My experience has been great. Staff is friendly and Dr. Patel clearly knows his stuff. Highly recommended!

Ask the Community - Sweet Tooth Dental

I noticed that Dr. Patel did some work on the Texas-Mexico border. Could you tell me if he speaks any Spanish? Even a little bit would help my spouse, who is from Southern Mexico.

Yes, I believe he can speak a little Spanish. He is originally from Laredo.

The dentist was great and quickly added to the conversation, letting me know what he saw in my X-rays. If we're being real...nobody likes going to the dentist. But ATX Family Dental completely changed…read morethe experience for me. First off, the space is chic, modern, and actually feels intentional. Not sterile and cold , but stylish and welcoming. The waiting room is super cute and thoughtfully designed, which already makes you feel more relaxed walking in. Every treatment room has a TV on the ceiling (because seriously... why do dentists put them on the wall where you can't even see them while laying back?). And yes, they give you the remote. Full control. As they should. They also give you these cool heart-eye sunglasses while they work on you, which is such a small but fun touch that makes everything feel less clinical and more comfortable. Beyond the aesthetics though, the environment felt inclusive and diverse. I felt safe in more ways than one, and that matters. A lot. ‍ If you're in Austin and have been putting off a dentist visit, this might be the place that changes your mind.

One of my biggest regrets is choosing to go to swish dental to get my Invisalign. I had an awful…read moreexperience at a place that I thought was a well oiled machine for Invisalign My final appointment was horrifically painful AND started 50 mins late and I had to stay an extra hour. Yes, my appointment was from 10-11, but it got started at 10:50 The teeth whitening was one of the most excruciating pain I've ever felt. I was actually wondering if it was suppose to feel like torture. Apparently, my mouth guard wasn't in place and while I was left to my own device, I was also suffering away as my gums burned and burned. I wish someone, anyone had just preface - that BURNING is not normal. I was almost in tears by the time I jump out of my seat and nearly ripped off the mouth guard, and whimpering before the tech came to check on me. My bottom gums were all either bleached white or burned. Invisalign is a huge investment - my invoice 7k or over from Swish and I really think that your local dentist could do it for cheaper (the discounts/deal isn't great bc they have such a high mark up), and you probably won't be tortured and left with WHITE GUMS after a simple whitening.

Why don't they respect our time?…read more Often have to wait to be seen by the care provider even with an appointment, and we get charged if we miss it but there is no repercussion if they make you wait. We don't have endless time to sit around. Came in for a crown replacement and literally sat in the dentist chair for 30 minutes waiting for numbing to take effect. They said dentist got caught up doing something else (which I thought meant like 5 minutes) and didn't show up for another 25 minutes! Before proceeding with the operation Service really needs to improve. People have lives and can't just sit around waiting all day.

An amazing experience here as a new patient, the location is very clean, they were so accommodating…read morefor timings and the friendliest dentistry staff I have ever experienced. I met almost everyone and regardless of where you are in your dental health journey they were very non-judgmental and professional. Gave me advice and never made me feel bad about being behind in oral care. My deep cleaning has been phenomenal so far and pricing with insurance was always fair, haven't encountered any hidden fees or upselling yet. Would highly recommend if you are nervous about dentists, haven't been to a cleaning in awhile or need special attention for your teeth in a judgment free environment.

My first visit to Walton dentistry was fantastic. The hygienist was super nice. I have mild sleep apnea and grind my teeth at night so I was interested in a mouth guard. Instead of just going with it, she explained that it was not covered by my insurance and talked to me about several alternatives. When Dr. Walton came in, he also talked to me about options and things I could try to help with my grinding and sleep issues. They were so caring. Unfortunately, I had a cavity so I had to visit again. Once again, they made sure I was as comfortable as possible. I even got to watch Netflix with headphones. I am so happy to have found them.
