Very satisfied with our experience at this black-owned establishment! We were fortunate enough to go during happy hour, so we had a chance to try a little bit of everything. The alligator dumplings were my personal favorite, and my husband loved the house burger (not pictured). The manager/owner and his wife were amazing hosts.. Great conversation and amazing ambiance. This place is definitely worth trying!

Swirl Wine Bistro - a Caribbean fusion eatery in West Broward Parking: Easy. It is in a strip mall setting. Drinks: They call themselves a wine bistro but their wine list is not large. We tried their Jamaican sorrel. It was very watered down and filled with ice. I'd also mention that it was very expensive in our opinion - $15!! And it didn't even have alcohol in it! Food: We went mainly to try their signature dish - the Oxtail Ravioli. It was very good with lots of meat inside and perfectly seasoned. My only complaint about it is that it was a tad salty for me. Our entire party ordered it as the entree so I can't comment on other main dishes. We also had the cheese platter and wild boar flatbread for appetizers and they were both pretty good. It was great to have the wild boar as that is not common here in South Florida. All of these dishes were severely overpriced. Service: the waitress was incredibly nice and very knowledgeable - well trained for sure. The place is a a small establishment. The owners are a husband/wife couple. Both seem to be pretty unfriendly as they didn't want to come over and say hi to our table (more on that below). The food came out quickly but we were a little disappointed that it didn't come out hot as we requested. Our raviolis came out room temperature, at best. Atmosphere/vibe: in the entire restaurant, there was only one other table occupied. This was 6pm on a Saturday evening. We have been once before and no other patrons were there. Not sure how they pay the bills - maybe through the catering arm of their business?! If you are looking for anything besides an empty restaurant (which does have its positives), you may want to go elsewhere. Since the restaurant was empty, the chef/owners could have come over to say hi. It is not as if they were incredibly busy... Age group: Not very young. Can't really say as no one was really there. Return: No due to overpricing. Also due to the fact that we like to dine at places that have other people in the restaurant

I've been long overdue for an updated review. We've been consistently visiting Swirl since 2022. With every visit, we've enjoyed it even more! We were thankfully able to visit multiple times before our recent cross country move. And I look forward to sneaking in a meal here on our Christmas trip back to the area. Chef Judith is an expert with pairing flavors, and you're almost guaranteed a flavor explosion or surprise with every visit. I feel like her magic is extra special with lobster too. Which is saying a lot because there are so many lobster dishes in South Florida. My favorite menu item here to date is the Duck & Lobster Mofongo. My husband almost always orders the short rib or rib roast, he's had a few variations and enjoyed them all! I'm beyond happy about the wine list and pairings they started launching last year, and consistently updating. Michael's nose and ability to recommend wines is top notch. I've discovered new favorites on the tasting flight. I'm super sad that I can't attend all the lovely events and tastings I see on Instagram, since I'm out of state now =(. The cherry on top here is the ambiance. It's not loud and raucous, even when there is a crowd the space handles it well. The music is typically calm and at a decent level. We truly appreciate being able to have a date night, and actually hear each other.

Yes please for the Lobster Mac and Cheese! This is a cute little spot located in a strip mall that is perfect for a date night, family dinner night or happy hour. The service was amazing and the wine was absolutely giving what it needed to give. The Oxtail Ravioli and the Seafood Risotto were honestly just ok. However, the Lobster Mac and Cheese was unforgettable. It was so rich, cheesy and yummy with every bite! ~ Definitely Dine, Drink Wine and Enjoy

My husband and I stopped in Swirl for a glass of wine and snack, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was empty on a rainy Friday afternoon, and we chose to sit at the bar as we were not having a full meal. Surprisingly, we ended up talking to the owner for two hours! I cannot say enough about how friendly and knowledgeable he is. I am studying for my sommelier certifications, and he was so helpful walking through their wine list with me. For our snack, we ordered the mushroom flatbread. This is not your regular plain ole mushroom flatbread. It was packed with flavor! The house made red pepper sauce is what really made it for me. His wife, the chef, even won an episode of Guy's Grocery Games! Of course, we were recommended the perfect wine pairing. If you love to support local business, please visit Swirl! The inside is fancy without being overbearing, and the walls are decorated with local art. We can't wait to go back!

What a pleasant surprise. A wine bar with a beautiful dining room and a great authentic menu. Well kind of a wine bar, but great wines, a bar to taste and a Great Chef who has created some amazing dishes. We were in the area stopped in after seeing some of our friends had checked in and were posting pictures on our Whats App talk thread. They were sitting at the bar drinking Tres Pico's, Grenache, a nice fruitful wine from Spain. We had not eaten so we all got a table for 4. Beautiful white table clothes and nice settings with our wine glasses ready to pour more of this great wine. We checked out the menu and could not believe the choices. Samual was our server and believe ran the dining room. He fit right in with our craziness. I was all excited to order the Oxtail Ravioli, something you do not see at a wine bar. My wife had a delicious Grilled Octopus which was done with a beautiful presentation. Also delicious. Our friends also ordered the Oxtail ravioli. What a light pasta with a delicious cream sauce and paired perfect with the wine. Speaking of wine, it was time for our second bottle of Tres Picos. What a chill evening in a very chiil small cozy restaurant bar. The walls were covered with beautiful abstract art dome by 4 different artists and all for sale. Some of these paintings are worth a look. Since this was an unplanned stop, we are coming back for more and experience some other wines and other great dishes. We had heard that the owner-sommelier does tastings and will certainly want to try that as well. Definitely a pleasant surprise.

Crème Brûlée

AMAZING food!!! The personalized service was great, and we enjoyed the ambiance. We had the whole snapper in a coconut & capers sauce, and the lamb shank. For dessert we ENJOYED the bread pudding and lemonchello crème brûlée. We will be back Chef Judith & Michael!!

This restaurant is super cozy and cute. Rotating art from wonderful artists but it is the chef that is the true artist! Her dishes are magic one after the next. The charcuterie and cheese plate had incredible options and was so thoughtfully put together. The mushroom risotto mmm mm, so so good. The pork belly and duck were easily some of top 5 I've ever had. Michael the husband and part owner with the wonderful chef waited on us. He was so lovely and coursed us out perfectly making for such a wonderful experience and evening. Talk about dynamic duo! This restaurant slid into one of my top three restaurants in all of Florida hands down.

Wine tasting here is awesome!

This place is so cozy and friendly. I came with a group for their wine tasting. We were taught about five wines and were presented with individual charcuterie boards. The staff really pays attention to detail. I really enjoyed my time here. I recommend to come to a tasting whether you're starting your wine journey or an expert. The Tastings include information for all levels of wine knowledge. The owner is very welcoming and extremely nice. He makes you feel right at home. The meals are exquisite. Every single thing you get is beyond expectation. They really push the boundary on taste and selection. I ordered the baked Brie as the appetizer and it blew my taste buds! And there was a truffle cheese as part of the charcuterie that I'm still thinking about the next day. The parking is free for the plaza which is a plus. I'll definitely return for more tastings.

I wish I learned of this place sooner! The food was absolutely spectacular. My friend and I came for appetizers and wine, so I did not try a main entree, but I certainly will next time! We had the poached pear salad with goat cheese and it was amazing. Everything on the charcuterie board was excellent. Truffle fries were delicious. We enjoyed the wine selection, also. Make sure you save room for dessert! I loved the space. It is small but the tables are not on top of one another. The service was excellent. I can not wait to go back.

A hidden gem in Marigate You walk into a beautifully decorated dining room where you are greeted by Mike the owner who is a wine expert. We have been in Swirl numerous times and each and every time we are astonished by quality of food and service We left the selection of the wine to Mike and he was spot on with two amazing glasses of wine My wife had a New York Riesling and I had a Chianti We started off sharing a poached pear salad, simply delicious. For the entree my wife had the lobster Mac and Cheese, creamy with huge pieces of lobster. I choose the Rack of Lamb which was accompanied by potatoes and carrots Both entrees were incredible For dessert we shared the signature Bread Pudding. It arrived warm with fruit and vanilla ice cream wihitch they make in the restaurant This was probably the best dessert I have ever tasted Swirl is the place to experience a superb meal! We intend On going back time and time again Thank you Mike and Chef Judith for helping us celebrate.

This place is ducked away on a random plaza next to a line dancing studio. The place is beautifully decorated with a intimate feeling. I was greeted immediately by one of the owners and schooled me one some local wine haha . The service is great. I originally went for the oxtail ravioli but they ran out. I was pretty disappointed but the menu still had some good choices Fish grouper - came out fast and tasted great. It came in 3 tray Egg plant flatbread - weirdly I'm not a fan of eggplants but this was my favorite dish . Everything on the flatbread blended perfectly together The Kobe beef with risotto- the Kobe was flavorful and cooked to perfection. To switched out the Polenta with Risotto and it was a great combo Bread pudding - a perfect ending to a delicious meal. I love bread pudding and this was did not disappoint. It was super sweet and everything complimented each other I would highly recommend this place

The ambiance of the place is lovely, decorated with string lighting that looks so gorgeous at night. The patio area is much bigger than I anticipated and even has some larger tables for any larger parties. We started off with an appetizer of the peach burrata, which was tasty! I would give it 4/5. We then got wine flights which I thought were such a great value for the price. You get 3 small sized wine glasses for $15 and get to sample three wines! Definitely recommend this 5/5. As entrees, we shared two entrees - the pesto pasta and the gnocchi which at the time was made with a pork type of sauce. Both were very delicious and we really enjoyed the flavors of both. The consistency of the gnocchi's sauce was a bit interesting, as it was all sort of blended together, but the flavor was very good! Would give them each 4/5. We ended the night with tiramisu - delicious and the presentation was very cute. I haven't had very much tiramisu to compare against, but I'll give it 5/5 as I really enjoyed it! As for service, our waitress was very attentive and nice but note that they can get busy on weekend evenings, so expect a little bit of a wait. Overall, I had a great time and enjoyed the food. My favorite part of the night were the ambiance and the wine flights. I hope to come back again soon!

John had a background in science education and started out brewing as a hobby. What turned into a passion became a business. Brewlihan Mead is the first commercial meadery in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Mead, sometimes called honey wine is an alcoholic beverage made from three ingredients: fermented honey, water and yeast. It is the first alcoholic beverage consumed by mankind and is believed to predate wine by nearly three thousand years. Since the taste of honey can vary by region, mead can have a diverse and complex flavor profile. To make the mead at Brewlihan, the water, yeast and honey is placed in fermentation tanks with fruit and then aged in oak barrels for 2 to 5 months. You can take your mead to go in cans or they have a nice bar inside the tap room where you can enjoy your drink. I took my mead home and while I enjoyed all of it, my favorite was Winter in So Fla which truly evoked the tropical feel of a winter in Florida. Mead is a great alone or as a pairing to a meal. If you are a mead enthusiast they have memberships for $300 with a host of benefits listed on their website.
