I stopped in here to make a deal. One glass of wine for use of the bathroom. They agreed, and when I saw the prices, I was pleased even more. They had a selection of nine wines by the glass, so I chose a red varietal I was not familiar with - Spanna, from Alto Piedmont. Not sure if it was a 5 or 6 ounce pour, but it was quite nice, only $12, and my server Brendan had described the wine well - similar to nebbiolo. There was an enticing list of nibbles; actually more substantive than that, but I wasn't hungry. Halfway through my glass, it turned 3pm, and happy hour started. My second glass (and there normally would be) was going to be reduced, and the falanghina beckoned. But I had a deadline, and had to leave. But first, I went out back to the restroom, and saw the members seating area outdoors. Very nice! I enjoyed speaking with Brendan very much, and the bottle selection included natural wines (not really my thing) and a wide range of prices. I saw the Frog's Leap on the shelf, and saw the price was not out of line with others I've bought. Eager to return and try the food!

Casual sandwich and wine spot in the heart of the Castro. Ample outdoor seating (pet friendly). Laid back SF vibe. QR code ordering for food. Purchase wine inside the shop.

Lovely place for a glass of wine, a salad, and people watching on a pretty day. Good outdoor seating with a mix of tables for 1-2 people and also a parklet with tables for up to six.

We had a really nice time at Swirl. Super friendly staff and a great selection of wine and spirits. Will def be coming back. They have a back patio but it's open for wine club members only.

Stumbled on this cute wine bar (also has beer) while strolling through the Castro. We were w my 15 week old puppy and to our delight- the outdoor Parklet (one of the nicest) had private little enclosed booths that allowed my puppy to safely nestle in. The wine option was great - and I'll definitely be back! With or without the pup!

While waiting for our tables across the street at Anchor Oyster Bar, we decided to grab some wine here to pass time. The three of us all decided to get the flight of 3. The three glasses of 3oz pours were pretty good pours and got me on a pretty good buzz afterwards. I opted for the wine flight ($16), which was refreshing and crisp. The flight deal was totally worth it and allowed us to get a little taste of everything. While the space is small, it was cozy and intimate. I also liked how easy it was to close out our tabs individually for a quick process. This was a nice stop before our dinner in the lovely Castro neighborhood.

Food - 5/5 Service - 1/5 (this applies to the system, not the actual server who was ok) Venue - 4/5 (very limited outside seating) Nice sandwich and wine, but the ordering system is cumbersome to the point we almost walked away. Why is it so hard to have a server take your order, bring your order, and take payment for your order? Sometimes logging into a website, entering all your info including credit card (again because it doesn't remember when you did it all 5 minutes ago), ordering then hoping it all worked ok isn't the easiest or enjoyable experience. Especially annoying if you want to add something to your order as you have to do it all over again. Having to go inside to pay for a Diet Coke because it can't be added to your bill, and is provided by 'someone else' is lame.

I called a couple of hours beforehand and made a same day reservation for three at 8 p.m. I was amazed they could get us in. The guy who answered the phone was so nice. We arrived right at 8 and were seated on the back patio. Our server took a little while to greet us, but by about 8:15 she showed up and we immediately ordered our salad and entrees. The heirloom tomato salad came out around 8:30 and was great in concept, though a few more pieces of cheese would have made a big difference. Our entrees, two salmon dishes and a medium-rare steak, came out around 9 p.m. We had waited a little too long, especially since the restaurant was not very full at that point. My steak was overdone, so as politely as possible, I sent it back. The server said it wouldn't take long, so I assumed 15 minutes at most. By 9:20, the steak still had not arrived and my family had finished eating. The server came by and said it would be out in another couple of minutes. Another 10 minutes passed, and there was still no steak and no sign of the server. At 9:30, I was so frustrated that I got up to cancel it. I found the server standing near the kitchen talking with other servers, while my steak was just sitting there in the service window. I'm sorry, but I did not come to a restaurant at 8 p.m. to eat my entree at 9:30 or later, after everyone else had already finished. What made it worse was that the server was not apologetic at all. We also ran out of water multiple times throughout the evening. Overall, it felt like the staff, other than the host, just didn't care. Neither the kitchen nor the server. I don't know if it's the no-tip model, but it definitely felt like an authentic European zero-customer-service type of experience. I'm really disappointed, Zazie. I know you can do better.

The Ice Cream Bar is popular, so prepare for a wait since they take the time and care to make your order. It's located on a nice block with street parking, but it's also a busy area in general and probably easier to walk to. They have menus and a small seating area outside. Inside is a great throwback to 30s/40s art decor style, with the main ice cream counter to the right and the actual bar at the back. They have different ice creams available by the scoop in a cold dish, or opt for a made-daily waffle cone. They have classic toppings as well. Once you order, you pay towards the back. The bar area itself offers alcohol, perfect for a Guinness float or to add a little something extra to a milkshake or sundae. Prices are reasonable for the quality. The servers were so welcoming and eager to please with special requests as well. If you're an ice cream fan, this one is worth coming to enjoy.

Upon looking at the menu I was "in" for the SF vibe of the food offerings. Below is what we ate and our rating of the food: Me - smoked salmon on toast w/ baby pickles, capers, and spread. Oh-em-gee-times-ten....I was either REALLY hungry or the dish was THAT good! (it was that good!). The serving was generous and satisfying and was accompanied with salad greens tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. I am salivating as I write this. Son - breakfast burrito. He liked it. It was simple: scrambled eggs, bacon in a spinach tortilla. His young age did not help his appreciation of a green tortilla, so.....he only ate half Daughter - granola, fruit, yogurt parfait. She demolished it and enjoyed every bite. And, even carried her leftovers with her (all day, might I add) and ate them for breakfast in the hotel the next morning. To supplement their meals I ordered a side of toast and roasted potatoes. We ate with gusto! My cappuccino (which I only seem to order when I'm in San Francisco) was delicious and gave me enough energy to walk those hills with ease. My party of four came without a reservation, so we were seated along the wall against a small countertop area. It wasn't the most comfortable setting for a group hangout. I'd recommend making a reservation in advance. Space is a bit small so seating is limited. Ambiance is a vibe though. Cute and chic little wine bar in a central location. Between the four of us, we ordered the bread/butter, ceviche, Dungeness crab garlic noodles, and the Wagyu dog to share. We also got a bottle of their Lambrusco. The stars of the show were definitely the wine and the garlic noodles. I wouldn't recommend sharing the Wagyu dog as it got a bit messy. Everything was definitely overpriced, and portions were small. We had to order takeout from another restaurant afterwards to satiate our hunger lol. I'm glad I tried this spot but would only recommend stopping by if you're not very hungry or are just looking for some small snacks before an actual dinner.
