Also I had low expectations because I'm from the city so the halal options there are vast. However, when I came in everyone was so nice and interactive. Our first time here for pickup and we were impressed. Friendly staff, giant portions of food, and reasonable prices. We got two platters and two orders of baklava for under $30. We opted for the combo platter served on salad. There were two dipping sauces on the side, one cool and one spicy. Both the chicken and the gyro meat were chopped as opposed to strips, but flavorful and tender. I expected both to be dry, but not at all. The pita was cut into small strips, which was great as well. Next time I will get a side of hummus. The baklava was excellent with a lot of cinnamon on the palate. We will be back! read more

One of the best gyro places that I have visited in a while! This place is located inside a grocery store so don't get confused if you can't find it. There are signs outside pointing to go in and it's on the left as you enter. I got the chicken gyro wrap with a side of fries and 6 of the signature wings. The wrap was a bit on the dry side but the flavors from the chicken and the sauce were amazing! I definitely recommend getting a side of the white sauce in case the wrap is dry. The fries were also very good and fresh as they just fried it once I ordered. But the wings stole the show. I haven't been to all the gyro places in Syracuse but of the ones I've tried, Syracuse Halal Gyro stands out. I've had the lamb platter twice now. The portion size is large and provides excellent value for the price. The quality and flavor of the meat is also good. The default amount of white and red sauce is excellent. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal that evoked feelings of NYC. Also, the service is great. I think that most gyros, while simple, are above average dishes at least in NYC. For $35.00 we got a lamb gyro, chicken plate, six wings, two sides of falafel, and a side of hummus. We ordered the gyro and plate extra hot with red and white sauce. Both the chicken and the lamb were cooked and seasoned to perfection. I loved the red and the white sauce, and would order extra on my next order. Greek food was my gateway into Mediterranean cuisine, and this was my first Halal experience. My takeaway was that the white sauce isn't tzatziki - it's a lot more flavorful and just as cool. The red and white sauces are available by the bottle at $5.00 a piece. The falafel was perfectly crispy on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside. We did two side orders at $1.50 a piece, and I'd definitely come back just for this. The hummus was just hummus. A great addition to the meal, but nothing different from any other place. Since we were trying the place, we threw in a six piece order of wings with their signature sauce. They were perfect in size and cooked perfectly crispy. I used to go to Brooklyn for amazing Halal food trucks with my cousin and these guys are just that good.
