I have visited Davie Village Bakery several times and always enjoy their variety of menu items, such as croissants and cakes. I visited this bakery for a special limited-edition item featured in the Vancouver Croissant Crawl. Crème Brûlée Cube Croissant Vanilla custard filling with a crunchy, burnt sugar top. 2024 Design Your Dream Croissant Winner. The croissant cube's dough was very crunchy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The vanilla custard filling was delightful, and the burnt sugar topping, reminiscent of crème brûlée, was a standout feature. It was an incredibly delicious croissant--no wonder this item is the dream croissant winner!

The XXL croissant is super worth and I highly reccomend it!!! I thought it'd be a gimmick but I was proven so wrong!!! The pistachio XXL croissant was flakey, and they filled it with a delicious pistachio filling which paired so well with the croissant!! Also tried the almond croissant and spinach feta croissant and they were also rly rly good! I would definitely be back to get one to share with friends again!!

GIANT VIRAL CROISSANTS in Vancouver. The next big croissant trend has arrived. This bakery offers giant croissants for pre-order for only $15. You can choose from Nutella, pistachio, vanilla, raspberry and mango flavours. We tried the mango croissant & some other desserts the bakery offers. Is it worth the hype? YES. I was pleasantly surprised because I didn't expect it to be so good! Croissant was flaky and soft. The mango cream wasn't overly sweet or artificial. It's definitely an item to be shared among friends. The other desserts were pretty good and not too sweet! They come frozen though so give them some time to thaw before eating. The bakery also offers other unique croissants like the cube and supreme croissants. Price: $15 for giant croissant. Call to pre-order 24 hours in advance. Parking: Street parking

Located in the heart of Davie Village, this place has the best workers and delicious baked goods. This place was introduced to us as a "eastern European bakery". We got a box of goodies, including sweet danishes, and filled donuts; also got a piece of cream cake for dessert. When they heard we are visiting from Seattle, the people who work here insisted on gifting us some savory pies to try. I loved the meat and the spanich ones, they were perfect for a simple and substantial breakfast the next morning.

I heard really good things about Davie Village Bakery and decided to check them out. A bright and clean bakery right in the heart of Davie St The Danish pastries were generous with fresh fruit The cake donuts were my favorite. So soft and melt is my mouth. If you are a fan of donuts and especially cake donuts then donut wait, check out their donuts!! I would go back and try their fruit tarts and croissants when I go earlier in the day

Davie Village Bakery is an awesome friendly local bakery and really fits the charm of Davie Street. Their great team are super courteous and we felt we are part of a big family. They have plenty of European style pastries to choose from, such as breads, galettes and fruit birdnests, strudels, savoury pita with plenty of fillings; and not to outdone, some great looking donuts and gelatos. Be sure to check them out!

Delicious gelato flavours. Amazing pastries and baked goods! Friendly, helpful staff. Sometimes just like to let them pick a few items. Always a nice way to try new things. Clean, bright atmosphere. Right by Jim Deva Plaza

A minimal European bakery in the heart of Davie Village with a huge assortment of pastries and gelato! Davie Village Bakery is one of the best in the area if you're wanting something sweet, savory, filling or dessert! They truly have something for everyone! All their pastries are soft, fluffy and just the perfect balance of sweetness! They're also very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I love how they offer gelato too if you're feeling a cold and refreshing treat while walking downtown ! I personally loved their fruit tart and Ukranian chocolate bread ! Definitely would go back to try their infamous donuts!

Terrible. Fake whipped cream and over-cooked pastry. Not just bad. This is really horrible.

The service was quick and prompt, too! Although we didn't find a place to sit, given how much people love this place, we happily enjoyed our food in the seating area overlooking the Canada place, few others joined us there too! It was our cute lil party!

I was meeting a friend here yesterday who's visiting from California, and when deciding on a meeting place, we realized a bunch of the Gastown coffee roaster places were closed on Sunday, so I mentioned Breka , knowing it was opened 24/7. (LOVE this!). Plus, this site is close to Waterfront Station, and my friend had a busy day planned, taking the Seabus to N.Van and doing a lot of sightseeing. So this Breka was perfect. I was there early at 10 am-ish, and from the outset, I was impressed: exposed brick wall, long counter and display case, fully stocked with the most beautiful pastries and tarts and cakes, and lovely looking sandwiches, too....Just lovely. I ordered a tea from the guy taking the orders. At the check-out, the woman working the cashier was the most unfriendly, aloof person I have ever encountered at a Breka. She was downright dour. Never looked up, never smiled, said I owed X for the tea I ordered, gave me a receipt and said I was "number 3", no "thank you" (despite my saying thanks!), nothing. She looked really unhappy and bothered to be there. (I sat at a nearby table, waiting for my number to be called. I saw her interactions with all the people behind me - and there were quite a few, as it got suddenly busy in the cafe. She was cold and unfriendly to everyone in line as she rang them all up. These are mostly tourists! Why have a dour, borderline-hostile woman at the check-out counter of a busy cafe in a touristy part of our city? I just don't get it). Anyhow, I waited 10 minutes to hear my number called, but I never heard it. I walked up to the take-out area and there was my tea, on a receipt that said "number 3". Did they call out my number? I honestly don't know. I was seated at a table a few feet from the area and listening for my number and I didn't hear it called. I was not impressed with this set-up. Not at all. My friend arrived and got a chocolate concoction which looked amazing, and he loved it, so there's that. I still love Brekas but I probably won't return to this site. Between the cold experience at the cash and the prolonged waiting for my order (a cup of tea!), and not being sure if my order number was ever called, it just all left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

It was a huge hit with everyone! The 6 inch cake was $69 and I added a customized birthday message on chocolate for an extra $3 which was a nice personal touch. They also offer a gluten free option for an additional $10 which is great for accommodating different dietary needs. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll want to order online well in advance because their cakes sell out quickly. I can definitely see why. They're fantastic! I'll be ordering from Gary's Patisserie again for future celebrations.

Gary's only allows to order the fresh mango cakes up to one week ahead to ensure they have enough ripe mangos, which I admire their dedication. We ordered the 6 inch cake for 9 people (7 adults and 2 kids) and everyone got a thin to average slice. The cake is definitely prettier than the other fresh mango cakes on the market, has a lot more mangos that are perfectly ripe and sweet, there is less wipped cream, and the sponge cake is softer. The family agreed that Gary's has the best fresh mango cake but at $69 for a 6 inch cake, versus $43 for a 6 inch mango cake from Saint Germaine, a cake from Gary's is definitely a treat and for special occasions. Is Gary's worth the premium price? I think so but not everyone in my family agreed. One thing to note: Gary's do offer cake in a jar that's $8.50 each. When we went, they had a BOGO deal with the mango cake jars. My nephew asked my sister to buy the BOGO deal knowing that the 6 inch cake was not going to be enough, as the kids like having a second slice of cake.

Well it seems ownership has changed and the new owner doesn't give two craps about prior customers, honoring discounts, replying back timely or being more friendly? I even replied back and nothing. We own and run several business in lower mainland and in United States and this customer service from Unni Pastries is trash. At least you can do is reply back and apologize? For wasting time when I specifically told you it's for family and friends flying into town for a funeral burial. Will never use their business again. I highly suggest Mello. They replied and helped me out last minute. Shame on you! Learn how to run a business and treat customers esp previous customers who were supporting the business and fellow Krn but it's clear the new owner doesn't care about the customer or quality it's all about quantity. Maybe my 39 donuts which I offered to pay extra for time and packaging wasn't large enough but money is money. Especially during this time and economy. You should've at least replied back and even tried asking us to do pickup as the restaurant is down the road. Do better!
