Dined here with some colleagues and we all loved it. This place has a fun, energetic vibe. Nice wine and cocktail selection. I ordered a Manhattan and it was excellent. For appies, the goat cheese with a fig and olive tapenade was to die for! I ordered the salmon, a little skeptical about its pairing with a spicy black bean puree, but it was excellent. Consistent excellent customer service, especially for Seattle proper! The restaurant is clean, decorated well, and smells yummy. The pizza crust is perfectly cooked as it is thin with some char, and most importantly crisp pepperoni. Served with spices infused in some olive oil to dip crusts in or pour on pizza. Caesar salad is amazing. Happy hour is worth it for two people needing a chill eatery with a beautiful outdoor seating area. One of my favorite spots in Seattle right now. read more

Very happily, their definition of "Shit We Like" overlaps very nicely with mine!! My partner had the pork chops and they were amazingly moist and the sauce that went with it was truly delicious. I had two appetizers for my entree and they were both wonderful -- grilled calamari and mussels in a dijon sauce. My partner is also super picky about his sazarac drink, and he was delighted at what he received -- just the right hint of absinthe that so many places miss or get wrong. And the true delight was the bread pudding. I have been on a multi-year quest to find the best bread pudding in Seattle and always sample if it is on the menu. Sadly, the long time reigning "best" was at a restaurant that we lost in the pandemic (Boat Street Kitchen -- you are missed!) and I now proclaim the bread pudding at SWeL the new very best [trumpets please; crown placed on bowed head!]. And don't let me forget the service -- really impeccable. One of the best dining experiences I've had in Seattle in a VERY long time. Showed up for happy hour on a Sunday, I was the first person here at 4:05. Very friendly bartender hooked me up with the menus. Order a craft beer ($1 off and a good selection) and the HH pepperoni pizza (probably smaller than normal, but cheaper too). Pizza came out quickly, but not too quickly (I could smell it cooking ). I inhaled it. Quite possibly the most tasty pizza I've had. The edges of all the pepperoni were crisped and curled into cups of salty explosive deliciousness. The tomato sauce tasted fresh, and the basil on top was divine. I could have eaten more, but was grateful the HH size was reasonable or I would have made myself sick. Will be back soon!! read more

We tried SweL after seeing the great reviews on Yelp and we're so glad we did! Everything is amazing! We ordered bruschetta, 2 pizzas, and the linguini and they were all amazing! There was nothing that I didn't love about this place. We came for happy hour and the well drinks were fabulous. Their house vodka was great. Sat at the bar and felt right at home. I called on new year's eve to check for reservation. Although I was not able to make a reservation, the person who picked up the phone was so attentive and took time to answer all of my questions. I could hear the busy noises in the background, assuming that they are super busy at this time of the evening. We have a companion pet which I asked to see if we can bring him in. It appears that they are ok with it so as long as it is in a stroller or in a carry bag. We definitely will NEED to come to this place to try. read more

My husband recently started working at Google and we have taken the opportunity to explore some of the local spots for dinner. This place is great - easy to get seated quickly for an early dinner, inviting decor, private booths, friendly staff. And the food is awesome, simple food done well. I would never have considered pairing salmon with refried beans and now I long for it. Also, drinks are solid and the flourless chocolate dessert is so good, it is reason enough to come in. A friend and I had dinner here a few nights ago. We were greeted by a really friendly staff, and had our choice of several different seating options. We ordered drinks and calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was tasty, but the main course was pretty awesome. I got the pork chop with Marsala sauce and mashed potatoes. I don't even remember what my friend had because my meal was so good. I do remember giving my friend a bite and his response was "Wow!". We left there feeling great, thanks to the great food and great staff. A few days later we returned and had dessert. I had the chocolate chip cookie, and it was fantastic. It is served in an iron skillet with a scoop of ice cream on top. I ate every crumb. I will definitely be coming back to this place again on my next trip to Seattle. read more

This place is located right next to my workplace and the food is so delicious. I can't even express how good it is. I started off with the Manila Clams, Penn Cove Mussels with a white wine broth and for my main dish I ordered Carne Asada skirt steak. The way that they cooked and seasoned the steak was absolutely perfect, the flavors just melted in my mouth. My coworker ordered the French Cut Pork Chops and that was also perfectly cooked; I actually plan to take my boyfriend here and order the French Cut Pork Chops for myself. The decor of the restaurant is fabulous, I really like the outside seating area because it has a very romantic vibe to it. There's also blankets neatly folded for guests if it gets to chilly outside. I really recommend this spot for anyone that hasn't tried it yet, the food is phenomenal and priced reasonably. You have to check it out! read more

We came here on a weekday night with friends - we still had an hour long wait! We waited at the bar and got some appetizers. The hummus and pita was excellent - the pita was house made with some additional spice, and the bruschetta was bursting with flavor. I would go back just for another plate of the bruschetta. When we finally got a table, we ordered the entree. I had the mushroom tartaglione - it was very underwhelming. It didn't have any flavor, just a mass of cream and the mushrooms were slightly overcooked. I was disappointed as I was looking forward to the entree after the delicious appetizers. I would give Swel another try if we were in the area and order a different entree. read more

Just left SWeL. What a great new place! We sat at the bar on a busy Friday and had the drink special (delicious Montauk Mule) and Lush beer on tap. We liked the caprese salad off the Fresh sheet and could have had any of several delicious sounding things off the menu. Settled on the beer salad (very good but I wanted more arugula - as always) and a pancetta pizza (perfectly done). The 50/50 burger was a temptation that we resisted, but I'm not sure how. 50% ground sirloin and 50% ground bacon? Why hasn't anyone thought of this before? read more

Went to Swel for the first time and my wife and I really enjoyed it. Great ambiance, great service, and we also got to meet and have some great conversation with the owners, Ted and Ashley. Very nice, humble, and appreciative owners...the kind of people you want to come back and visit again and again. This always makes the experience more enjoyable. I had planned to have one of the outstanding dinners, but couldn't pass up the great happy hour pizzas that were outstanding. We had the pear Gorgonzola and the Italian sausage pizzas - both were excellent as was the Caesar. Great wine, beer and drink selections too. SWeL is my favorite restaurant in Seattle BY FAR. The food is amazing and never disappoints. I crave their menu ALL of the time. However, I have to say, it's the service that truly makes this place (even though the food is delicious). Sit at the bar and enjoy your meal with Carly. She's so fun to chat with and makes a killer cocktail. She ensures that you always have what you need and that you have a great experience. Walked in after cider tasting at Schilling and had a fabulous time celebrating a friends birthday. We really liked our waiter (can't recall his name), he had great food recommendations and was just an overall fun person. I had the pork chops and loved the mushroom sauce and the pear bread pudding was fabulous. It was like eating the best french toast you've ever had with ice cream on top, shared it with 4 of us. This was probably my favorite place we went to when we visited Seattle. It's great food with a good price. Excellent selection and variety of beers, wines and spirits!! My brother just turned 21 and was new to the drinking scene, and the waitress was kind and helpful to describe what everything was and how it tasted. We all loved our drinks, even me who is not normally a beer person, loved the beer I got. The food was amazing!! We got the oysters, duck confit pizza, guacamole, tacos and a Caesar salad, all to split with our table. Everything was amazing, fresh, and flavorful. We caved and ended up getting dessert as well, which was the right choice. Their blueberry baked dish and baked pear bread pudding (I don't remember exactly what they were called but this is close) we're both outstanding. All of us were full before desert, but that didn't stop us from finishing every bite, and some people even scrapes to the bottom of the dishes. The pear was so good my mother is determined to learn how to make this. Overall, it was an great place! The staff is nice, helpful, and attentive.
