Monica beach. The interior is modern, bright, and cozy. The service was great. You do definitely pay for the prime location with the average entree being over $25. Nonetheless, I was intrigued by all the Korean inspired brunch offerings. I got the sizzling stone pot with tofu. The tofu was satisfyingly crispy and the all the different veggies brought nice texture and freshness to the dish. The main sauce combining everything together was sriracha, which was solid but I would have loved something a bit more interesting. To drink I had the fresh pear juice. It was light, not too sweet, and refreshing.
To begin, this place is amazing. The bright interior is a nice touch. On sunny days, outdoor seating is offered. The servers stay busy keeping the customers glasses full. The food is top notch. The French toast has a bruleed top that adds crunch and flavor. The egg plate with the millionaire bacon is the way to go. The thick slice bacon is something you need to try. The potatoes have a nice flavorful crust on the outside with tender insides. I'm not a big fan of scones but these are made in house and are worth trying. They also serve top shelf tea either hot or cold..delicious. Definitely returning to try other menu items.
First, I love the atmosphere. Very bright, charming decor and the staff is very cheery. The menu is full of delectable items, so I'll come back to try more dishes. We opted for the Millionaire's Bacon, brussel sprouts with bacon and the Earl Grey Blueberry croffle: a waffle topped with burrata surrounded by tasty blueberries. The croffle was delicious. The sprouts were just okay (with an odd, bland rice puff that reminded me of packing popcorn). The bacon was decadent, and had a zing to it (maybe rate it more like $100 grand, since it lacked some crunch). I enjoyed their pear juice, while my partner thoroughly enjoyed her oat hojicha latte. Worth a visit.

Sweet Maple is an Asian fusion brunch spot a few steps away from the Santa Monica Pier. They can accommodate larger parties, but can get busy so it's best to make reservation. The closest parking for Sweet Maple is the Santa Monica Place parking lot. For the food: They bring together the flavors of Filipino, Thai and Korean cuisine. There will certainly be dishes to please everyone in the party. The dishes are decadent, so I'd recommend ordering family-style to share with the table. Amazing place for brunch and lunch! We had 8 celebrating a birthday! Service was very attentive and drinks are amazing it's a light and bright place with outdoor patio seating available too! The menu is a good mix of Asian fusion and American faves available - I had the waffles and chicken which came with a 3 stack of fried boneless chicken on top of a waffle! Good service, great vibe, tasty food, and free parking in Santa Monica. What more can one ask for. We arrived on Saturday around 12:30 without a reservation. There was a line at the door but we waited less than 20 minutes before we were seated. As with all the staff here, the hostess was friendly and efficient. The wait staff was very attentive. I was quickly asked if I needed anything every time my eyes met one of the wait staff as I was looking around the dining room. Some of the items in the menu had some decidedly Korean influence but most are familiar brunch items. The chicken and croffle was decent if the chicken could've been a bit more flavorful. Fancy place for breakfast and brunch. French toasts are both pretty and tasty, massive bricks to be stuffed and deep fried (at least the blueberry cloud) yet still be soft inside. Not as sold on the Millionaire's bacon, but it is a very good thick cut of bacon. Kitchen is crazy quick too. Dining room is bright with large windows and very contemporary, although it can get loud, especially when full and with people celebrating special occasions. We visited this breakfast restaurant on a beautiful Saturday morning. We enjoyed the bottomless mimosa and food, the decor of the restaurant is bright with comfortable seating, There is seating indoors as well as outdoor. The patio area is from the front of the restaurant the side of the restaurant. The food was good. I had the killer Cesar salad and my guess had the BLT sandwich with fries. Nan was our server on this busy Saturday afternoon. There is bar seating area, which we opted for while waiting for the patio seating. Once there was a patio seating available to moved to the patio to enjoy the weather. The guava mimosa is a show stopper. One of the waiter suggested this mimosa and it was a great suggestion for us. They didn't give me a great avocado piece but, they redid the cold food and their mini pancakes were a hit for sure. Not too much of a fan of the tea but I would return to enjoy more food! I love Sweet Maple! It's an excellent brunch restaurant with a wide variety of options to suit different preferences. The Asian fusion menu is fun and interesting. There are some classic dishes, some with light Asian influences that may not even be noticeable, and on the other end of the range there are Asian dishes with an American brunch twist. I've tried quite a few dishes here! Here are some highlights: - Millionaire's Bacon - there is a flight with 4 pieces of their signature baked thick bacon, each piece featuring different seasonings. The bacon is delicious! It's thick and chewy, not thin and crispy. The flavors are thoughtfully composed. I think the original is pretty great as is, but the flight was fun to taste and share! One original order is $15, and the flight is $25. - Soufflegg Skillets - I've had the Francis and the Savory options. There is a vegetarian option as well. The egg is steamed with soy, fish sauce and sesame oil. The flavor is subtle. The toppings were placed on top of the egg. The potato medley has a really nice flavor! I usually dip breakfast potatoes in ketchup, but I didn't need to with these. It also came with a scone, and I added the hot pepper bacon jam for $2, which had a nice kick but wasn't too spicy. These range from $25-27. - Tornado Galbi Omurice - This is always a favorite amongst me and my friends! The scrambled egg is beautifully presented around the rice. The sauce is delicious. This can be done with tofu instead of short rib. This dish is $27. - Blueberry Cloud French Toast - The blueberry cream makes this for me! This is a really satisfying sweet dish and it's actually not overly sweet. The toast is thick but it has a really nice light texture. A few other shoutouts: - Chicken Croffle - excellent balance of crispy chicken and croissant waffle. - The Pimped Up Ramyun is a fun dish. It is and feels like comfort food! - The sandwiches are beautiful and the fries are good! - The coffee is also great. The specialty drinks are expensive but there are great options available to those that enjoy a special drink, including an ube latte (no coffee). They have alternative milks available. The space feels open with a lot of natural light coming in. There is a parking lot they can validate for up to 90 minutes of free parking. Reservations are easy to make right here on Yelp. If you're celebrating a birthday, they have a hilarious birthday presentation with music. This can end up pricey if you order more than an entree + a drink, so I would consider this a treat meal and not a super regular brunch spot. But the uniqueness and the quality and variety of food here make it worth it for me! read more

I found this place on Yelp because I was heading to the airport to drop off my niece and we wanted to grab something to eat before I dropped her off. This place popped up and I had never heard of it nor have I ever been in this area to dine and it looked really great from the reviews. We definitely were very impressed by the food and the presentation and the service of this place. I would've given them five stars but they messed up on my niece's entrée and added cheese to her omelette and we didn't have time to wait so thankfully she ate it. They also forgot to tell me they validate so some time was wasted walking back and forth since we had to head to the LAX on a rainy day. This place is secretly on the bottom of the ground floor of residential condos and there is parking downstairs conveniently underground. Make sure you validate before you leave. I didn't know they validated it and had to return back to the restaurant to do so I definitely will go back and I recommend trying out the delicious food. You won't be disappointed! Everyone was ordering the famous French toast so I will have to try that one next time. I ordered the fried chicken on the waffles which was really a specially made croissant with Real maple syrup. Made a reservation for brunch and I was blown away by several things: 1. The service was immaculate. Our waitress, Nancy, made sure we always had what we needed and gave great recommendations. My friend and I tried the bottomless mimosa special and were never left with an empty glass. There was also no rush to leave the table once our food was finished. 2. The food was incredible. We both tried a different omelette and rated each a 10/10. Highly recommended the Bay Bottom Omelette if you like dungenese crab we tried the guava mimosas and loved the flavor - not too sweet and a good ratio of champs. They also have really cute mimosa flights we want to come back for ! 3. The environment was also gorgeous and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Street parking was super easy as well. Finally tried Sweet Maple! I'm a French toast junkie and have to try it everywhere I go. It was pretty tasty, 7/10. Only thing is it comes with a blueberry cream whip instead of maple syrup yet is already filled with a blueberry cream. Also added the potato medley on the side and it was great as well. Perfectly crisp! Tried my friend's millionaire bacon and it was delicious. Thick cut with even fat and meat proportion, huge slices. Two of us, didn't have to wait long on a Sunday around 1pm. Inside is pretty with the aesthetics, outside could improve. Glad they have parking but if you stay past the hour validation, it's like $2.50 or something per minute which is wild and disappointing. Paid almost $16 to exit the lot. Tried to order bottomless mimosa for myself, friend is sober, and they refused if we didn't both get bottomless. Friend literally ordered a decaf coffee and made clear she's sober but they are strict. I understand for a group but really! lol Service nice demeanor but very short and pushy to get out at 2:30pm. Employees convene in side section to chat, so it's weird if you're doing a normal brunch date at 1pm. Rushed vibe, probably better energy in the morning but who wants to wait for no reservation to be seated? I'd love to check it out again a different weekday and time, and be mindful of parking on the street instead. read more

Omw home from LAX and wanted a new & exciting brunch experience. Sweet Maple definitely delivered!! Parking is tricky but available, just look for the tall businesses display. 90m with validation. I had no reservation so in line it was for me. Honestly it was fairly quick & painless. I was offered counter as a party of 1, and it was comfortable and spacious. Plus it allowed me to watch the skilled & professional busywork of the staff. The beauty of the drinks being crafted was amazing! Dining tables were spaced nicely and lots of windows for lighting (there's outdoor seating too). The menu is generous (and fun) and priced very reasonable. I had the Blackstone Benedict and it was delicious. Oh! and did somebody say bacon? Wowsa they definitely know what they're doing! A guest table had a birthday and the staff were all in to celebrate (they even inspired us patrons!). Sweet Maple has a great vibe, delicious menu options, and was a perfect sunny Sunday treat. Booked this spot on a whim as they looked really tasty from pictures and accepted reservations through Yelp and wasn't disappointed! Really loved the location (a block from the beach and within walking distance to the pier). The space was so nice and so bright, but super super busy. They take walk ins but I recommend getting a ressie as they sat us immediately. It's a delicious Asian Fusion brunch spot so not your typical brunch, but still having a spin on brunch classics. They offer bottomless mimosas, but your entire table needs to get it. I opted for the Millionaires Mary because it comes with their famous bacon, which was super delicious and thick cut. We also got the Who wants to be a millionaire shots, which comes with 2 shots per order and some of the delicious bacon again. My buddy got a Spicy Micheladas which came with the crispy rice paper snack on top. Food wise, everything was a hit, from the Sizzling Stonepot to the Jam Juicy Lucy Burger, but the standout for me was the Tornado Galbi Omurice. A must get as it was super hearty, delicious, and sharable, but the same could be said for all the dishes we got. The Marniers French Toast and Crispy Brussels sprouts were also a hit. My one critique of the Brussels would be that as opposed to full Brussels sprouts, they use the leaves, which makes it not have as much of a bite and is more crispy. It comes with mochi and bacon, which were excellent touches, but are served in a small bowl with a serving spoon, but with the volume of leaves, bacon, and mochi, everything falls out onto the table when you try to scoop. It was still a good dish, but should be plated differently to not make a mess. Everything else was great, from the service, to the location, to the food. 10/10 will come again. read more

Came without a reservation for Sunday Brunch and there wasn't too much of a wait for walk ins. The atmosphere was nice but the food was lacking. Maybe we just had high expectations from the other reviews or we ordered the wrong things. We got the millionaires bacon, sesame einspanner, tornado omurice and the blueberry French toast. The sesame einspanner was weird as the sesame foam didn't completely melt into the coffee after mixing and it just coagulated into chunks that floated on the surface. The omurice was ok, with the sauce tasting more like bbq than demiglace. The French toast was honestly kinda gross, it was akin to deep fried funnel cake you'd get at the fairgrounds, but topped with cream cheese. Very very heavy and smells greasy. The best thing we ordered was probably the bacon. read more

Not sure how this place isn't blowing up with 5 stars! Boy have I been sleeping on Sweet Maple. Don't let the construction deter you from this incredible brunch spot. Ambiance is mid to upper level casual so you'll get away wearing something nice or something comfortable. Very clean establishment with modern furniture, fixtures, and lots of seating options. Service was excellent and attentive. Now.. the FOOD. Lots of options for brunch that are carefully crafted to infuse Asian inspired flavors and ingredients- even the drinks! I can't believe I've only now experienced the concept of Asian inspired brunch! I had the Phuket coffee (incredible) and the savory egg soufflé with a side of potatoes. It was a very generous portion that was all cooked to perfection with the right amount of seasonings and spices. Other dishes looked intriguing so I'm very excited to try those out in the future. Sweet Maple is a refreshing brunch spot with innovative Asian fusion dishes that leaves you wanting to come back to try more. The decor is really nice giving the brunch/tea party vibes. The prices are higher, but the intricate dishes and flavors I think are worth it. Even with minor hiccups, this has become one of my favorite brunch spots in West LA. We started with a Millionaire's Mary which is a pre-mixed drink so when we asked for extra spicy, they weren't able to do that but gave us tobasco to add ourselves. The bloody tasted very faintly of any alcohol but the bacon was amazing. There's something delicious about eating cold meat and the fat from the bacon gave that extra savoriness to the drink. The braised short ribs was mildly tender but nothing some sauce can't fix. Pickled onions was a nice add on to bring some sourness. Oscar Benedict $34.00 - I really loved the wasabi hollandaise here. Gave the creamy sauce a little kick. There was a decent amount of crab on top and it was overall a delicious dish. Coconut Moffle with Brie Cheese $20 - The moffle were incredible! Food was delicious! Chicken Croffle : The chicken was flavorful and crunchy. I'm obsessed with croissants so having it turned into a waffle that was maple flavored was everything to me. Mariner French Toast : was so fluffy and soft. Service : Staff and workers were so kind and attentive. We came in 1 hr before closing and still welcomed in with smiles. The only downside is the tables are a bit small, and with multiple plates, it felt a little cramped. Parking is metered street parking, so plan accordingly. Asked our male server with bleached hair for suggestions since I'd never been to this restaurant. Specifically between the scrambled eggs and burger, I asked what was most popular dish, he seemed annoyed like he didn't even want to have the conversation. He said well "it's just eggs".. so I just went with the scrambled eggs plate. He was right nothing special. He never came back to check on us NOT ONCE. I had to waive him down to ask for our check which he never brought and it wasn't even busy. So I asked the hostess that seated us for the check. Located a few blocks from the pier on the more quiet side of Downtown. The restaurant validates for 90 minutes for the underground parking structure I think. I didn't really read the address, but can only assume as that's the only parking structure close by. It's best to make reservations online before coming here as there was a line when we got there around 12pm. But, the walk ins did end up getting a table as it wasn't too busy. Keep in mind that if you do make an online reservation, they require a credit card and will charge you $15 for each person in the party that miss the reservation time. We ended up ordering the chicken croffle, The Oscar along with the Phukett Coffee and Bombshell Shaken Espresso. The food time was about 10-15 minutes. After reading the menu, I noticed that this place had Thai inspired items. I also noticed that most of the staff are Thai. The interior has high ceilings and nicely decorated. There are also seats located outside with umbrellas to shield you from the sun. The iced Phukett Coffee was just ok in my book. It wasn't great, but it was good. Not a fan of the shredded coconut in the drink and I love coconut, but I just don't want to be drinking it as I choked on it a few times. I wasn't a big fan of the Bombshell. The fruit juices in it gave it a sourness taste which I don't enjoy with my coffee. The fried chicken was tender and juicy. The breading wasn't overly hard and I like the maple syrup that accompanied it. The croffle tasted like a croissant that was pressed in a waffle maker. I didn't hate it and enjoyed it with the syrup. The Oscar was a crab Benedict with a wasabi hollandaise. I didn't taste the wasabi, but I thought the Benedict was pretty good. Though, I did not enjoy the scone. I rather it was on an English muffin instead. The scone was too hard for me and there was a sweetness to the scone that I am not sure I thought worked with the dish. This place is a nice brunch spot, but definitely overpriced for sure. I would like to say that I would be back, but with the price and the food not really blowing my mind, I probably will not be back. read more

Beautiful presentations. Average in flavors.. I first tried Sweet Maple in SF. I was happy to see one here in Santa Monica. It was my friend's BD. She asked me to pick a place. I recommended this place to my friends. We parked in the parking structure, which said 90 minutes free with validation. My friend made reservation for the morning. We arrived and were seated in 5 minutes or so next to the door. One of my friends asked to switch table because she felt cold. The waiter was like he had to ask the host, but never did. I even recommended to put the other two tables together and move us to the middle. The waiter refused..odd & lame. Since it was my friend's BD, I didn't want to make a big deal. We move forward with ordering. Galbi omurice - we loved the presentation. This was the only item that we all fully enjoyed. The flavor was on point. Very flavorful, meats were very tender, eggs were great, and the rice was cooked just perfect. Francis (soufflé eggs) - we were all laughing when we realized what we ordered. There was nothing special about it besides the presentation. Like it was just puffy/cloudy eggs with some meats inside. They placed some potatoes on the side with a scone. The egg was pretty plain. I took a piece and done. I guess the potatoes were alright. We enjoyed the scone with butter more than the soufflé. Petite pancakes- very cutesy right? That was all to it..pancakes weren't fluffy or anything. Like eating mini flat breads, but a bit more chewy. Very plain. The sauce & butter do add a bit flavor to it. Marnier French toast - again, it was presented beautifully. Yet, it was boring. Inside the toast was a bit dry. The maple syrup was very sweet. It was like eating bread with sugar. We found this place while charging my car in Santa Monica walking around. We looked at the menu, and decided to go in. Upon entering, your eyes automatically go towards the decorative lighting to the left, and the cream themed open floor plan with the bar like ambience in the middle. We were greeted by the host and sat down. We noticed that this restaurant gets beautiful lighting even with the construction of the building that is currently being done. So upon further research (of asking the employee questions),I found out that this restaurant is Korean fusion (I love Korean food!!!). I ordered the Balsamic Burger (with impossible meat) served with greens and water with lemon/lime. Just something simple for a quick lunch while charging my car. It's loved the burger!
