    Breakfast sandwich
    Helen M.

I absolutely love this vegan only cafe and it is must stop for me and my sister anytime we are in Portland and let me tell you why IT IS SOOOOO GOOD!! I don't know what they put in their pastries, breakfast sandwiches, cream cheeses or matcha lattes but I crave it all the time and stuff my face to the max every single time. They are a small bakery/cafe with a straight forward menu, they don't overdo it. The use very clean ingredients and make everything fresh but that will be obvious from the taste of all the food. Staff is very friendly, helpful and provided excellent service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe is very clean and cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Here is what I have ordered from here so far and literally everything was a 5/5 and had no complaints at all! Not common but very much true and deserved for this cafe. Almond Croissant - 5/5 soft and full of flavor Breakfast sandwich - 5/5 tofu scramble is the best I ever had. I'm usually not a fan of tofu unless fried because of the texture but this is totally different and is done so well and full of flavors. The tempeh also adds that nice smoky flavor. If you are not a fan of tofu please do me a favor and give this a try, I am almost sure you will change your mind. Bagel with bacon chive cream cheese (forgot to take pic) was 5/5. It was warm and the house-made cream cheese was very very good! Goes well with the tofu scramble if sharing a plate or on its own too. Matcha Latte with oatmilk 5/5 - very simple but like I said before they use high quality ingredients with local Matcha and very obvious from the first sip. I have only ever had 1 other matcha that was just as good and that was in Houston, TX. Overall, this is a must visit for vegans or non vegans. You cannot tell the difference, I promise you!!

Breakfast sammie was very filling and the bread was soft. Good fuel for a hike. I would have gone back if they were open later in the day!

I ordered my fiancés birthday cheesecake here. This cheesecake was INCREDIBLE. He is not vegan and he couldn't even tell that the cheesecake was vegan. The berries taste so fresh and the cheesecake is creamy and smooth. The whip cream on the edges is light and fluffy. It's hard to only eat one piece we could eat the whole thing in one sitting it is so tasty. The danishes were also delicious as well as the chocolate peanut butter bar. The staff made ordering a cake incredibly easy and had it ready in w yuck turn around time. The basketry itself is a small and very homey feeling bakery. When we went I instantly felt at home and very comfortable. Any vegan or non vegan who loves pastries and cheesecake should definitely stop by

Reuben Sandwich with side of Macaroni Salad

Would kill to have one of these in Arizona. The location, seating, staff, and most importantly, food and coffee were all awesome. I had a really good Reuben with what tasted like Seitan and a side of pasta salad. It was very tasty and the perfect amount of food. Grabbed a vegetable cream cheese filled croissant to go and it made for a great breakfast the next day.

    Tofu scramble (includes tempeh bacon)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice casual cafe for a quick breakfast or pastries to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I arrived during the week upon opening and got their tofu scramble ($12), which comes with crumbled soft tofu seasoned to perfection with small amounts of spinach and red pepper, and accompanied by several pieces of tempeh bacon (basically tempeh with tons of liquid smoke). Quite tasty, though I would have preferred more spinach and red pepper in the scramble. It doesn't come with potatoes, but you can add that if you want. Pretty solid spot. Doesn't wise to the top of PDX's copious high-quality vegan breakfast spots, but this was very satisfying. Recommended for a quicker option or to go option.

Sweetpea Baking Company is 100% vegan. They were Portland's first all-vegan bakery in 2005 and they've continued to be awesome at their SE Stark St location to this day. In addition to baked goods of all kinds (pastries, cakes, bagels, cookies), their storefront offers breakfast, soups, sandwiches, and more. Saturday is donut day and Monday is croughnut day. During COVID there wasn't/isn't much in the way of seating, so grab your items to-go. I believe it is street parking only. They also do a lot of wholesale, so you may see their logo on products in the grocery store or restaurant counter. I've primarily had their cupcakes and cookies secondhand in this way, though I've stopped by their store a few times for a specific order. It's always been a good option, in my opinion!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a cute little rustic bakery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is a little hard to find just because there really isn't any signage out front.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted right away by the super friendly and helpful staff. My husband was goggle eyed at the giant cinnamon rolls and had to have one. I went for the breakfast sandwich. The cinnamon roll was gigantic, soft and sweet with a tender bread. The staff was nice enough to warm it for him and he tucked right in. My sandwich was piping hot and very flavorful. The tempeh bacon was wonderful! The sandwich filling was a little mushy for me but the flavor was so good it wasn't a big deal. We will definitely be back!

I only came in for a pastry. they didnt have the tea i ordered and received a Hibiscus tea instead. The pastries were to live for strongly recommend. Service was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside feels like a library . Its nice and quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've tried their bagels, sandwiches, and pastries. The pastries are delicious and very fresh, sometimes I don't believe they're vegan because the texture is so perfect. Last time I tried the bagel it wasn't good and it was missing the vegan meat I ordered so I removed one star. I also wish they knew what flavors of croissants they had the next day because they never know when I call :) other than that it's a great place!

I absolutely love this place. I wish they would open more locations so badly!! (One in Southern California perhaps...). My parents and I came here for brunch and we shared the tofu scramble, breakfast sandwich, and bacon cheddar quiche. We all loved the breakfast sandwich most, followed by the tofu scramble. The quiche wasn't our favorite but everything else really made up for that! We also shared a raspberry cream cheese danish and an almond ring. The danish was to die for! We also picked up some more pastries to take home and their danishes really are mind blowing. The blueberry cream cheese was my favorite!

Since it was my first time, I asked the staff for a recommendation. They suggested the bibimbap and mentioned it was on the spicy side, which I was totally okay with. While their cocktails looked really tempting, I ended up getting a Mexican Coke, and I loved that they had it. The bibimbap was absolutely delicious. It had so many different flavors and textures, and somehow they all worked perfectly together. The waiter also suggested mixing everything together before taking the first bite, which I really appreciated. The ambiance was super cute, with a cozy little tiki-bar vibe inside, and they also have a few outdoor tables. The service was exceptional throughout. This is an easy 5-star review from me.

Experience: I visited Top Burmese for dinner with a friend and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. This was both of our first times. I am vegan while my friend is not and we had no struggle finding options that suited our needs. What stood out: Service: The staff was knowledgable and checked in on us frequently. Our food only took about 20 minutes to come out despite a busy dinner rush and we were offered chili flakes to spice up our curries. was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Food: For the table, we ordered the samosas which were perfectly flaky and filled with fresh veggies. I ordered the ruby garden non alcoholic beverage as well as the tofu curry with coconut rice. Every bite and drink of what I ordered tasted unique and made with intention. The samosas were incredible dipped into what tasted like a sweet and sour chili sauce. My tofu curry and coconut rice had a delightful blend of textures and tasted like no other curry I have ever had before. Ambiance: The atmosphere is so cozy with Burmese decor alongside dim lighting. It is perfect for a date night or catching up with a friend. Overall, I will be returning to Top Burmese to enjoy more of their vegan friendly curries and appetizers!
