What can I say, who doesn't love a dessert shop? I had the peanut butter swirl ice cream, and I never would have put the two together, but it was delicious 5/5! My dad got the hot fudge brownie sundae, and said that was 5/5. My mom got the sweet and salty cupcake and gave it a 4/5, saying it was tasty and the frosting was delicious, yet the cake was a little dry (granted we went right before close so not the peak freshness). Good portion sizes, great selection. The line was out the door about 40 minutes before close, yet the girls working handled it beautifully; they were very efficient at taking orders and polite about not eating in the lobby. OBSESSED! I would like to say I'm a some what of an ice cream connoisseur . I love stopping by moms' and pops' ice cream shops . I've had some all over the country . From coast to coast. This place is AMAZING! I've been going for three days straight . The ice cream is creamy and not too sweet - just the right amount . I've tried different flavors and all of them have not let me down. The mantecato is a must ! My husband loved the key lime . The coconut joy is freaking awesome and the strawberry shake is so delicious ! This place is a must if your staying in marathon. This place was a cute little find. It's a nice bakery has a variety of cupcakes&cookies. I had the red velvet cupcake and a chocolate one. It was nice and cool inside, a nice place to take a break. Plenty of seating and also restrooms. They also sell ice cream I think they sell as much ice cream as they do pastries at the shop. But they also have a few gift items too. I ordered a small 6" custom cake for my parents wedding anniversary and they did a great job with the decoration and the cake was very moist and flavorful. A cozy little sweet shop. I tried their Key Lime Pie, their Rainbow Sherbet, and their Key Lime Cookie, all of which were good. As for whether it's the BEST key lime pie, I think that it depends on how you like your pie. Savannah's makes it fairly tangy, with only a bit of whipped cream for a topping. You might like it: you can almost feel the lime zest. I prefer my KL pie a bit cheese-cake-ey, but I still enjoyed this recipe. I gave this shop a fourth star for two reasons: 1) Their prices are good. 2) They responded well to my nut allergy. As you can imagine, asking a desert shop to check the ingredients in all of their items can be a bit of a hassle. The man behind the counter grumbled a bit when I asked him to check on the KL cookie (I don't blame him; I was holding up a line), but he did have a recipe book on hand. Another employee stopped him; she actually knew the ingredients off the top of her head! And even more impressive: they had a dedicated nut-free ice cream scoop. read more
