But I'm happy to see locations popping up all around. Sweetgreen offers a ton of pre-designed salads, but I like to build my own. The people working at the counter and throw together a great entree salad as I order it. It's fast & easy. The place always looks clean and organized. It's spacious with a ton of natural light.There's a specific pick up area for to-go and delivery orders. It's all very super organized. I think the salad spot restaurant is a great idea and I find myself stopping in on a whim often. The quality and value are on point. read more

I had a decent experience at this Sweetgreen location this past Sunday evening. I'm sure this location is super popular since it's in River North so it's definitely not the cleanest. They also have interesting seating here (similar to gym benches from grade school, lol, but more modern). The employee who made my Kale Salad was really nice. I didn't want any parmesan cheese or bread with my salad, so she gave me more chicken, which was perfect. I'm glad to have gotten more chicken instead of paying a ridiculous +3.00 this time. Are you comfortable paying $15-20 for a salad? I'm not. But hey kudos to you if you are. Normally the price would put me off my appetite for a place like this. But luckily I got to try it on someone else's dime and...dayum. I didn't think I could be this stoked for a salad! Mine was on the pricey side because I went for a lot of the premium items. I created my own bowl with spring mix, wild rice, roasted sweet potato, portabella mix, curry cauliflower, spicy broccoli and blackened chicken. That's my last straw tonight. I was literally screaming what I wanted over the music and she could not hear me through our masks and the plexiglass. I tried. I could not hear her either. It was ridiculous. I walked out. I've tried ordering on their website with zero luck. I'm done. My wife and I both tried their site. I've managed 2 orders there. I've been coming to this location for a while now and I've never experienced this before. The lady that made my salad gave me extremely small sizes of every single ingredient of the menu. She gave me the last of the sweet potatoes of the line and wasn't enough and she didn't even bother to ask me if I would like something else instead. They gave me the smallest portion of chicken that I've ever had in this restaurant. I absolutely love Sweetgreen....I'm lucky to have one close enough to where I live that I can walk there. Their offerings are nothing short of completely delicious. My faves are the Hummus Crunch Salad and Miso Salmon Bowl (might have those names wrong but close enough!) My problem is I love these so much I haven't branched out but I will soon! I've seen others complain about the price - I think it's quite reasonable considering how healthy and fresh everything is. I love using the app and my order is always ready on time. If I could eat here everyday I would. The service is super fast and efficient. I always order ahead from the app and my food is always ready before the estimated time they provide. My review is more like 3.5 stars. The interior is bright and modern. You see a lot of people come here after their workout for this location in the evening because it seemed like 70% of the customers were in workout clothes. You have multiple options for sitting: regular tables, slim bar without chairs by the window, or giant steps where you can sit. The Shroomami bowl consists of organic wild rice, shredded kale, raw beets, cucumbers, basil, spicy sunflower seeds, warm portobello mix, roasted sesame tofu, and miso sesame ginger dressing. The ingredients go well together, and it's flavorful. The Fish Taco bowl consists of roasted steelhead, shredded cabbage, cilantro, tortilla chips, warm quinoa, organic arugula, sweetgreen hot sauce, and lime cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette. The roasted steelhead is small and has a similar taste to salmon. With each bowl, you get the option to include a slice of bread. We wanted something healthy and filling before the Taylor Swift concert. I found this place via Door Dash and thought it looked good. We walked from our hotel and entered a very clean space. We had to wait in line, but it didn't take too long until we were helped. I got the Kale Caesar salad and my sister got the Harvest Bowl. We both really enjoyed our food and felt full afterwards. A quick dinner after driving into the city from Wisconsin. We were in the mood for something nearby with a healthy twist as we hadn't been eating the healthiest the last few days. Sweetgreen was located a couple blocks near us so it was a quick walk over. A few things: 1. Imagine Chipotle but the salad edition. You can make your own or you can order from the set menu. Don't forget to check our their specials of the season. I ended up getting the chicken pesto parm. It is one of the warm salads on the menu and it hummus with roasted chicken, crispy broccoli, tomatoes, breadcrumbs,quinoa, spinach, parmesan, and a nice splash of hot sauce and pesto vinaigrette. This location has limited seating - very much so a "take to go" kind of place. They even have a whole section dedicated to pick up orders, so you can order ahead and skip the line. Luckily, I didn't have to wait long for my order since I visited during non-peak hours. I tried the apple pear cheddar salad, which is part of their seasonal fall menu. It came to about $11 with tax. Though it was a great portion, and tasty, I don't think I'll ever get over how pricey their salads are. But I do appreciate their approach to fresh and healthy ingredients sourced from regional partners, in addition to the environmentally friendly napkins, cups, etc. So it makes spending the extra money a little less painful, though still bougie af. read more

Another bad experience at Sweet Greens...The 2 stars is for the simple fact its nice to have a place to get a salad in Chicago...lol The problem with Sweet Greens is that all the signature pre-made bowl options are pretty badly thought out with some ingredients guaranteed you wont like so its really all about choosing your own bowl...Unfortunately the staff is practically incapable of doing this right and now add in these cumbersome face masks we all now have to wear which hinders the communication process even more...And in the end you end up with salads you dont want and costing 40 bucks for 2 salads...So why bother...Did I mention all the salad dressings suck...So Just go to Whole Foods and make a salad at the salad bar and pay half the price and have better choices. Having owned a restaurant before, I first tried to send a comment confidentiality through their website. However, this location is not listed in the drop-down list of Chicago locations. Since they don't disclose an email address, and the company's Facebook doesn't allow messages - I am forced to leave a public review which I hate to do especially over something small. Why they have unlisted locations is beyond me. Firstly, I was disappointed that this location does not provide fresh brewed ice tea as advertised prominently on the menu, but only has bottled tea. Disappointed, I asked just for a cup of water. The employee told me they ran out of water cups days ago. I understand that running out of supplies can happen, although ideally good management takes steps to ensure it does not- but if you run out right before your shipment comes in, you either ask a neighboring restaurant for a sleeve of cups or you go to the nearest store and buy some. There's a 7-11 a half block away and a plethora of other stores within a 5 minute walk that sell cups. You don't just go days or weeks without cups. I had planned to eat inside, but being thirsty, I took my meal over to the Starbucks across the street- whose staff gladly let me eat my meal with my Starbucks brewed iced tea and water cup! read more
