I got the chicken caesar salad, which came with some tasty croutons and fairly large parmesan shavings, and was again impressed. One of my coworkers got a taco trio, which looked really tasty, and then my other coworker and I split the BBQ chicken flatbread, which was also fantastic. We were able to get some seats outside on their really nice outdoor patio, though the interior had a lot of nice looking seating accommodations of all sorts as well, none of which felt like it was cramped or busy by any means. For their menu, The Rail had three options for each of the three courses. I had the "Best Dill Pickle Chips - Ever," Smash Burger & Fries, and Buckeye Pie. The Dill Pickle Chips were great; lightly breaded, not too heavy, and well cooked! They came with jalapeño ranch, which I didn't try. The fries were okay and the smash burger was great! It might have had too many onions on it, but they were good and the cheese was nice and melted, but not dripping all over the plate. I brought the Buckeye Pie home and let it get to around room temperature. So much peanut butter and chocolate!!! I can't wait to go again!

I'm not sure what's happened over the last year though. The customer service has been poor, and I reached a 'can't return' moment recently. There was a large sign outside that said "Happy hour deal, 10 dollars for a burger and a beer". The bill came to 15 dollars. I talked to a bartender and to explain the mistake and they said that's actually official policy, to not give the happy hour price unless you ask for it while ordering. I've never heard of that before. I said that's an unethical policy and they could not have cared less. No apologies, nothing. Now, if it's truly the businesses policy, the employees are just doing their job. They don't have to care, but it would have been nice if they pretended to sympathize. Ultimately, it's either a bizarre, rude policy, or the employees are skimming the difference. Neither option is ok with me.
