My dad always took us to Cheshire and Sweetland's when we were growing up, given it was previously located in the heart of the Creston area. However, since Sweetland moved to a larger location, I haven't had the opportunity to go! It was very easy to find, parking was pretty simple (while there aren't a ton of spots, luckily it moves quickly) and the girls working the counter were super friendly. You have to take a ticket when you enter because it got so crowded for the holidays but it was a very well oiled machine. You could either buy some of the pre-packaged gifts (already wrapped!) or any of the items from the display cases. Given it had been a little while since I have been there, I wanted to wander around for a while first. We opted to buy a few items from the display case and you could ask them to gift wrap it for you (perfect for the holidays) or just take it to-go! We definitely did both. While this isn't going to be a super cheat candy/chocolate shop, the quality is definitely high up there and I would really encourage anyone who has a sweet tooth, that wants to support a longstanding locally owned spot, to give this a go! While it's not the most convenient to those that live downtown, Plainfield is a great area and easy to access. read more

I've been going to sweetlands since I was a child in the 1970s, but the store used to be down on Plainfield closer to Knapp street. Then recently past 8 years I've been going to the one on Plainfield near Northland Drive and I really love their coffee. It is a unique flavor so I usually go to the drive-thru and get myself a latte. But I really do love their candy, especially the dark chocolate covered orange peels. read more

Lots of amazing selection of candies and chocolates. I got the dark chocolate pecan bark and some gummy butterflies. Both were outstanding. The latte I had was really good, too. She was nice enough to walk my items over to where the coffee shop area is (separate register and slightly walled off) so I could purchase everything at once instead of running my card twice. I love the truffles I definitely recommend the mint truffles I think they are the best ones. Usually they have little candies for kids they're usually like gummy bears and little chocolates. The cashiers are very nice. Most of the time when you walk in it smells like candy so that's a plus if you're looking for good smells . So FIVE stars! read more

I happened to find this coffee shop while visiting family. The coffee is amazing, especially the seasonal flavors. The chocolate is perfect on the side, and there is a good variety. Worst coffee ever! The milk tasted burnt from over frothing and than had a lid on top which I assume was for the obvious view of over frothed milk on top. If you have an indoor cafe sitting area please use reusable glassware Ive never been served a cortado in a throw away cup when ordered for in cafe. A cortado is known for the glassware it's kept in. Not creamy and couldn't taste the coffee at all just over frothed burnt milk. Do NOT get coffee here if your a coffee connoisseur. read more

We make a trip to Sweetlands at least once a month! With a great selection of homemade chocolates & other candies, hard to go wrong. They offer milk chocolate, dark Chocolate, & sugar free (diabetic) candies. They also have a Jelly Belly Station, M&M Station and other hard pre-packaged candies. During the summer months their ice cream shop (attached to the building) opens for service. There is a drive thru on the side to make for easy treat pick ups on the go! Staff is always nice. This place is the honey hole for all things chocolate and candies. Now this place got a 5 star from me today, not because of what can get here, but for the 2 ladies working that day. I think all the items are a little on the high side for my liking, but the quality is definitely on the high side. We ordered 2 shakes. A chocolate and a caramel. Both were good. We also got some milk chocolate peanut clusters and some pecan turtles. Again, both were good. Now back to the 2 young ladies working that day. We went to an ice cream shop down the road to get a couple shakes. Surprised that they were already closed for the season. It's still mid September. Anyways, passing here to go there I saw the sign that said hand made shakes, so we went back. Not knowing that they closed in 4 minutes. I asked if it was to late to get shakes, knowing they would have to clean the machine again. They answered, certainly not to late. We ordered, got our drinks and chocolates, and were on our way. So if the owners read this review, whoever was closing on September 15th, they were awesome. read more

This place is awesome. It has become a tradition in my family for my parents to get my boyfriend and I a box of candy for each holiday. While I look forward to it my boyfriend takes it to a whole new level. As soon as he finishes his box (a few days) he is checking for the next holiday. They always have seasonal candies too like hearts for valentines day too so that is nice to look forward to. They have plenty of candies to suit every taste. My boyfriend is big on dark chocolate so he usually gets a bunch of the dark chocolate covered oreos. I on the other hand really like jelly candies so I get more of those. I think there are three box sizes. Usually we get the medium size and my parents pack it pretty full. I was just here last week and got a box for my niece and one for my nephew too. I got them the smaller box and filled it up pretty well and even with my addition of a half pound of jelly bellies (they have like every flavor) the total only came to $14! I always expect my total to be about twice as much as it ends up. AWESOME. They are very patient and happily walk back and forth adding little bits to our boxes and they can even gift wrap the boxes for free. It is a pretty awesome one stop for a holiday gift or something for a person who is hard to shop for. read more

Me & my mom & my brother was at the Sweetland Candies on June 1 2019 & i never been in there before when i walk in i was blown away with the amount of candy inside from chocolate to M&M's & Jelly Belly & plus the there was a coffee shop inside the candy store but haven't had the coffee from there yet & the staff was nice and respectful so i would recommend going to the Sweetland Candies shop because it clean and workers are respectful they don't rush they let you take your time & they accept cash & credit cards I don't know about Apple Pay hopefully soon they will accept Apple Pay & overall I give Sweetland Candies 4 or 5 stars!!!!!! read more

Came for the coffee shop's opening day for 50% off drinks! I got a 1/2 sweet pumpkin spice latte, and it was delicious! The menu has a good variety of options. A little pricey at $5 normally for a 16oz, so I'm not sure I'd get it again. I live in Dallas, Texas and order from Sweetlands to send to my Dad and Grandma in Michigan. They are uber picky when it comes to all foods, but they LOVE Sweetlands. I ordered for the first time a month or so ago. Sweetlands contacted me to informed me of the temperatures outside and how they didn't want the chocolate to melt and asked if they could ship it out another day. Being in Dallas, Texas I know how what heat does to chocolate. I loved that they cared enough to contact me. The customer service was great. I just placed another order today and had some issues with my credit card online since my billing and shipping address were different. I called them and my issue resolved immediately.
