Complete & total waste to go to this office. Neil Patel himself is a selfish & greedy person. He had no sympathy for me when I was 5 months pregnant and in pain due to the temporary bridge he inserted into my mouth & it's now been over 2 years and he doesn't care that one of his patients still has a "temporary bridge" in their mouth. Please refer to the photos. I set up a payment plan and made a payment with collections like he asked in order for me to get the permanent bridge inserted & he came back with sorry but it's been over 2 years & we cannot schedule you until your account is paid in full. Definitely do not get Invisalign here. This completely disorganized office is clearly either incompetent or just doesn't care. After charging me up front for the treatment and promising they would refund after insurance I found out that they filed for it incorrectly and not using my orthodontic allowance. After eight months of being polite but knowing something was wrong I went to another dentist and everything was confirmed. Not only did my "bad insurance" completely cover Invisalign and I shouldn't have paid out of pocket, what they had done to date had to be completely redone my a dentist who knew what they were doing. I should've trusted all the one star reviews. Save your time and money and go literally anywhere else. This was easily the worst dental experience of my life. read more

Not sure what he happened to Dr. Patel. I was given a weird story that he just decided to retire and move to Chicago but these reviews make me suspicious. I'm Very confused and seeking another opinion now. In 2023 I visited sweet tooth (before it was highpoint) and it had been 10 years since I had been seen by a dentist. I was told I had a few cavities and teeth grinding. No biggie they gave me fillings and I passed on the mouth guard because I found some cheaper quality ones on Amazon which have been working. After my teeth were filled I asked, immediately after, about all of the jagged edges and my teeth weren't flush. He kinda for a second looked and half ass smoothed some but still had piece's stabbing me. after he left I believe, not sure 100% cuz I'm not a dentist, had a filling come out and could feel the hole under neath where after they filled it was covered. I told the dental assistant and she went to get the doctor. She came back and said it was fine that i would even up the filling by chewing and peices would make their way out of my mouth (????). I felt weird but thought that he was the expert and I haven't been in like 10 years so idk. A year or so later I come in for a check up was told my grinding was still not the best but my teeth looked great. 6 months later, high point took over. I went for a cleaning and they didn't take x rays but they did take photos. I was told that appointment that again my grinding wasn't good and at the base of my teeth they could see the pressure affecting my teeth. They said no cavities tho. 6 months after that. I have 5 or 6 cavities under my fillings, I'm told the fillings are leaking or moving or something. I'm told they look like some fell out and had jagged edges all overr them. Now I have to have 2-4 crowns put in and alot of work done. 2k plus got it!!! I came in to prevent this and now I feel like I should have just never gone to the dentist. Like I had no cavities and pretty good teeth. X-rays look good and now after being seen regularly I have major issues??? I makes no sense. Figuring out next steps but I would avoid this place especially if you haven't been in a while all because they will take advantage of it. read more

I got a filling done at Sweet Tooth Dental in October of 2015. I've finally decided to write this review because, after 6 years, the tooth that was filled still has constant pressure sensitivity to the point where I only chew hard foods on the opposite side. At the time, I was referred to an endodontist who did an evaluation and assured me the new filling was sound and that nothing was wrong with the tooth. On X-ray, the tooth looks fine. . . But I have to say, this pain is absolutely related to the filling, and it's not normal. I silently curse the doctor at this dental practice on a daily basis. (Also, while I'm sure the practice has evolved in the last 6 years, looking back it was just a weird experience. They weighed me on a scale as part of my initial evaluation, and the dental assistant was completely brand new and untrained--the doctor kept having to explain to her what she should be doing while I was receiving treatment, and she kept stabbing me in the back of the throat with the high-speed suction.) read more

I just saw the dentists response and this is what truly happened. Instead of them calling me and saying "Hey we tried to run your card & something went wrong can we get your updated info so we can input it in your file? Ect." SOMETHING formal, because unfortunately the card they had on file my bank cancelled due to a fraudulent transaction that had posted. They could have called me to clarify this, but no they sure were quick to report this to collections. read more

I was completely ripped of by Sweet Tooth Dental in Austin Texas. I was visiting for a wedding and I was charged over $800 for a temporary front tooth. A piece of plastic to tide me over until I got home. A couple of hundred I could understand but $800 for a tempory piece of plastic? This has to be the worst experience I have ever had with a dentist - to keep it short: 1. Everyone in the office is constantly training. At first it didn't bother me, but it really extends your stay longer than needed. 2. Bad crown work - still in pain and seeking treatment for crowns done over 3 months ago. 3. Admin team does not return calls or emails. Doesn't keep track of appointments. I showed up to a scheduled appointment and they didn't have me in their book. They haven't properly tracked the payments I've made so lots of back and forth to even get billing right. Normal customer service and professionalism seriously lacking. No thanks! read more

The staff at Sweet Tooth is wonderful and very friendly. I love Robin the office manger. Dr. Patel must have been having a bad day. He was short and dismissive of my tooth pain by saying it was my sinuses. I have had sinus infections before and it didn't hurt when I bent over. Only one tooth hurt. I was looking for clarification and he made me feel like a hypochondriac. I was so angry and let it go until he made me bite on a bite stick and I almost came out of the chair. He left the room and his staff told me I was being referred to an endodontist. I can't be seen until tomorrow. I spent a good 20 minutes with his office manager who was caring and supportive and I got all of my records and left. I will NEVER go back. This was as traumatic a visit as the one in high school where the dentist snipped my lip as he was finishing up my stitches from wisdom tooth removal. read more

Do not go here for Invisalign treatment. My final results included a gap between my front teeth, so I had to come in to get an impression for more trays. Long story short, after that appointment I spent 5 weeks waiting to receive those additional trays and during that time I did not receive a single proactive communication from the office. Instead, I had to call in several times each week to figure out what was going on and what was causing the delays. The office's hours are limited so it's difficult to get ahold of the one person that manages the Invisalign treatment. When you do make contact, it takes multiple more phone calls to resolve the issue. I even spoke directly to Dr. Patel about my concerns and he was not helpful. When my additional trays finally arrived, their system messed up my appointment time and they did not notify me until the day-of... which prolonged my waiting time even more. Oh, and they only ordered trays for my top teeth. When I asked how that happened, it was clear that Dr. Patel hadn't even looked at my teeth or scans and made me feel like it was my fault for not telling him they were still misaligned! Not sure why I paid a dentist so I could tell him that my teeth weren't straight... The issues and poor communication continued until my very last visit. Even after finally completing treatment, the retainers that their office provided cracked after just 6 months! This place is a mess. Would give 0 Stars if I could. read more

Having been to various dental clinics in the past, I know the good, bad and the ugly (yes, they do exist!!!) I have to be very honest in that I have never been to a clinic more professional, polite and state of the art. First of all, you walk in and you get to pick out what records you want to listen to. HOW COOL IS THAT? Then, you get to pick a Pandora station you want to listen to while you are there-that suddenly makes the minutes in the chair go by MUCH, MUCH faster. I have to admit that I am baby when it comes to the dentist, but Sweet Tooth is one of the few that I leave with a smile on my face. Add to the fact they give you a little good bag of toothpaste, toothbrush and lip balm (honestly, the lip balm is the best) and I never forget to reschedule a follow-up. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I'll make it quick. I tried this location because a coworker suggested it. I did not like my experience here because it was some what lackadaisical. The people are nice but some service aspects could be enhanced. Like, I had to ask for the tub to drain my own sylva, and ended up holding it myself because the assistant would not. Lastly, after multiple attempts to pick up my mouth guard, (they would leave early even if they said they do not close until 5pm; I called and said I was on the way, arrived at 4pm and the office was closed for the day) the office manager pulled it out of a bag and hands it to me with her bare hands and says, "try it on." I was appalled. I'm thinking, "could you at least sanitizer your hands before you touch my mouth guard?" The office is neat though, and they have pandora. read more

After being a patient of Dr. Patel for well over 2 years, it's time for me to write a review. What can I say? Dr. Patel is wonderful! I really appreciate how "hi-tech" his equipment is --- which I believe is critical when going to the dentist and keeping up in our tech savvy city. You even get to pick your own Pandora station during your checkup! Appointments start are on time and you're never left waiting for another patient to finish up. Also, I've never felt that Dr. Patel has ever tried to upsell me, which unfortunately has happened one too many times in the past with other dentists. He lets you know what work (if anything outside of a cleaning) is needed and has a gentle hand to complete the work. I would highly recommend this office! Added bonus, they have a convenient S. In all honesty, I've always felt uncomfortable with this dentist. The last straw, for me, was when he sent a message to his entire patient email list letting everyone know about the office closure due to COVID-19. The email rubbed me the wrong way because in it, he wrote--and I quote--"Insurance companies will also be withholding any payment for services rendered from March 22 to April 20, 2020. This is important to know because it limits all access to care even if some rogue doctor is somehow claiming that they are able to see patients." To inform your patients about a related closure to your own office makes total sense, and I am all for office closures to help ensure hospital staff and patients have the necessary PPE. However, to go on and on about how ALL doctor's offices will not see patients (when you're a DENTIST) is unnecessary and unhelpful. I was so taken aback that I decided to politely let Dr. Patel know I thought he crossed a line. I told him through email that I myself am a patient who sees doctors regularly, and his notice was alarming. The literal email response I got was: "The information I am providing will soon come out in the coming days. I am privy to a lot of information before it hits the public sphere. Take care." Dr. Patel, sadly, is very friendly on the surface, but at best derogatory, arrogant, and unable to empathize with his patients. I have read other low ratings from other customers and empathize wholeheartedly with them. Have a read and be sure to take in Dr. Patel's responses to the low ratings. He seems unable to apologize. Instead, you'll notice a lot of finger-pointing and blaming: "why are you just now leaving a review?" "we don't have record of you as a patient," etc, etc. When I was so turned off by his response to me, I decided to leave and find a new dentist. I had to contact his office multiple times to retrieve my records. I emailed 8 (Eight!) times, with only ONE response, and called at least 4 times for my records and X-rays. They were very unwilling to give them up, even as I told them it was against the law for them to hold onto my information. Tracy (the reason for the second star) was the ONLY helpful person I spoke to and finally got me my records (although, I asked for ALL my X-Rays and they only provided me with the most recent ones). For her, I am forever grateful--thank you, Tracy. As a last note, Dr. Patel and his staff DO try to take your X-rays every 6 months, which is a bit much and unnecessary. It saddens me to write a review like this, but I think it's important to warn others about this dentist's derogatory behavior toward his patients. read more

All the girls up front and dental assistants are super attentive and friendly. They are quick to respond to email too which is convenient. The dental equipment they use is up to date..I've been to offices where they are very behind the times. Dr Patel is good at what he does, quick and to the point which is what I like. I knew this place was a keeper when the front desk receptionist helped me get to to my car in a torrential downpour. A storm came in while I was getting my cleaning and I didn't have an umbrella...no bueno. Lucky for me, the office was equipped with extras and Diane offered to meet me out front to return it once I got into my car. Talk about going the extra mile! I went to Sweet Tooth with Dr. Patel for a cleaning after moving from Denver. Over the past 6 years I have had one cavity, and seen a dentist regularly. The cleaning itself was painful. Then in giving me a plan, he told me about one tooth I knew had a cavity I hadn't filled yet and also said I had "a few really tiny, small cavities to fill and not to sweat it." When I checked out on the treatment plan it was only $150, so I made the next appointment thinking it was a small amount of dental work (this is on me for not asking more questions, but I still think he was deceitful). He ended up drilling 12 teeth and I had an awful experience with the amount of anesthetic used. I brought the xrays taken at the cleaning to another dentist, and they confirmed the same thing from my dentist in Denver - the xrays only showed 1 confirmed cavity and everything else he drilled was "so small" it couldn't be confirmed on the xrays alone. Had he told me "there's 11 cavities not shown clearly on xrays but I sense decay and I'll be numbing your whole face" I obviously would've gotten a second opinion given my nearly perfect dental history before this. So while I can't say he drilled for no reason (once it's drilled you can't verify that), I can say I saw a dentist less than year ago and had one cavity and a second dentist also confirmed they saw only 1 cavity on my xrays. I had to go to a different dentist to have several of the cavities shaved down properly so they were flushed to the gum, and one filling was too large causing sensitivity to the point I couldn't chew on that side of my mouth for weeks. He was also the only dentist out of these two others that recommended me for an express invisalign case; both other dentists saw me as a comprehensive case. I'm guessing he would have gotten me 70% of the way with an express case, and then billed me a lot more to finish. I plan on asking this dentist to reimburse me for all expenses, and will update my review with the response. read more

This office fees are way out of line. I had a crown done and it came off within 11 months. The work was done poorly. I have now had 4 other dentists look at my x-rays and the current status of my tooth and they have all agreed that in the shape of what remains of the tooth, Dr. Patel did not a very poor job. What is left of my tooth and how he created my crown are all very poor. I paid $1500 for a crown that lasted 11 months and now have to pay for a whole new one because my insurance won't cover a replacement this soon since it has been less than a year. Crowns are suppose to last on average 10 years. Dr. Patel's office will not offer any compensation for the work I know need to get done since I have moved to Chicago. Hard to believe honest fees that they charge their patients in a Austin, Texas dental office are higher than downtown Chicago. read more

After a traumatic experience at a previous dentist (breaking instruments off in my root), I had unfinished work that I was paralyzed to move forward. Dr Patel is completely incompetent. I was having pain in my tooth and jaw and didn't have a regular dentist. He was able to see me the same day so I made an appointment. He did an exam and took an x ray. He said that I had a bad infection in the tooth and he referred me to an endodontist for a root canal even though he said the infection was so bad that the tooth would probably have to be extracted. Long story short, the endodontist took another x ray and did an exam. There was nothing wrong with the tooth, it was just sore because I clench my teeth at night. I wasted three hundred dollars at the endodontist. Dr Patel can't even read an x ray. He sees a normal healthy tooth and thinks it's a bad infection. Don't waste your time with this guy, he doesn't know what he is doing. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for some time. Sweet Tooth takes the award for the worst dental experience of my life. This guy drilled two cavities - HE WENT SO DEEP ON THE SECOND ONE THAT I HAD TO GET A ROOT CANAL. A couple things to mention: - He didn't give me enough novocaine for the procedure, I was squirming and sweating in the seat. If you want to find out what your parents are talking about when they tell stories about dental procedures from their childhood (painful and no local anesthesia) give this guy a try. - The Dental Assistant had no idea what she was doing. I think she jammed the suction tube into my gums at least 12 times. - Between this experience and getting the root canal - I had to take ibuprofen every day, every 4 hours or I would be in such excruciating pain that I was literally immobile. Proceed with caution - or just go to Dr. Snow. read more

Dr. Patel saw me on a weekend night with no notice due to a minor mouth emergency. His care, bedside manner, and dental procedures were second to none. I have had mouth problems my whole life: infections, root canals, oral surgery, countless crowns, cavities, gingivectomies so I am no stranger to dental work as one Dentist used to joke to me. Also, my significant other is a surgeon so I feel I have a heightened awareness to medical practitioners. Dr. Neil Patel is first class all the way. For my first appointment, I came in for a regular cleaning. He recommended I get two fillings. Putting my trust in him, I came in a week later for the the work. The filling appointment was extremely short and he seemed rushed. My back molar previously had a filling, and Patel said he needed to replace it. After drilling and filling the tooth, I told him it still felt strange. He "attempted" to fix it a couple times. I said it felt a little bit better. He immediately dismissed me and told me to come back for another appointment if it was still bothering me. Three days after my appointment, half of my tooth broke off. I have no confidence in this dentist. I will be finding a new dentist to repair the damage that Neil Patel caused to my teeth. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. read more
