Here's another place I've waited and waited to review, because I've kept ordering delivery and takeout without actually visiting the place. These last couple years, though, delivery choices really count, and the food is so consistently excellent that it's crazy to put this off any longer. Yesterday we ordered a bunch of sandwiches and wings for a birthday get-together. Even though almost everyone there drives along 128th on a near-daily basis, nobody had heard of 9D. As other reviewers have noted, it's super easy to miss seeing this place even if you're right there. As soon as we opened the bags and boxes and you could smell the chicken, though, everybody's interest level shot way up. We got boneless wings and thighs, plus bone-in wings, and couple of us couldn't resist adding the KFC sandwiches. Every type of chicken on the table was amazing--not too much breading, plenty of flavor, cooked perfectly, still juicy. Just what you want from fried chicken in any style. And it's always like this. It seemed like they used to have some more crazy fusion dishes on the menu, though I can't remember what they might have been, so I could be imagining this. It doesn't matter whether they focused on KFC this much before, though, because I just wanna keep ordering it all the time now. So damn good, and for very fair prices. We just had piles of it yesterday and I am already craving it again. The dipping sauces are just out-of-control good, too. If you love KFC or just fried chicken in general, then you need to come here! I would say it's a bit of a hidden gem b/c it's at the end of a strip mall and can be easily missed! Their Korean fried chicken is sooooo crispy, juicy and yummy! I love that you can order half and half. I really enjoyed the original but I loved the sweet and spicy sauce...it's addicting! Their friend chicken sandwich is HUGE! The boneless chicken bite plate is the perfect combo. It comes with honey garlic chicken, rice, spicy cucumber salad and mac salad. One of my favorite items was the bulgogi melt. It just had really nice flavor and I couldn't stop eating it! Oh and don't sleep on the fries, they're nice and crispy! Cute little spot near Albertsons, tucked way in the north corner of the plaza. It's very clean and organized here. You order at the front, grab your napkins/utensils afterwards and seat yourself. Some of the things ordered for my dinner: Korean fried chicken bites- Honey garlic sauce + Korean sweet & spicy sauce. Definitely recommend, it's super crunchy and the inside is real juicy chicken meat. 12/$12! Bulgogi plate served with glass noodle and choice of two sixes- I chose the spicy cucumber salad and housemade kimchi. The kimchi was okay, I like mine very spicy and tangy. The cucumber salad was similar to a slaw. The bulgogi on the other hand was very tender and delicious. It was served with coconut jasmine rice. My boyfriend had the braised pork shoulder sandwich and thought it was delicious. It was served with two shrimp chips I believe. Delicious! We picked up a half & half Korean fried chicken (half sweet and spicy; half honey garlic), a pork belly plate, the snow fries, pickled beet and green beans, and some house made ginger lemonades. Where do I even start? Pork belly plate: generous portions of juicy, tender pork belly served with probably some of the most delicious (green!) rice I've ever received in a take-out box. The sides also were nice and refreshing and paired well with the meat. Korean fried chicken: I was pleasantly surprised to find they were boneless! They're fried extra crisp and held up well in transport as we brought the food home to eat. Sometimes with fried chicken I feel like they lose their crunchiness or are simply too soggy and batter-heavy to begin with, but that was not the case with this! I'm a huge fan of spicy sauces, but actually really enjoyed the honey garlic as well. Sides (Snow fries, side dishes, lemonades): All were great. I remember when I lived in Korea you could buy "shaker fries" from McDonald's where you'd be served fries in a paper bag and sprinkle in the topping of your choice before shaking the bag to coat the fries in the powder. The snow fries are very reminiscent of that, and I loved the aioli sauce that came with! The sides were light and sweet, as were the lemonades. We saw the reviews for this place, so we decided to try it. My husband got the original chicken and added slaw, I got the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich. The breading is nice and crunchy. This was one of the best chicken sandwiches we've had. Personally, I liked my sweet and spicy better, it was so delicious, but both were really good. Such a cute little place with honestly the best chicken sandwich I have had in awhile. My favorite flavor for any Korean chicken joint is soy garlic so when I saw it in a sandwich form , I had to get it. The bun was fresh, coleslaw was refreshing and the soy garlic chicken patty was perfect ! I also got the watermelon lemonade, it was not overly sweet which I loved, super refreshing as well. After a long bike ride, we decided to check this place out for lunch. It is counter service style so you order and pay first and they will bring out food for you. The girl that took our order was very nice and gave us suggestions on what to get. We ended up getting the Korean fried chicken 6 piece, with half the spicy sauce and half the garlic sauce. We also got a rice plate with the menchi katsu and our two sides were the quinoa salad and the beets with beans salad. We also got an extra side of Kim chi as well. The chicken was like little chicken tenders so no bones. Even though it was drenched in sauce, it still has a nice crispy texture. I like the garlic version better because the spicy one was a little too sweet for my taste. The plate was humongous. I definitely love the cilantro infused rice, very flavorful. The katsu was ok, I didn't like the sauce that it came with, too thick and lack the flavor of katsu sauce. The sides were good though, the quinoa was definitely my favorite. They also have sauce on the side that you can use and the spicy sauce definitely has a kick and the flavor was very good! The price was also very reasonable as well. A Korean fusion restaurant, 9 Delicacies serves up a variety of lunch and dinner options with an additional catering menu. The restaurant can be a bit hard to spot as it's tucked away in the corner of the strip mall, but there's usually plenty of parking available out front. Once inside, it's definitely an intimate space with only about two-three tables - it seems like the majority of visitors order takeout at this restaurant. We decided to go with the: - Bulgogi Ribeye Plate - The marination was great and my boyfriend liked that he could choose his sides, but was on the fence about the amount. I think it would've been perfect with juuuuust a little more bulgogi. - Braised Pork Shoulder Sandwich - Loved the flavor of this sandwich! The pork shoulder was tender, and the kimchee adds just the right kick with the jalapenos. The sandwich itself was HUGE and I had a hard time finishing it by myself, haha. - Garlic Lime Chicken Wings - FYI, the Korean Fried Chicken here is actually boneless and not what we traditionally think of when it comes to KFC. The restaurant instead recommended the Garlic Lime Chicken Wings since we wanted actual wings. Just discovered this place on yelp tonight and was very intrigued by the korean "fusion" idea. Korean husband loves korean fried chicken so he wasn't too hard to sway. He ordered both the garlic lime one and the spicy sweet one. He loved both. He will want to get then again for sure. Bestie got the fried chicken sandwich thing and really enjoyed it. She said it was quite spicy but the slaw cut the spice and made it perfect. I had the veggie sandwich with avocado and grilled onions and all kinds of yum. It was DELICIOUS. Don't be fooled by the meaty selections... there are veggie options hiding. We all shared tots and they were a little too crispy for my taste but still good. I like the spicy sauce it came with. Came in for lunch with my son today, wanted to get some Korean BBQ after doing a quick search of yelp. Walking in I was surprised how small the inside of the place is, it can probably hold 12 people max inside so if you're with a large group it might be difficult. The menu is pretty limited with its selection and the side dishes didn't really tickle my fancy too much. All that being said we ordered the Bulgogi sandwich and the bulgogi ribeye. The food was very tasty and filled us both up. I also fell in love with the tater tots my son had with his sandwich, they were amazing! I wasn't super impressed with this place but I would probably give it another try if someone wanted to take me there for some food. A lunch stop en route to Bellingham seemed like the perfect opportunity to pop by, so we did just that. It's located in a very unassuming strip mall behind a McDonald's. BF & I both ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich which was easily the best rendition I've ever had. I ordered the 5 piece spicy fried chicken. It comes with a side of waffle fries and salad. The thigh meat is deboned, and cut in irregular 1" chunks ). The chicken is then put through a frying process that has several steps making the coating crisp and light while the meat is moist and tender. I wasn't a fan of the sweet and spicy sauce on the chicken pieces. It was gloopy and didn't have much flavor. The honey garlic sauce was applied more sparingly, but it just kind of tasted sweet. I did like the batter on the chicken. But they use chicken thigh, and I think I prefer white meat. The fries were totally different than I was expecting.
