The food was decent, nothing to write home about but it did scratch the itch for Pad Thai. The service made up for what lacked in the food! Everyone was very nice and helpful. The decorations were very original and overall the atmosphere was pleasant. Gave Thai Swing 3 stars because it was decent but I wouldn't necessarily suggest it to anyone. I have been looking for affordable and tasty Thai food in Denver. And the best part is that it's only 10 min away from home. When I entered the restaurant I totally noticed the cute small desks in front of the window that appeared to be the waiting area for pick up orders. I also noticed immediately the pretty lit bar to the left of the entrance. The low lighting and glows from the blowfish hanging lamps really created an ambience for the place. AAddItionally, the wall art in the restaurant was beautiful and even caught my 5 year old daughter's eye. She said it was very beautiful. This would a great date night spot or casual-nice dinner place with the family. Tonight I ordered the vegetable fried rice at the medium spice level. It was loaded with crunchy veggies such as red and green bell peppers, mushrooms, cucumbers and carrots. The spice had some heat even at medium, so I balanced it out with some plain jasmine rice. I would say this was more like 3 1/2 stars but I rounded up since the service was really nice. the Tom Kah was wonderfully flavorful, broth was outstanding... but too many mushrooms and the chicken was somehow kinda chewy. veggie egg rolls were crunchy and tasty but pretty greasy. pad Thai was good, not great. it did have a lot of veggies. best thing we had was the Swing Special with shrimp... that was excellent, my husband cleaned his plate! spice level on everything was on point. overall...I'd come here again, but I've had better. read more

Stopped into Swing Thai because it's right next door to one of our favorite taprooms (Congress Park). We came on a Thursday afternoon and there were maybe 3 others parties in the whole restaurant and it took more than 10 minutes for someone to come over to us after we'd been seated... But once we ordered the food came out fast and the crab and cheese wontons were probably the best I've ever had. I was disappointed the drunken noodles were pretty bland even though I asked for "hot". I will definitely come back to Swing if I need crab cheese wontons to-go. read more

It was 90% clumped noodles, without a single bean sprout, had two pieces of tofu and maybe 6 pieces of vegetables. Also struggled to find any hint of peanuts. Usually I like more hole in the wall kind of places for pad thai instead of places like Swing Thai but they work in a pinch. Their pad thai is decent, not the best I've ever had but not the worst. When I ask for spicy it hasn't been overly spicy which makes me a sad panda and the portion sizes aren't comparable to the price so that kinda sucks. Hanging out with my child before our TJ shopping we decided to stop at Swing Thai for a bite. Service was very friendly, except the young guy who sat us. (He was friendly enough, but I'm 9.5 months pregnant and he wanted to seat us at a very uncomfortable looking chair only table while most everyone else was at the tables with the booth like benches... I rejected his suggestion and said I'd like to be comfortable.) My son loves Thai food. We ordered fried veggie egg rolls to start, three came and they were light and tasty. The kid ate two, he was very thrilled with them. I had a Thai iced tea (it was extra sweet but at that moment I actually enjoyed the super sweetness to it! So I definitely will try it again in case my taste buds just wanted sugar). I was extremely happy to see they offered a kids menu option! He got the chicken satay and enjoyed it. I tasted it but it was a bit dry but I'm not a kid... they can handle that. It was a great deal price wise, three skewers, rice and a drink for like $5-6. Score. I ordered yellow curry with added tofu. It was tasty however I was sad to see no potatoes. I'm used to potatoes in my yellow curry. Maybe that's not normal, but it has been at most Cali Thai restaurants. So because of my reflux, I left the peppers and onions but had a couple mushrooms (nice bonus I'm not used to) and whatever else was in it. I normally don't eat the rice and give it to the kid but the curry was yummy enough so I did in fact use it to soak up some sauce. Tofu was a little over cooked and curry had a bit too much salt. All in all I will stop here again but I'm going to try a different dish to try and find my favourite item here. Didn't pay attention to see if they had larb, that would be my next order if so. Great resto for Brunch, lunch and or dinner. Met up for a brunch here with my girlfriend. Great choice I must say. Our server was quick and mildly persistent, which is good! The noodles had a nice texture, The tofu was firm and plentiful, and the bean sprouts on top went well with the heat. Other than that I was not a huge fan. The decor is modern and nice, which explains why my smaller portion was nearly $10. The services was abysmal. We waited many minutes to order. My water often sat empty, and worst of all our meals arrived cold. Even my skinny coworker commented on the small portion size. Although I do love their Thai dishes, their curries, and their pud thai (and pud see you, giving a nod to the nearby med campus of CU); and am a fan of the decor in the interior; I was *not* happy recently when I dropped by for a spontaneous to-go order to see that their excellent awesome chicken/shrimp spring rolls, laden with delectable mid-size shrimp, juicy non-breaded chicken, rice noodles and lettuce all wrapped in rice paper, had gone from $4 for a to-go order of 2, to $2.50 and were only served as a single roll. WTF, peeps?!?? *Not* cool. Frowny face. It actually caused me to walk out of the place and leave, I was so annoyed. Yeah, I know, I know, only a dollar more, but still... That being said, they do have an excellent selection of curries, and many of their dishes are also gluten-free and/or vegan, really tasty salads and some nice menu creations. They even have mochi ice cream here, for you mochi junkies. I've been here a double handful of times before, so maybe the next visit, hopefully with 2 people I know who like this place, will be a 4-star and even it out some... The restaurant is stylish and clean. Food is average, not authentic Thai, but still ok, portions are on the smaller side. Ordered a beef jungle curry, consistency was more of soup than a curry. The white rice was not Thai jasmine rice, it was actually old rice (as in maybe made that morning -we were there for dinner) that we would normally used for fried rice. The beef Pad See U was average too. There was flavor but was not authentic tasting. If you like just flavored Asian food this place would be for you, but if you are in search of authentic Thai, this is not the place. read more

I try. I try so so hard to enjoy Swing Thai. I have begrudgingly gone over 4 times, each with the hope of finding a meal I might enjoy. I keep saying "I try" because I am giving it the most admirable try possible. I attempt to smile and become hungry. But I'd rather eat steak than tofu. Soups... coconut & lemongrass...can't go wrong with that right? Ugh. I will not comment any further. Pad Thai - I love cilantro. And carrots! And lime! And egg! Mix them all together with some sprouts - and peanuts and - well - I could not stomach more than a few bites. Red Curry with Coconut Milk - the title makes my mouth water. But alas, maybe the bamboo ruined it, I do not know, but I just could not continue eating it. I could go on and on. But I will not. I praise people for enjoying Thai food. I try to like it. Swing Thai on Colorado Blvd. is my favorite place to get 'pad thai' and 'chicken coconut soup'. I would rate it a 5 star but those are the only items i've had... and so I have no idea how the rest of the menu rates. The pad thai noodles are perfectly cooked, veggies are fresh and crisp, the meat (doesnt matter what you get its all awesome!) cooked to perfection and the sauce (I usually get medium - it's hot enough!) is a perfect blend of the sweet and savory aspect we love in Thai cuisine. Its a well crafted dish with tons of developing flavor. Their coconut chicken soup is AMAZING! Every time i go there, I have to order this soup! It was about 85 degrees outside... but I didnt care, it's like an addiction. As you sip the soup, the taste is first sweet and ends on a sour note... the veggies aren't stewed down, so they have the perfect bite. It's a savory soup that is sure to give your taste buds a jolt! A bit of heat too, I might add - you'll be sniffling o(^_^)o Reading through other reviews, it seems as though there has been complaints on service, portions and price. It is a little pricer, but nothing extreme. The service has always been great - not exceptional, but not the opposite either. I've also noticed that we end up a few before closing time. So I'm sure depending on how busy they are would impact their service. I have a hard time finishing my pad thai.... so I would say the portion size on this dish is decent. Being a frequent visiter of their LoDo location [which is now closed], I became obsessed with their food, service, atmosphere and more. Being that I work off CO blvd now, my coworker and i ventured over to their new location the day after thanksgiving. Here are the takeaways: Atmosphere = Young, cool and provides a relaxed experience. The tables are ultra close together however. Service= Attentitive, friendly and helpful. My water glass was never empty!! :) Quality = food is still delicious and filling. their portions are much smaller than other locations and same price...which i thought was interesting. I have a problem with my eyes being bigger than stomach so i ended up taking leftovers home. Prices = A bit steap, but okay for what you get. Overall- this place is worth a 2nd trip :) read more

The Hubs & I stopped for a quick lunch and were immediately seated. The decor is fun, with inflated puffer-fish lights. We weren't super hungry so we split an entrée. It had peanut sauce and the waiter causioned us that it was quite spicy. So we asked for it to be mild. It came out of the kitchen very quickly and I could tell by the orange-Sriracha color of the sauce that it wasn't going to be 'mild'. The flavor was amazing! The sweetness of the peanut sauce mitigated some of the heat but our lips were burning! We both enjoyed the dish but agreed that we couldn't have handled a full entrée to ourselves. Lunch 5/27/16 The decor restaurant is very authentic and pleasing to the eye, and service was attentive but not intrusive. My love and I had the pad thai which was one of the best I have eaten, my son-in-law had one of his favorites; Panang curry with coconut milk dry red chili, lemongrass, lime Leaf, bell peppers, and chicken. Pretty ok Thai. It's close which means I go for the convenience. The decor is great, so dine in if you can. Full bar which is a plus! All the dishes don't really feel or taste authentic. Pad Thai was very disappointing; actually many of their noodle dishes are. The noodles always seem overcooked and gummy. I've enjoyed their fried rice many times though, so that would be my recommendation. The Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups are some of their more flavorful items. I think this is a solid choice if you're in the area and have visited a couple times. It's good for people who may think they enjoy Thai food but don't really know it. Sort of an Americanized version. I stopped in last night to pick up food for friends at the hospital. We had beef pad thai, drunken noodles with chicken, and panang curry with shrimp. I personally had the Panang Curry and ordered it hot. Though it had a good amount of spice, it was definitely not thai hot. I wish that places were more consistent with heat levels. I would never order anything less than hot here. The curry itself was very tasty and the shrimp had the tails on (no other shell) but the peppers were cut in strips that made it quite difficult to eat. Of course I had the distinct disadvantage of eating out of the carton inside a hospital room with plastic flatware, so there you go. The bathroom is really gross and dirty.
