This little candy and frozen yogurt place is very charming. It reminds me of the candy shop in Salem OR, that I rode my bike to as a tween back in the 80s. This shop is filled with the current generation of candy lovers, seems to be lots of kids on bikes coming by from the neighborhood. Although they don't have a big selection, it always seems to have enough to get something I really like and enjoy. Plenty of parking, watch the hours since they aren't open late. read more

I finally managed to visit THE SWEET SHOP, and it is truly sweet. I thought it would be a good place for journaling, but actually it's a god buddy hangout spot, because... they have board games!!!! Highly recommend! Its a great peaceful place to get lunch or treat your kid to some candy. They have tons of different candy from all over the word and you can take a paper cup and fill it up with whatever candy you what and they pay later by how much it weighs. Nice place to get a snack especially with young kids. Our daughters loved the animal decorations outside and in the rest room. This used to be a small neighborhood grocery store. We were pleased to see it reopen in the same spot, awhile back, in the middle of residential area, tacked away and disguised amongst houses as another. I'm a bit conflicted about it now, because it was repurposed to sell all sorts of treats, sweets, coffees, yogurts, pastries, and such, and is frequented by kids after school darting there from all directions. I'd rather see kids snack on fruits and juices, and whole healthy products. Very cute, but small shop to check out for your sugar craving. There's only 1 wall of chocolates and gummies with limited selections, froyo and some cafe items. Place is too small to have their own parking lot since it's inside a neighborhood. Candy is $10/lb, a bit expensive, but it's really convenient for the people living nearby. Tucked away in Los Altos, just off trail much enjoyed for strolls & sunset, sits unique treasure. Rife with artisan chocolates, loose leaf tea, organic soup, bright colored sugar baubles in a myriad of forms and frozen yogurt on soft-serve, the place feels like an elfen cubbie or at least, a young child's daydream.. After lunch today i witnessed heart-warming scene-- two boys, probably 8, counting their pennies & dimes, scheming about what "delivery system" of sucrose to choose. This place is so cute and quaint, I'm glad we finally decided to check it out. Even though we live just a mile away, I never knew this place existed - it's tucked away right in the middle of a residential neighborhood, and it looks just like a house with a little patio and water fountain alongside it. But the best part of course, is what's on the INSIDE. Sweet, indeed! For our little valentine's celebration, our family devoured the pink-frosted big top cookies, chocolate-covered marshmallow pops, chocolate-chip cookies, and a decadent fudge cake, all washed down with milk and a lovely tea drink called "Bowlful of Soul." I loved this place x1000!! I knew about Sweet Shop when I was planning an outing the last time I was in the area, but ALL my shopping/errands were planned in South Bay area so I decided to visit Sweet Shop next time, which was today. haha I love Los Altos and the area reminds me of Van Ness Ave in Fresno. I have seen pictures of Sweet Shop both on Yelp and also through Google Maps so the place, you couldn't actually miss the place unless one wasn't paying attention or something. lol Just like others have stated, Sweet Shop is basically a Cottage that sits between the residential area and I enjoyed the setting. So green and so peaceful, which you can't really ask for anything else. I liked the decor, both inside and outside. There were both seating on the inside and outside, which I opted to go sit outside and eat. I helped my tot and I get some candy in the baggies, which both of ours combined was $9.50, I was thinking, it was going to cost more considering in the past, I bought just about the same amount and came out double to triple price elsewhere (different candy store in the Bay Area). Since I heard about Sweet Shop's bakery and how they make their goods there, I also got a Chocolate Crossiant and Ham/Cheese roll, which both were fresh and delicious. I shared my goods with my tot, which he loved a lot!! He enjoyed his chocolate milk while I had Fuji water bottle. This was our very first visit to the Sweet Shop and I must say, I will be back again for sure!! Lastly, the girls who worked up front, I must say were super friendly, very professional and you can tell they all enjoyed working there, which is very important and lots of smiles. I've been to other candy stores in the Bay Area, but gave me dirty looks/boredom/failing to explains things after asking a simple question or didn't look like they enjoyed their jobs, but it wasn't so at Sweet Shop so Thank You for the wonderful customer service with your first time customer. read more

If there's a "sweeter" spot in Los Altos, I sure don't know it. The Sweet Shop has fabulous candy, baked goods, coffee and more. It's a terrific place to meet a friend or two for a bit of nosh, way from the bustle (such as it is) of downtown Los Altos, as long as you miss the after school crowd. When you step into the Sweet Shop it's like stepping back in time. Nestled in a residential area of Los Altos, this adorable place reminds me of an old time soda shop with bright colored candy lining the walls and comfortable and inviting areas to sit and enjoy the yogurt, espresso, candy and even a lunch menu. They offer traditional, international and specialty pastries, candies and chocolates. Something for every age and taste. Cute 'lil business in a residential neighborhood; a gem of a find. Their old fashioned candy container shelving display inspired me to recreate this playful environment in our business office. They serve espresso made with high quality Verve coffee beans, a local vendor in Santa Cruz. There is a wide variety of sweets and I particularly like their caramel chocolate shortbread that comes 3 to a bag. Fun options for happiness gifts/presents for girlfriends. This place consistently puts smiles on the neighborhood kids. Their wi-fi is terrible though so I work using my hotspot. Their employee, Alan, is consistently nice and pleasant. read more

I love the Sweet shop. The cake pops are wonderful. They have POP ROCKS! It really brings you back to when you were a kid. The staff are super nice, and all proceeds go to schools! This is one of the most adorable and friendly little candy cafes that I've ever been to. There is such a large variety of conventional and exotic candies. So colorful. They draw pretty designs on their coffee when they serve it. Coffee is aromatic too. There's a quaint and cozy sitting area outside, to sip coffee and enjoy the gentle Los Altos sunshine. What a cute place! We had a nice morning just sitting outside near the fountain with our dog after a long walk. The red velvet frozen yogurt was great and they are not skimpy with serving size. I work within the school district and I think its great that all the proceeds go back in to the schools - where extra funds are much needed! I dont really have much of a sweet tooth, but I have had their pannis (the North Beach - AWESOME!) and I fell in love. Prices for the different menu items are reasonable and its my new spot to grab a quick bite. read more
