Either Uber Eats or Doordash was running a deal for Teapulse's K-Town location, so we decided to order boba for delivery even though the cafe was at most a 15-minute walk away. I've never heard of Teapulse before, but my friend said it's one of the Chinese chains that rapidly expanded across NYC over the past couple years. MANGO DEW SMOOTHIE + 30% sugar We all ordered the mango dew smoothie, one of their signature drinks. It was ice-cold and refreshing! The 30% sugar was actually too sweet for me, especially with the already-sweet chunks of mango and puree, so 0% sugar will be perfect for next time. The pomelo added a pleasant and slight bitterness that helped with the sweetness. I loved my drink, and I wouldn't be surprised if Teapulse made its way to where I live within the next year or two. If it's following the same trajectory as other Chinese chains that have been rapidly expanding across metropolitan areas, it's only a matter of time. read more

While waiting in line down a couple of blocks for our ramen place, I wanted to get boba! We kept seeing Teapulse around so decided to try it out. I got the Mango drink and it reminds me of Mango Boom Boom(?) from HeyTea. Refreshing, fresh, and natural tasting! I loved how it didn't taste flavored, but had the natural fruit in there. This is one of my favorite Teapulse locations in NYC, beside the one in Chinatown! This place is very clean and the service is great. They sell Macau-style Portuguese egg tarts and recently, donuts which are both very delicious. They frequently have deals and promotions. Recently, I saw they posted up a sign offering FIT students a10% off student discount which is great for students who goes to school nearby. Overall, I really love this place. On a hot day in NYC it's time for an iced brown sugar milk tea with boba. The tea in my drink must have been super hot. It melted all the ice, & it melted the bottom of my cup. The cup could not even stand flat on the table since the plastic melted, lol. So I really wanted a chill drink, but this one was still warm. Nonetheless it still tasted pretty good. I ordered the strawberry lemon fruit tea blast and it was so perfect and refreshing for a sunny summer day. Highly recommend and if you don't like overly sweet drinks, I got 30% sugar and I could really taste the tea and the natural fruity taste from the fruit chunks in the drink. A box of'em is always a hit at parties. As you might've guessed, their other specialty is tea, and you bet they use a real tea base for their creative tea drinks and bobas: jasmine, Ceylon, etc. (Can we all agree that powdered boba "teas" are an anathema?) I've only tried a couple - a snow top amber Ceylon milk tea, and the cheese Thai boba milk tea - and they were both refreshing and delicious. It's located close to Herald Square but also far enough that it's not too crowded with the usual crowds around Macy's/H&M/K-Town. There was some seating - maybe good for about 10-15 - definitely a bit tighter now in the winter with all the coats and gear. There were a couple of kiosks to order from once you entered, and I think you can order from the cashier directly too. My friend and I went twice because we wanted to try the different drinks. We got the mango dew smoothie, strawberry cheese cloud smoothie, amber ceylon milk tea, and orchic blanc milk tea. The mango dew was basically a mango sago type drink. The amber ceylon was very good. I then tried the orchic blanc right after and it was very light in flavor that I felt like I wasn't tasting much since my palette was overpowered by the ceylon prior. But once I waited a bit, i enjoyed the light floral taste. They also had a little giveaway in the corner that weekend. With every receipt, you could reach into a box to pick a ticket, which corresponded to a prize. We both won a jasmine stone, something you hang up that emits a slight fragrance, I guess. Overall, a great experience. So many boba options now beyond the usual Vivi/Coco/Gongcha/Kungfu. Prices are pretty competitive with the other newer chains that have been opening up. read more

I was in the area looking for a dessert/drink after dinner and stumbled upon Tea Pulse. It gives me Molly Tea x Hey Tea vibes with maybe more conventional boba options. They have your coffee lattes, matcha, Chinese tea, fruit drinks, and brown sugar boba options. I got to try their Orchid Blanc which had a nice blend of the aromatic tea and smooth milk. Teapulse! ie., closest I can get to Molly Tea in midtown. So happy they opened a location here since I love the Flushing one for their egg tarts (pastel de nata) and jasmine milk tea. Shop is a little tucked away from the main ktown street and seems to be targeting folks that genuinely want good boba rather than folks stumbling across it (like 50lan which is also nearby). Their milk teas are still my favorite but they also have fruit teas which you can even purchase in their "jumbo" size which is comically large but really hits the spot if you're craving a ton of boba or want to share.
