Great little spot in Flagstaff. We stumbled on this place and the service was incredibly friendly. Definitely what you would expect in a small town. My daughter got the ice cream and it was yummy. They also have a huge section of handmade fudge and other confectionary. It also has a large selection of very touristy trinkets and apparel. It took my kids a long time to pick what they wanted and we never felt rushed. Tried the mountain bark which looks very unappetizing. However it has an amazing combination of flavors that is fabulous. I never thought taupe colored food could be great but I was wrong. Every time we visit a candy store you expect a nostalgic atmosphere. This shop didn't dissapoint in that. We didn't buy any fudge or candy but gelato and root beer. Gelato was delicious. We ordered the flavor with the cream puffs mixed in. It was delicious and topped with a cream puff. They have a nice selection of sodas to choose from. If you have small children this is a nice stop. They don't have many seating areas so but there is seating outside every where. read more

I was walking in the area when I walked into this store. Oh boy was I glad I did, the store was so warm and welcoming and smelled so good. I got ice cream and the variety was amazing. I got a dairy free chocolate and it tasted so good. I also got a chocolate covered pretzel and that was so good too. My friend got fudge (homemade) and that was very good as well. Went it because the shop because it's adorable. Staff is great. I give it one star because they have a cooler filled with soda's some are more common and others are fun flavors you can't find in a regular grocery. They're 2.95 each so I bought two, I leave the store and get to my car and thankfully I know that with small shops like that you have to check the expiration date on EVERYTHING. I checked the expiration on the glass bottle coke I bought from there and it expired, OVER A MONTH AGO. I would've been more understanding if it were only expired by a few days but well over a month. Great candy, great chocolate, great caramel. Strongly recommend the dark chocolate sea salted caramel if you're into that sweet and salty combo. The only thing that docs a star is the lack of organization inside. COVID has everyone messed up but most stores have a clear indication of what to do as the customer. There needs to be a clear path indicating where people should be walking and where the line starts, because it was a bit hectic. We visited here as part of a scavenger hunt. I was very happy it was open, and the staff was very friendly. I also appreciated the variety of candy offerings, from every kind of caramel apple you could imagine, to Jelly Bellys, homemade fudge, and more. They have a cute patio set up going on right now for COVID. My only concern is that although one staff member was wearing gloves, the other was not. I understand that gloves don't protect against all germs, but I was very surprised to see the girl grabbing my fudge with her bare hands, especially considering the current situation with people being hyper-concerned about cleanliness. I wondered why she couldn't wear gloves or use tongs. Since my food was already paid for, I'm not sure if she would have accepted money with her bare hands, also. They have a great assortment of sweets here. I personally like the fudge and gelato. Seriously, they have a really wide assortment of fudge. I enjoyed the mocha and the white strawberry the best. Also of note, they have a variety of sodas such as bacon, and pb&j in stock in their fridge; and some quirky candies that you can't find anywhere else in Flagstaff to my knowledge. There is also an assortment of jelly belly containers where you can create your own mix. One drawback though, are the prices. The prices are a little bit higher in comparison to the sweet shop down the street in Heritage Square. However their chocolate more than makes up for it, because it tastes much better. I took a star off because of the service. One of the girls there was out from behind the counter talking to some people whom looked liked were her friends, and I overheard some stuff that seemed less than professional. I went in to get my girls a little sweet treat after dinner~ 2 got white chocolate covered marshmallows on a stick, rolled in Oreo w/a gummy written on top & the other got a graham cracker/chocolate covered marshmallow stick- for $1.50! Not only were they love them, they were just the right size and price! I didn't price the other chocolates, gelatos, or fudge. But my hubby bought me a caramel/peanut/dark chocolate covered apple for about $6 that was yummy! Heck yes! This is an amazing candy/gelato shop. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. There is always a wide selection of fudge, candy, and gelato flavors. If you're not sure what you want, ask for a taste. My favorite is the fudge - particularly the chocolate/coconut fudge. I've never had that combination before trying it here and I love it. My wife's favorite items in this store are the turtles. I had an opportunity to chat with the owner on my last visit. A charming woman who is clearly dedicated to her craft and satisfying her customers. My only complaint is that they don't have mail order. read more

The Sweet Shoppe & Nut House is a great little retro candy store in a restored storefront on Apsen Street. They have a nice selection of vintage candies by the bucket or bagful, delightful display cases brimming with candies, chocolates, candied apples, confections and homemade fudge. We hit this place right after a savory breakfast and I was in full-on chocolate craving mode. I was about to get a bucket of Goetze's Caramel Creams (I've always loved these and they're hard to find today - or I never think to look for them), when I happened upon the fudge counter. The young lady who worked here saw me eyeing up the fudge like a fat boy in a candy store (pun intended), and offered me a sample. That sealed the deal. A little over a pound of fudge and $16 later I was out the door with a precious assortment of peanut butter, chocolate and Reese's Pieces fudge in hand. Apparently this place is a new addition to the Flagstaff shopping mix, and I couldn't find a website for these guys, however the Chamber of Commerce lists them as new as of 2011. Neat old-style candy shop Wanted to grab some treats for our little girls while I was in Flagstaff for a meeting. Yelped for a candy store and found Sweet Shoppe, nearby. Walking in, you notice the old-style wood floors, big glass display cases, and the shelving lined with various candy. The candy crew were pleasant and quick to offer to help to customers. Prices were a bit high, but okay for a special occasion. Unfortunately, they did not have dry ice for the trip back to Phoenix, so I had to stick with fewer of their hand-made treats. This is a little hidden gem tucked away in Flagstaff producing quality and tasty popcorn and nuts. I got the 'movie theatre' popcorn which you'd think is loaded with butter but it's actually popped in coconut oil with salt. My bestie got the Chicago mix of caramel and cheddar popcorn. They have a spicy cheddar which has a nice kick and their special of the day was a green apple popcorn. It was bright green, crunchy, sweet and delightful. The owner was so incredibly nice! She explained the macaroons and the source she buys them from. She also explained how they make their toffee since they were in the process of creating a fresh batch. She let us sample the toffee and even see behind the counter to see how it comes together. Since we are traveling from out of state, she gave us great ideas of local attractions to checkout as well. The two younger people working were also extremely helpful and nice! Staff didn't help me right away. The fudge was ok in the middle. The sides were hard and some weren't labeled. The maple cream was hard and crystallized. The big disappointment was the expensive truffles. Tastes like they use chocolate liquor flavoring and fake coffee syrup. Hazelnut did not taste like hazelnut, coffee was barely noticeable at all, and the milk chocolate wasn't really rich chocolate. Instead of melt in your mouth chocolate, tastes like they use a lot of preservatives and syrups. Sadly I won't be back. read more

The caramel apples were fantastic, but the toffee was depressing. As soon as we bit into it, we got a burned taste in our mouths. After we continued eating it, we realized it was the toffee. We didn't see how much it cost, but would say, it's not worth the money. If you want to spend money, buy their caramel apples! read more
