First of all there are no pics because we dug right in and it was amazing! The atmosphere is very relaxed, so be ready to unwind here. This is definitely a date night spot. Recommended and it did not disappoint. This is for those that want freshly cooked food with flavor. I had the jerk chicken which was delicious with flavor all the way through, not just the skin. Every bite was better than the last. The portions were more than enough. For dessert i had the Coconut bread pudding which was amazing and the presentation was 5 star! The colors of the interior of this bistro are relaxing and pop with design and an intriguing multi layered color palate, just like the wines. The Music is a blend of soft jazz and at a very comfortable volume level allowing for your table talk without having to raise your voice. (I don't enjoy anywhere on Clematis Street in West Palm where the theory is if its LOUD the food will taste better ... NOT) On to the foods... My wife and I shared a Wedge Salad which was a large portion of Baby bibb lettuce, perfect application of dressing and bits of blue cheese. We also shared the Oxtail Ravioli in brown butter sauce. Perfect al dente ravioli purses filled with moist and perfectly seasoned tender oxtail. Five raviolis that had to be cut in half and plenty to share. The owners, Mike and Chef Judy, were as hospitable as ever and the food was so delicious. Between the 3 of us, we had the fried soft shell crab, bruschetta (not your average bruschetta), red snapper, oxtail ravioli, and poached pear salad. It's really unusual for me to rave about a salad, but OMG! The combo of the perfectly poached sweet pears, the fresh and tangy goat cheese, crunchy candied pecans, greens, and homemade vinaigrette have me still thinking about it today. That's not to take away from how delicious all the items were though. The high quality ingredients and love that go into every dish will keep us coming back. Thank you! We shared several dishes and each one was more delicious than the last. The service from the owner was impeccable! The ambiance in the restaurant was representative of local artists and their work. Good things are worth fighting for. Swirl is tucked away in an older plaza that is currently going through major exterior renovations. There are challenges. There is currently no signage to speak of. Swirl has been forced to put up a temporary sign that's tough to see. Look at my Map Picture. (if I figure out how to post it .. LoL) You'll find Swirl. Plenty of parking, however, so that takes a little bit of the pressure off. You also would not expect to find a Bistro of this quality in a Non-Mizner, Non-Las Olas locale. Don't let looks deceive you by judging a book by its cover. Again .. persevere. Once you find it and walk inside, the adventure part ends and the Unbelievable Food & Wine Experience begins. It's cozy. Quaint. Mellow. Start by walking up to the bar and introducing yourself to Mike .. Owner, Bartender & Somm. The most personable, knowledgeable, hands-on biz owner I've ever encountered. Not a Wine Snob by any means. He simply really knows his craft. Personally, paying $9-$12 for a quality glass of wine that you would pay $20+ for on Las Olas is just fine with me. If you're looking to get stuffed on never-ending pasta dishes, then again .. not for you. But if you appreciate a Gourmet Food Tasting experience and understand what it takes to both procure, design and prepare such a meal .. then you have come to the right place. Their ingredients are hand-picked and always fresh because they don't over purchase. Their food pricing is what some would consider Moderate. I picked at Random this Cool Gem as I found it odd it had so many 5 star rating for our party of 4 I wax greeted by a rare site as we were sat at our table. Very Shiny polished Wine Glasses. Hmm, I was impressed. The Food was so tasty , we were so busy eating I only took two. From the Lamb Shank to Hogfish (all agreed ultra tasty) and light pork belly tacos the food was simply Amazing I later was able to meet the Chef and her Jamaican and French Culinary background are what makes this such a rare Gem. We came here for dinner. I called before to check their hours a man answered and said they were open until 11pm. We live close by so we walked over to try it out. We walked up and the owner (or possibly staff) from of the restaurant was speaking to another table and carrying on a conversation. We waited as this conversation continued. No one greeted us but after a long while I interrupted the man talking to the table and asked if we could sit. He was extremely disrespectful. There was zero hospitality. He said, "do you have reservations?" When I said no he rudely said, "then you are going to have to wait outside then for at least 15 minutes". He smugly looked away and continued to ignore us talking to the table outside. Next to them was an obvious empty table as were there several inside. From the sound his voice he was the man who answered my call. The person on the phone never mentioned a need for reservations. And, the restaurant was literally at less than 50% capacity. We waited another 15 minutes without another acknowledgement. from this man that was still talking to the outside table (maybe personal friends?). The entire experience was incredible. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant in my life. Not once were we asked our name, if it was our first time there, etc. I had convinced my husband to give this place a shot on our "date night" but after the poor treatment then the wait without any type of hospitality My husband became so agitated that he left and said he would never spend his money thetr. Unfortunately it was a terrible first impression. I was truly hoping to fund a neighborhood gem. But, as someone who worked in the restaurant industry for years, this is not how you should treat customers. Awesome experience dinning here last night. Our best friends recommended and they got it 100% right. The restaurant is located in a rather unknown strip mall in Coconut Creek. I lived there for 4 years and never entered the plaza until last night. We parked and before entering the local we hesitated and I am glad that we decided to walk in. The place inside was pretty cool, unique paintings and pictures hanged from the walls and they were really unique, beautiful work (they can be purchased). The place is put together with great taste and the ambience is perfect for a date with a friend or your love one. As he says "trust the fat guy, of eating and drinking I know what I say". We had a bottle of 2017 La Spinetta Moscato D'Asti that was amazing!!!!!!! We said that we liked sweet tasty wine with frutal flavors and he pulled the one that was just perfect for us. We tried the bruschetta....pause. When I say bruschetta please forget any you had before and tried this new original creation of a bruschetta....it was a flavorful powerful tasty version of it. Spectacular combination of white balsamic emulsion with and amazing combination of cherry tomatoes yellow and red, onions and greens with fresh mozzarella, once that combination got to the amazing bread....uffff Magic. We also tried the pork belly tacos and they were great, more than great, they were a beautiful bite. We shared a bit Ribeye steak that was perfectly cooked and tasted like heaven and we finished the night with an out of this world chocolate bread pudding. Overall a must go to place!!!! I found Swirl while looking for reservations for Valentine's Day dinner with my boyfriend. I saw the amazing reviews and all the delicious looking food pictures and decided to make a reservation. Now, the only reason I am giving this place less than 5 stars is because of the price and set menu. Nowhere did I see online that for Valentine's Day it would be a preset menu for $75 a person! I was extremely disappointed and caught off guard once my boyfriend and I walked in. I would have rather known this before making my reservation. (Apologies if I mistakenly missed this online) The place is super cute and located in an obscure plaza that you wouldn't really expect this restaurant to be in. It was very quiet inside, with only about 8-9 tables of two (at least for this night.) The vibe was super weird with almost no one talking. They were extremely short staffed, with no hostess, one server, and the chef. However, they did what they could, but our dinner took over 3 hours !!!! I think my boyfriend and I ran out of things to talk about at one point. LOL Thank goodness the food and wine were amazing otherwise I would have been very upset. Each course came with its own wine pairing, and they were all perfectly matched. We started off with a glass of champagne and a cute little cheese board. I ordered the salad as a starter and my boyfriend got the ceviche. Our main course was out of this world. The meat was so tender and juicy and cooked to perfection. The vegetables and potatoes really complimented the flavor as well. Dessert was creme brûlée, and it was delicious! Overall, interesting experience. Came to Swirl for a birthday dinner for a close friend. I chose this place from the recommendation of a friend that lives in the area and the main reason for going was that it was a high-end Jamaican restaurant experience. And it did not disappoint. It's small restaurant, maybe only room for a 10 to 15 people. The owners, husband and wife (chef), made our experience amazing. We ate several appetizers but not featured in the photos here because we devoured them. These were the best I could do for our main courses. The food was exceptional, flavorful, unique and reasonably priced. They had wine pairing options, go with the suggestions of the server l, they take pride in everything and they know what they're doing. Over priced, over salted with Small portions. We live close by and we were excited to try this "new" restaurant. When we arrived no one greeted us and we waited til the host at the bar calls us over to check his reservation list. We had to ask for a wine list and a menu. The Beef Carpaccio was fine. The fisherman's harvest was a small ramequin with 3 shrimp, potatoes and not much else, the sauce had too much salt which disguised the flavor of the fish. The Filet Mignon with Crab Oscar was tasty but the sauce was way over salted; inedible. The 2 different wines we chose were unavailable, but the host did suggest a fine sub for me and sample for my girlfriend. Which she chose. Service was slow, in fact, a table of 2 walked out after sitting outside for 15 mins., waiting for a table and then another 15 mins. inside waiting for a menu. Then another table of 4 experienced the same "attention" and left. A party of 5 arrived, was told to wait outside as they cleaned a table and when we left, 15 mins later, they were still outside. That's 11 dinners lost. Seriously???? They have been open for 4 years...how??? Swirl is practically in my backyard, so shamed to say it took so long, despite both Yelp and personal recommendations, to visit. But curiosity and a special occasion finally tipped the scales to explore. And while I was definitely overdue, the wait was more than worth it. To echo other reviewers: Swirl is small, and easy to miss -- it's directly to the right of the Goldcoast Ballroom. The dining configurations are eclectic but the decor is chic/casual in a personal manner. In fact, it's hard to omit the word "personal" from describing a visit, as the owner Michael both hosts and serves (and sommeliers), and his wife and co-owner Judith is chef. Michael is charming, attentive without hovering, personable from our entrance to our departure. It truly felt in many ways like visiting a friend's rec room-turned-bistro. All this pales in comparison to the food. Easily the best dining I've had this year or longer. Maybe best described as a European cuisine with some Caribbean accents, sharing is encouraged for Swirl's main eats, so our trio all sampled from three dishes. Each was better than the next: - A duck confit leg and thigh atop lovely grilled endive with a black cherry and balsamic dressing. I remember biting into the duck and saying it was probably the best I've had. - Oxtail ravioli in a truffle browned butter sauce. Rich and just amazing. - Kobe beef cheek on a polenta cake. The priciest item we ate, it was worth every penny. Succulent and tender. Every dish, every bite, showed real passion and talent from chef Judith. The wine suggested by Michael was also very good, and reasonable. I'd give Swirl six stars except for three reasons: (1) Some may find it pricier for the quantity of food; we left not stuffed but very satisfied. It's food best eaten slowly with each bite savored. (2) The smaller, personal feel and service is atypical from your usual dinner out. And, (3) Yelp only allows five stars. From the intimate art decor to a stunning gourmet menu to a warm and cozy feel! Great for a date or small intimate party which is what was going on that night.  Superb service and the menu switches up often. Oh and there's also a bar for the wine connoisseurs...Now on to the food! Whole Fried Snapper w/ Miso Dressing - This was a huge flavorful whole fish, lightly fried fish cut up into large chunks. The presentation was amazing and the miso sauce was a nice touch. Leek & Potato Mash - Soooo good! You can taste the leeks and velvety mashed potatoes.  Squid Ink Tortellini stuffed with Curried Crab in a Coconut Curry Bath - Looks amazing! Nice smooth coconut curry sauce however I visually saw the crab meat but I did not taste the crab meat. This dish needs a few tweeks imo but still good but no party in my mouth. A friendly vibe and energy. I went with friends to Swirl just the other day. I had heard of it and had planned to go sometime. So when some else recommended we all go, I was in. Things started a little rough, it's hard to find. I drove up and down the strip mall parking lot but there was no signage. but I did find the address, numerically based, on other addresses. As I popped in I took in the chill vibe. It was a lounge type thing with some good jazzy music going and a gal and the counter. The walls had someones painting up that were interesting. They all had a similar style to them that was cheerful. I was the only one there, I had beaten my group to the place. I had no shyness though, I pulled up a stool and asked about trying some wines. It wasn't that kind of place though. Only a few bottles were open or allowed to be open. I think it was maybe 5 different varieties of red that could be tried. And of those 5 there wasn't what I personally would look for in basic entry red wines. The gal there was nice and did pour 3 kinds to check from. When my friends arrived they also tried my same 3 glasses to decide what they liked. we all settled on a Spanish wine and I believe a malbec or blend. It was fine enough. I didn't get a chance to try the food although I had heard good things. I hope to be back and hopefully write a updated review for the food. We were the only ones there and had the luxury of talking to the chef, Judith Able, and her husband about the restaurant, the food, the wine, the events and the art work. Everyone has a hard time finding Swirl. It is located next to Gulf Coast Ballroom, the plaza north of the first light north of Cypress Creek and Lyons. Its north of the Publix Plaza. Food: All organic, free-range, small but filling plates (made for sharing), unique and original dishes. They host beer and appetizer pairings, wine and appetizer tastings, art events and allow local artists to showcase their artwork for 90 days for a small percentage of the selling price. They serve wine and beer (collaborated with the local breweries). Swirl is a very small restaurant, quaint and romantic. They do not rush their customers, rather they let them enjoy the dining experience. They focus on the quality of the food. Each dish is between 10-20, a few of them are over $20. I have to say the taste is impeccable. I highly suggest to try both desserts (bread pudding and a banana bread pudding). The owners of Swirl are proud of their community with this touch. My wife and I were invited to this restaurant with her co-workers. If this invitation did not happen, I would have never found this gem. Upon entering the restaurant, Mike, the owner, made us feel welcomed with his warm and relaxed demeanor. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth-watering starters followed by the main course, specially designed for all. We all started with a delicious and fresh salad. For my entree, I had rib eye steak with a couscous salad. Others at the table had Chicken Wellington, and salmon. My wife's co-worker, who is a vegan, had plenty to choose from as well. It was all followed by savory creme brûlée with fresh berries for dessert. All the meals were appetizing and flavorsome. This is my third time enjoying a meal at this place, and my experience continues to be outstanding. The combination of European culinary arts with Caribbean flavors makes this by far my favorite restaurant in the Coral Springs area. My father, his gf, and I started with a baked brie cheese with warm baguette and fruits, which was very good. The pepper/guava filling of the cheese gave it a very unique sweet & zesty flavor. My father's main dish was the oxtail ravioli in truffle brown butter sauce; this is a tried and true dish here, and it's delightful for those who enjoy strong savory dishes. My father's gf had the jerk chicken w/ fingerling/blue potatoes & guava emulsion; this dish caught us off guard with how good it was; this one is for those who enjoy sweet & spicy. I had the seared duck breast w/ pumpkin risotto; this dish was excellent. The duck was cooked medium but evenly, packing a lot of moderate savory flavor. The risotto was a the perfect balance. All of us loved our dishes. The ambiance is quiet, nice, and cozy. The service was great. If possible, take the time to chat with the owner for a bit; he is really nice and very into culinary art. Europe meets the Caribbean at this corner tucked gem in an unassuming strip mall of Coconut Creek. We wouldn't have stumbled across this place had we not been looking for it so I'm so glad we were. It's cozy and romantic inside with a couple tables, a couple couches, bar seating, eclectic art and great music. Mike and Judith are the owners. Mike runs the front of the house and Judith is the chef. There was also a lovely young woman waiting on us when we weren't chatting with Mike but I didn't catch her name, she was wonderful. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by Mike and seated (reservation for 5). We started with a perfect bottle of Pinot Noir and a charcuterie platter which, despite its beauty, I carelessly did not think to take a picture of until we'd scraped all of its said beauty away into our faces. Alas, it was a nice mix of meats, cheeses, fruits and spreads (and a good size to boot). We then all shared the buffalo mozzarella, pork belly tacos and oxtail ravioli. The buffalo mozzarella was amazing and topped with balsamic vinegar caviar which was so fun, accompanied by truffle marinated heirloom tomatoes. The pork belly tacos were cooked to perfection and topped with braised red cabbage and apple slaw. It was hard for me to choose a favorite but the table as a whole really loved the oxtail ravioli. If you don't soak the toasted bread in the accompanying brown butter sauce of this dish, you're wrong. If there are a limited number of things you absolutely must do in Coconut Creek Fl, including breathing. Make this the second thing on your list. As other yelpers have mentioned, this wine bar is tucked away in a strip mall. Do not let this deter you. Ample easy parking and a variety of seating arrangements convinced me next time I'm in town that I'll eat in and not get take-out. Inviting couches and loveseats around intimate tables and the wine bar just make the atmosphere so cozy, and mingley-like. And I hate mingling so you know this must be pretty doggone good. I had the oxtail ravioli and ordered a side salad off-menu. The ravioli is tangy and rich with melt-in your mouth oxtail filling. I understand completely why some many others have about it. It doesn't just live up to the hype. It transcends it. The salad the chef put together for me was a respectable portion of fresh items (including olives arugula, tender asparagus and heirloom tomatoes and shaved hard cheese, to name a few). She picked items that complimented the ravioli well. Every component of this meal was thoughtful. The chef is absolutely a thoughtful person because this meal isn't just a simply fresh ingredients on a plate. There is depth and a vision. Something you don't see done with such curatorship. I know my review does not do this place justice because it really only gives a small and simple view of things, but for what it's worth, in short I am completely blown away.
