Thank you to Sweetgreen for the soft opening treat! Everything about it was truly a pleasure. The staff was so bubbly and energetic. Even before ordering we were stuffing our faces with samples and talking to employees about their personal favorites. I decided on the Peach & Goat Cheese since its seasonal, and it was phenomenal! Two huge scoops of peaches, a hefty portion of creamy goat cheese (seriously, so good), slivered almonds, and a ton of lettuce. I was actually surprised to see how much lettuce was being packed in my bowl. We also received complimentary drinks; they offer 3 sweetened teas and 3 unsweetened teas. I tried the unsweetened Iced Chai and loved it. Great complimentary flavors to my salad. It is a tiny place, so there's not a ton of seating. If you work nearby and are able to take it back to your office, or it's a nice day out so you can eat outside, then it shouldn't be a problem. The lines are quick and efficient. Such a fun opening! Terrific soft opening, awesome service and great customer service skills! the place is a delight for all the health conscious, gym body addicts who want a non greasy filling meal. I was superbly impressed with the efficiency of cleaning the salad bowls and refilling the the various fixings. I was warmly welcomed by a representative and walked through the options and escorted to the line outside of the door. It moved pretty quick and I picked the spicy sabzi(broccoli) with chicken as protein instead of tofu. All was free on the house including beverages. I ordered the food online. I felt like the salad dressing had an ingredient that made it smell a little odd. I went online to find the ingredient list and it was absent. Tried reaching store and customer service, where no one was available on phone. I requested text communication via my phone and on their website, and no one was available for live chat. So, I am sitting here on the dinner table for 1 hour staring at my food, but too afraid to take another bite. One thing is for sure, I am not ordering from a place that keeps their ingredient list a secret and are unavailable for any customer questions/concerns. read more

This place is amazing! It's like a much healthier chipotle but with much fresher greens and varieties to add to your bowl. The servings are quite big and leave you full. They have a wide range of fruits, meats, nuts, and sauces to add to your bowl. I would definitely go back and eat here. read more

After driving by Sweetgreen's North State Street location a few times I was intrigued and had to check it out so decided to stop by for lunch. Imagine if your favorite salad bar/health food restaurant had a baby with Chipotle.....Sweetgreen would be their offspring. From the line, you can see all of the ingredients for the salads/bowls and watch as your meal is being created. They have signature menu items, but you can also opt to create your own if that's your preference. I ordered the Winter Squash and Bleu Cheese Salad with Chicken and was shocked at how delicious it was. You get a very hearty serving which is served with a slice of bread. You can tell that all of the ingredients are super fresh and I loved how unique all of the signature salads were. Sweetgreen has even taken something as simple as a Caesar salad and elevated it with their unique spin, adding kale, parmesan crisps and lime! If you're coming during peak hours (think lunch/dinner time) there's no guarantee that seating will be available. It's a pretty small shop and with their crowd seating comes at a premium, so you might have to grab your food and go, but it's well worth it. I love that Sweetgreen has created a lean and health conscious menu that I actually look forward to eating. This will for sure be a staple of mine and I can't wait to return. Sweetgreen was love at first bite. After my first time there, all I could think about was how good it was and how my homemade salads never tasted like that. I went back a second time within a month, which is a lot for me. So far I've tried the Harvest Bowl as well as the seasonal Miso Bowl. Both were warm bowls, and both were amaze-balls. The Harvest Bowl had a harmony of various flavors and textures, ranging from apples and sweet potatoes to almonds and goat cheese. The Miso Bowl went a more umami route with its miso sesame ginger dressing (my mouth is watering just thinking about it). The bowls also come with a piece of bread, which is a nice bonus. Last time I went, I also got one of their drinks. I honestly don't remember what it was but I'd skip it next time. Generally they're quite dilute (mostly water, some juice), which may be some people's jam but not mine. Overall, I can't recommend Sweetgreen enough, whether you're a salad person or not. read more

Salads at sweetgreen are pretty good, but also expensive. I don't really feel it is a super friendly place, but I also don't really care about that. I get salads here about once or twice a week. Today, the lady who made my salad was clearly new. She was reading the ingredients from a list behind the counter. Again, not a problem. Except that the salad she made me was about half the size of the same salad I get every time. Definitely annoying considering the price and number of salad options in the area. Have a lot of friends rave about sweet greens so I walked over to see what the hypes about. It's like the took a freshii and somehow made it even more bougie. I was actually excited to try it after looking over the menu and seeing the list of all their different suppliers and partners. I'm willing to pay $15 for a salad if I know that it's supporting local economies. I was torn between the Caesar, the buffalo chicken, and falafel salad, eventually deciding on the falafel as I'm a sucker for any and all things falafel, especially when you throw in hummus, feta and tzatziki-esque dressing. So imagine my disappointment when I hand over my 14.something, sit down, and find like 4 of these little clearly burnt, balled, dry nuggets they called falafel. I'm non confrontational, so I sat there and ate them like a champ. They tore up the roof of my mouth like they were avenging the death of a loved one on their way down. I love this place. The employees were really nice and patient as well. I wasn't familiar with the menu and I didn't feel rushed at all. They were very kind and the place is kept clean. I built my own salad and the ingredients were very fresh. The dressing I chose was light yet perfect. After I ate I didn't need a nap so I really like this place because ain't nobody got time to sleep in the middle of the day. This food is filling yet will power you through your day. It was really good and filling mostly because it had chunks of chicken mixed with the kale. The caesar dressing wasn't too much and wasn't too little, it was the perfect amount. Didn't leave the salad dry or soggy. One of the reasons why I ordered this salad was due to how low in calories it is compared to the other salads and warm bowls. Here's my top picks : - harvest bowl (720 calories) a bit on the caloric side but this warm bowl is packed with goodness. Piled on top of a base of kale; quinoa and goat cheese are mixed with chicken and almonds. The dressing is a balsamic base and tastes absolutely amazing. The sweet potatoes added to it give it a nice kick. -kale Caesar: easily my top favorite salad from this place. At 420 calories , it's hard to believe this alternative Caesar salad is so good tasting and super healthy. My favorite part about it is there freshly squeezed lime they squeeze in to each order. Salads are warm bowls vary in price between 9-13 dollars. Completely worth the portion size and usage of fresh Ingredients. Great alternative to the boring favorites of Panera bread and Corner bakery in my opinion. They have an online app available for download with a generous point system that allows you to redeem for credit towards food. The kale ceaser is the best Caesar salad i have ever had! The Parmesan crisps are so delicious. I've ordered from this spot on ritual before and have also dined in. With my ritual order it was clearly labeled and placed on the shelf with other orders. However due to the poor service and the small portion size at State Street, I think I'm done. The portions are already very tightly measured. For the amount that they charge for an additional scoop and the premiums it is absolutely ridiculous. I love any place with great, real (kale, mixed greens, spinach) salad options and sweet green did not disappoint on that front. You can see all the ingredients they'll use to make your meal and the display is vibrant, fresh, and healthy looking. They also offer a solid handful of dressing and flavor options, including seasonal menu items - though I opted for the classic kale cesar. I really liked that they asked if I wanted my dressing light, medium, or heavy because a lot of health food places can skimp on the dressing. And I really really like that they actually toss your salad. It's so much better when it's a good mix of dressing and toppings instead of having to try and mix it yourself with your fork. One of my favorite places to eat in the city when i'm feeling healthy. Their salads are seriously all so good and wholesome. They really don't skimp on their ingredients and portions and I always leave satisfied as ever. Give their seasonal salads a go. I most recently had the "Beets Don't Kale My Vibe" (with a name like that how could I not order it...) and it was absolutely phenomenal. Everything about the salad was on point and the warm grains really did add on a layer of flavor and texture that contributed to the overall wholesomeness of the salad. Dropped by the union sq lication yesterday for dinner: ordered the tahini & kale cecear. Salads on the whole were good; but they do SKIMP OUT on the lettuce and other ingredients. The salads are basically half filled - to the line engraved inside the bowl - so you're not getting a full portion. Though they do taste good they're very expensive for what little you get. I'm on the small side so if I leave a restaurant hungry its a problem. Definitely need to get yourself a sandwich to fill you up before hand. These salads are more of an appetizer. read more

PESTO PORTOBELLO (775 cal) I'm starting to enjoy quinoa in my daily diet, so that with organic arugula, roasted chicken, warm portobello mix, raw corn, hot chickpeas and spicy broccoli topped with pesto vinaigrette was toasty, cozy, and full of love! MAKE YOUR OWN (? cal) I chose warm quinoa, organic wild rice, tomatoes, red onion, avocado, spicy sunflower seeds, local raisins, roasted chicken, and feta cheese. AMAZING texture combination that kept me interested in eating the bowl- and that's important to me (especially since salads are not usually in my emergency contact list) There's just something about enjoying a meal I put together but didn't cook that makes me smile from ear to ear - this also had the added bonus of making me full!
