First and foremost. The Pad See Eww (PSE) was on par. I don't get all the bad reviews on it. They may have added a bit too much fish sauce but it wasn't bad at all. Whoever is giving the PSE bad reviews have obviously never tasted authentic PSE. My gripe is mainly with the portion sizes. For $10+, I expected a bit more food. The meat:noodle/veggie ratio was great. But it felt like such a small portion of food. Me and my co workers ordered 4 items and our total came out to $60. Have frequented often and am placing this on hold now. The curries/dishes do not come with veggies. The only veggies are sliced green and red peppers, and maybe some onion. Where is mushroom? Broccoli? Anything? Tastes half assed in all ways. Things have gone downhill fast since I began visiting. I ordered the Swing Special today and I was very disappointed. I've ordered this dish many of times and have always been very satisfied, however today was not one of them. I know these are trying times for the restaurant industry and I do sympathize with them but the dish I received today had no flavor, my wife tried seasoning the food to make it tasty with no success. It had no broth with the meal, which is usually the best part of it, and the chicken tasted boiled and unseasoned. Been to a handful of thai joints in the area. Most are sufficient, one is amazing (Aloy Modern Thai), and this place just stinks. Literally smells of toilet and the food was soaked in grease. I've eaten here before and they do in fact have decent food. My issue with them is their customer service. I walked in with a friend for dinner tonight at 8:25. I didn't know they closed at 9 on mondays until we saw it on the door before we entered. We both agreed to try and be in and out by 9. We sat down and the woman working the front gave us 90 seconds to look at the menu before asking if we knew what we want. I asked for a few more minutes since I hadn't gotten a chance to get to the end of the page. Less than 2 minutes pass by before an older man approaches us and asks if we knew what we wanted (I guess the woman had nodded him over to us). I said just one more minute because I was still deciding.This is when his face changed into a scowl and in a very rude tone told us that we needed to "hurry" because the kitchen was going to close in 15 minutes, as if we'd been in there more than 4 minutes. Now it wasn't the fact that he was relaying to us that the kitchen was closing that caused me to get up and walk out, it was the tone and facial expressions that came along with it. I've worked in service before and that was beyond unacceptable. I would never. Their tables were also super sticky. Like I said before, their food is good, but it's not worth the mistreatment. The atmosphere is super cute with puffer fish lamps and tropical decor. The service is quick and the food is reasonably priced for the large portions. I had the pad Thai which was pretty good. We also had crab Rangoon's which were good, I enjoyed the dipping sauce. Overall would definitely go back, it's very convenient to either eat in or take out. read more

I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. I had two meals and it wasn't even close to what they had years ago. The tables were Sticky, menu was dirty and there were many flies flying in the restaurant. Sorry I had to come back to edit my review. I have been going to this location since it opened. It was great in the beginning but once the original owner/founder sold it or turned it over to the current people... The quality and consistency of both flavor and taste of the dishes is a hit or miss. Especially if you are part Asian. We have eaten here quite a few times and each time is as good and consistent as the last. Their Papaya Salad is delicious, and always quick to the table. The Kow Soy is served with the traditional fixings and is my personal favorite. We have also had Pad Prik King and it is the favorite of my friend. And of course, the safety, Pad Thai is consistently good. This last time we enjoyed cocktails and they were good. Do yourself a service and get the Mango Mojito. The service is always quick and attentive. We enjoy coming here and we are always sure we will have a delicious dinner. read more

This place is not a good deal anymore. Their portions are tiny! I spent $32 on 2 entrees and an order of gyoza, and even the box of rice was tiny. At most Thai restaurants that would get me at least 2 meals out of each entree, but we ate all of it and were still hungry. It's a rip off - won't be going back. read more

It's a fancier Thai restaurant that has really good food and service. I would highly recommend this place and I think the prices were pretty average. I'm also glad that medium spicy for curry is actually made medium spicy! There is a parking lot and a nice looking bar that we'll have to try out the next time we go in too. read more

Ordered takeout and everything was just ok. Spring rolls were hard and seemed like they'd been prepared at least a day in advance, noodle dishes had good flavors but consisted of little more than noodles and a skimpy portion of protein and the sticky rice was so hard we gave up on trying to cut through it with utensils. The tofu Pad Cha was a highlight but even with ordering extra vegetables (for $4) it just showed up looking like what should have come with a regular entree. Wouldn't avoid this place but wouldn't go out of my way to revisit. read more

I thought the food was pretty good, and fairly priced. I had the "Jungle Curry" that was advertised as "hot," but it really wasn't that hot, at least not by my tastes. I would say the dish I had ranked about 5.5 or 6 on a hot scale of 1-10. I did, however, enjoy the dish, and thought it was very tasty. It was kind of like a bowl of soup with rice on the side. I had mine with tofu, and I like both the big chunks of tofu, and the way they were cooked. I might have been a little happier with more volume for $10.50, but it did come with a scoop of rice, and they do offer the brown rice that I prefer. It seemed to me that customers can expect to pay between $10 to $13.00 for regular entrees that are pretty good, but kind of "pedestrian," too - good, but not really special. I loved the decor of the place, the ambience, and the service. I also loved that there were a number of gluten-free, and vegan/vegetarian options that are clearly marked right on the menu. The biggest problem with this place is finding a place to park. It seems three or four restaurants at this location share the same, small parking lot, and it is very small. For example, when we arrived around 6:00 p.m. to dine, we were lucky to find a place to park, but, when we went inside, there were only a few people in there. The place filled up quickly after that, but I don't know where people were parking. I guess you people can park on the street, but it's right on Colorado Boulevard, and there's no parking there. I really do not know where people were going when they could not find a place in the small lot to the north. One final note for people with hearing problems, and hearing aids. The walls are "brick." Sounds echo off the hard walls, and are magnified if the room gets noisy. My wife who uses hearing aids had to turn them off. I who do not use hearing aids found the screeching of little voices a bit much to bear. It's not a deal-killer, but it is something to keep in mind. read more

I used get swing Thai every single week and it was sooooooo good. They used to know my order and never messed it up. However I went in today and it's just not the same. My pork dumplings weren't as crispy and delicious and they gave me the completely wrong order. I get tofu pad Thai without egg and they gave me chicken pad Thai, which I could live with but I'm allergic to eggs so now I can't eat it. I tried a few bites and the chicken was super dry. I always order in house so that they don't have to pay fees but maybe just order over grubhub so you can get a refund if your food is inedible. Hoping they can redeem themselves soon. read more

I feel I should put a disclaimer on this review because I actually didn't have any food here. Honestly, I never got the chance which is why I'll never be back at this location or any other location ever again. I train dogs for Guide Dogs for the Blind. As part of my duties, I need to socialize him in restaurants, stores, etc. At Swing Thai, the Americans with Disabilities Act apparently does not exist. After sitting with a friend of mine (also with a dog), I got the feeling from the hostess there was an issue. My friend scampered to the bathroom and took her training dog with her. The hostess came over and asked me to sit outside mainly because "that lady took her dog into the restaurant and dogs are not allowed". After explaining our purpose, she continued to refuse to accept our existence and rights. After several more attempts to explain the law, we left, our bellies empty. Intolerance is still alive my friends, and it can be found at Swing Thai. read more

I will give them 5 stars because they deserve it. The food is very good. My fave is the green curry medium hot. Chicken satay and crab pastries can also think of steamed dumplings. This place is nothing to rave about but it sure doesn't suck. Hindsight is 20/20 but Jared and I should have ordered from Tommy's Thai instead. I liked my noodle dish but it was average. I will say this however, the people working there were really nice and damn that place is quick! Portions are EXTREMELY small and prices are REALLY HIGH. We ordered 2 curries and got tiny 1 cup bowls with 2 pieces of meat and 2 slices of a bell pepper each. The curry tasted fine, but in all we paid $33 for two tiny bowls of curry and 1 beer. We're not big eaters but this was very disappointing. I asked for a steak knife and was brought a butter knife twice. Our waiter didn't seem to understand what I was asking for. Then we lost track of him and had to ask a busser for our a check because he never returned to check on us. Very bad experience overall. Will not be going back. read more

Go somewhere else! This place is dangerous. Apparently the waiters really wanted to go home, as they started mopping while customers were still in there. They didn't even put up a sign, and my mom slipped on the wet hardwood flooring and fell HARD. Someone that worked there (didn't identify themselves) came forward and was like..."geez, are you ok?" They agreed they should have put up a sign, but no "sorry", "how can I help", etc... I hope they either change their policy to wait to mop the floor until customers leave, or at the very least they should put up a sign before someone gets seriously hurt. Just a total lack of empathy, not even a sorry, one cashier didn't even look up from their phone. The food was ok--nothing stellar. It used to be cool when you could just order your food (with pork) and then get a table. Now you sit, have a waitress and place an order. The prices are a bit higher and the selections have changed some. if you want good thai, go to Tommy's on Colfax. If you want somewhat tasty, fast foody thai for more money then come here. Three stars is about right for this place. A coworker and I were sad to find out Smiling Moose Deli had moved, and came here instead of resorting to cafeteria fare. It is nicely decorated and we were seated immediately. Our server was courteous enough, but did seem a little put out by questions about the gluten free menu. My dish, the green curry with chicken, probably warrants five stars. The coconut milk wasn't overpowering and the eggplant was a nice touch. My friend's BBQ Thai Herb Chicken, however, was very dry, and some of the pieces were very undercooked. After a bit of back-and-forth, the server was convinced that yes, he should take the raw chicken off the bill and offer her something else. She ended up with the chicken and shrimp spring rolls and said they were quite good. I might go back, but prefer Tommy's on Colfax. read more

I live a few blocks from here and have dined in a couple times and it was always decent. However, I placed an order for pick up the other night. When we went to get it we tipped the hostess well and went home to eat. To our dismay the portions were horrifically tiny, especially at 10$ each! The to-go came in the shallow black rectangular containers.. I could easily push all the food to one side of it. It must be a mistake! I called, I politely told the manager a portions were vastly smaller than usual.... she was very rude. She told me I was welcome to bring it back and she would make another one, but it would be the same exact size. I asked her what the point of that would be blah blah blah......i kept my cool the whole time since I have worked in the industry over 10 years. She basically told me they measure it out...I would get 2 pieces of broccoli, 1 red pepper slice, 1 green pepper slice etc etc. I told her s a customer I was not satisfied...and she hung up on me. This Swing Thai location consistently serves up good food. I especially like the Panang Curry with Coconut Milk with medium heat...SO good. I also recommend the fried wontons.
