I'm so sad I have to write this but I believe in full disclosure. We planned a double date day with our friends. We hadn't been to swing Thai in a couple years due to... (you guessed it). We looked forward to enjoying the lunch with friends. Immediately upon arriving we were greeted by a friendly woman. The gentleman who took us to our table (we were the first to be seated upon opening) showed us the table. After about 2 min he asked abruptly if we were ready to order. We politely asked for more time. He seemed highly irritated to the point our friend made a comment about how he seemed to be upset we didn't order. From there on it was downhill. He came back and took our order and seemed anything we asked for was a chore. Our friend ordered beef pad Thai. After we received our meals he was told they were out of beef ‍. So we were served our meals at 3 separate times. We were never talked to again. Mind you there were only 2 other tables of guests at this point. No water refills. Our friend had to get up and get us extra napkins because the server never returned to help us. It's sad when customer service has hit an all time low. Needless to say after 15+ years of supporting this restaurant I don't think we will be returning. read more

They are always super nice so I hate to leave a not-great review. But know that when you have the option of purchasing veggies for your pad Thai, they are not kidding. We ordered takeout tonight and the pad Thai was noodles with some protein of our choice. There was a very scant smattering of bean sprouts and an equally small amount of scallions. Not a single vegetable. We also ordered crab cheese wontons (we wanted Tod mun, but apparently they don't offer the fish cakes); the wontons were kind of chewy with not very much filling. All in all fairly meh for $43 for two. read more

The Pad Thai was just okay. I was more disappointed in the staff's hurried attitude. We arrived at 8:15 on a Friday and were told the place would stop serving at 9. Every booth was full, and diners arrived after we did, but the staff kept hurrying us along, taking dishes almost before we were finished without asking, hovering and fussing, and rushing the payment. I felt unwelcome and couldn't enjoy the meal or the wine. This early shut down seems like an annoying Denver thing, cowtown and chintzy. If a restaurant wants to close completely at 9, which is ridiculous on a weekend anyway, it should stop admitting diners after 8. But if it claims to be open until 9, it means they serve people who arrive at 8:55 and let them eat at their leisure. read more

I ordered delivery in the Yelp app: Massaman Curry with shrimp and brown rice. Delivery was faster than expected. The medium spiciness was perfect. In the app it indicated that there would be bamboo, peppers, and bok choy. I was excited about this; I like all of thos things. But the curry only had shrimp, onions, two chunks of (pretty) potatoes, and a good amount of whole peanuts, so I was disappointed about the missing veggies. We were very impressed with both the food and service here. I ordered the Pad Thai Woon Sen and Hubby got the Pad Thai, both with Tofu. The portions were huge (will be both lunch and dinner for us!) and the pad Thai had the perfect amount of tang. We also got the veggie spring rolls, which were super fat and the sweet and sour sauce was amazing. Food came unusually fast and our server was very friendly. They have plan based options and lots of drink selections including yummy cocktails. While visiting a friend in Denver this past weekend & in need of a filling dinner after a day of hiking we chose to eat at Swing Thai. The restaurant was not crowded at all when we got there around 8- we had our pick of seats. Swing Thai has booths and tables, and has a big open front window that I'm sure lets a lot of light in during the day. Halfway through our meal we noticed that the hanging overhead lights were actually puffer-fish! I ordered vegetable pad see ew "hot" on the scale of hotness- (mild, medium, hot, and thai hot) and it was delicious, if not a little on the greasy side. My friends had the chicken pad thai "medium hot" which they enjoyed as well. Each dish has a lot of food though- two people could definitely split a dish if you don't want to take home leftovers. Our waitress was very sweet and came to check on us throughout our meal; however she didn't ask how we wanted to split the bill. When we asked her if she could divide the single check into separate checks, she gladly did so- but it wasn't correct. After a few back-and-forths of this, (we should have just split it equally and forgotten it) we finally had the correct checks, paid, and grabbed a mint on the way out. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with Swing Thai and am feeling sheepish for poo pooing it as a dining option all these years. My husband and I dined in at the Colorado location early on a Saturday night. It was quiet but not in a bad way. There was also some smooth jazz playing which really made us feel like early birds. You can't really see it well from the outside but this location has a pretty cool Thai island bar with fun cocktails, blowfish lights and bamboo accents. That won my husband over right away, he's a sucker for anything tiki. Food wise, we had drinks, fried wontons, special yellow curry and pineapple rice. We scarfed down everything within 10 minutes. Fried rice was probably the star dish, but everything else was tasty. Service is fine and food comes out fast. I know they do a lot of takeout/delivery orders, which is great when you don't want to leave the house. But if it's a nice night and you are craving Thai food, go IRL. It's good! read more

I've heard the buzz about Swing Thai for years now, but I've always had a go-to Thai restaurant... Until a couple years ago when they changed ownership. I was left without a place to get my Pad Thai and Thai Iced Teas'. Until today! The Atmosphere: I love the decor they use around the restaurant. The bamboo stalks along the walls give such a cool look, especially mixed with the brick of the adjacent business. I also love the Thailand mural on the back wall and the sphere lighting in nets! The Food: Really good! I feel bad that I put off coming here for sooo long! My Pad Thai (medium spice) was perfect. Great flavor and not too spicy. The Thai Iced Tea was easily one of the best I've had! I've never liked when Thai restaurants put tons of bean sprouts and peanuts on their Pad Thai, but here at Swing Thai they do it right! Perfect ratios of chicken, to noodle, to toppings. The Service: I showed up within fifteen minutes of their opening so it was by no means busy. I was seated quickly and my meal came out just a promptly too. However, I did have a longer than usual wait for my check at the end of the meal. Had I been there on a lunch break or with a pressing engagement after, I may have been a bit frustrated. The Cost: Totally reasonable for what you get! The plate seems small when it arrives at your table, however that is Pad Thai's best deception. After you start eating you realize you've barley made a dent and you're almost full! Awesome! Anywhere I can get a tasty lunch for under $20 is a-okay in my book! Now that I know what I've been missing all these years, I have some lost time to make up for here at Swing Thai. So if you'll excuse me, I need to go stuff my face with copious amounts of Pad Thai and wash it down with gallons of Thai Iced Tea!! **Caution: The parking situation is a little crazy! Sometimes you make a decision based on location, location, location. I just left the Denver VA (which is all of 1 minute away from this establishment) hungry as I hadn't yet had lunch. 3pm, I acknowledge is an awkward time of day for a meal but I was pleasantly surprised by how accommodating they were. I fully expect most places to be closed or service to be slow at this awkward not lunch and definitely not dinner time but not Swing Thai. I like things spicy, as my nickname suggests, so I asked the server if I was able to order dishes made hotter- they accommodated! I ordered the Pad Prik King with chicken (with the spice level upped to extra hot) and it knocked my socks off. It was served with a bowl of rice, which made it more scrumptious as I could soak up the spicy sauce with the white rice (brown is also available for you heathens who prefer it). We had wanted to stop in here a few days ago, but it was super warm in there. It was pleasantly air conditioner today. To start, the decor was really neat. I really appreciated the bamboo walls and the neat blowfish lighting. The service was very good as well. Our server was very attentive and friendly. She was also really good about understanding and checking on my friend's nut allergy. In terms of the food, we started with a tofu fresh spring roll. The peanut sauce and ingredients inside the roll were quite fresh. I especially appreciated that the tofu was marinated. I was however pretty disappointed with the rice paper wrapping, as it had a hard, rubbery texture suggesting Our main entrees were quite good. Ordered takeout yesterday afternoon around 3:30 pm. Had to drive 30 minutes back home. The food was ready when we arrived to pick it up and packaged in nice plastic containers with a tied plastic bag around each to prevent any spilling. When we arrived home, the food was still warm-hot and absolutely delicious. Possibly the best Thai I've ever had. Got all the way home to discover that my Pad Thai was mostly a bunch of noodles and a few chicken pieces with one tiny wedge of lime. Hardly any sauce. No egg or veggies. Hardly any green onion. My Tom Kha had way too much oil, had no lemongrass, and it was mostly greasy broth with a few chunks of chicken in it. For this I paid $26 (tip included) I will say that the service was quick, but no wonder. There was no effort on part of the kitchen. I'm so happy to see that Swing thai is still around and as good as always! The Coconut Lemongrass Soup is amazing, my favorite!!! I eat a bowl there and get one to go for later that night. I can't get enough of those unique flavor profiles. I use to travel to Denver on business 10 years ago and this was always my go to place to eat. I wish they would open a location in Dallas, TX. Service is as always helpful and friendly. I love the bamboo throw back jungle motif, it makes the atmosphere and experience unique. Not just another cookie cutter chain restaurant. What a disappointment. I just paid 30$ for soup, noodles, and spring rolls. The 6$ Tom Yum soup just had a few raw tomatoes and mushrooms thrown in a bland broth.
