Ambiance- eh, Food- Good, Syrup- Awesome. I'm always looking for a good breakfast joint (because I won't wait in the line at Snooze) so we went to Syrup this morning. Around 10:15 on a Friday morning the place went from dead to packed so yeah the service was a little on the slow side but clearly there's an audience for this place. The all green decor is a little awkward or as my fellow diner said "feels like an old folks home cafeteria". I'm normally an omelet girl but in this case if the place is named syrup, I go for the mini waffles stack which comes with three types of syrup. For the pancakes or waffles flights you can choose from a list of 8 or so syrups; I picked strawberry, butterscotch and maple vanilla. I know some serious maple syrup fans and I think they would approve. The butterscotch is awesome. Yeah the ambiance lacks compared to the other more unique places in town but the food is good. So depends what you're looking for. Also, keep in mind it is the only breakfast place I can think of that is near shopping. Come time for Christmas shopping I think you'll find me there carbing up. read more

Meh. Went to Syrup for brunch today for the first time and wasn't impressed. Hubby and I both got benedicts. Mine (California) was fine - not bad, not memorable. Fresh fruit side was a big pile of cantaloupe... which again... isn't bad... but you hope for better. Hubby's benedict (Wisconsin) was greasy and eggs were overcooked, negating the delicious runny yolk that makes a benedict so delightful. Orange juice wasn't even close to fresh squeezed. Coffee was average. Meh. Biggest drawback of all, however, was the noise level. We were literally shouting at each other in order to have a conversation. Not exactly relaxing on a Saturday morning. To be fair, we didn't order anything syrup-related. And we only waited about 10 min, which for Denver brunch spots, is pretty good. But between the average food and super-loud atmosphere, we won't be back. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed brunch at Syrup. It's small, cute and quaint. The service was great and I had an awesome veggie egg white omelet. Parking can be a hassle and there may be a bit of a wait but I will definitely add this restaurant to my weekend rotation! read more

So good! The inside of the restaurant is welcoming bright, welcoming, and warm. Our server was very attentive and on top of things. Santa Fe eggs benedict were amazing - the chorizo was very flavorful and there was plenty of it. I would definitely order it again. Took my mom here for Mother's Day, and we had a terribly unfortunate experience. When we received our drink order, my mimosa carafe came without a glass. Asked for a glass and never came so I had to go to the front hostess to request one. When I finally got to pour my mimosa, there were floating particles (not pulp, red and black dots and something that looked like part of a fingernail). Not to mention the champagne was definitely wine, and not sparkling. Ordered beignets, however my mom's somehow had a dark hair in the bottom side of it. (She has almost white hair.) Her plate and fork were taken away, and when asked for another, I eventually had to get it myself as well. I don't know what's going on with this place. If this is just a bad day or if this is a common thing. Told the manager, and her excuse was that their short-handed and "trying." Sanitation, or lack there of, has nothing to do with being short-staffed. read more

One word describes the atmosphere and the food- YUMMY! So good. I could not decide on breakfast or lunch, sweet or savory. Our waitress recommended The Wynston Maple Drive. It was delicious. Nearly everything was awesome...except the Hash Brown Potatoes (see below) Service - 5 stars The server was helpful with suggestions as well as timely and attentive with many refills of coffee and water. He also very kindly got us a small taste (vs. a side order) of the Corned Beef Hash. Corned Beef Hash - 4.5 stars Amazing! Would order it again in a heartbeat, either on it's own or as filling for an Brooklyn Omelet. My only niggle is that it's not technically "Hash" in my mind as it was not chopped. The corned beef was shredded and the potatoes were in larger than hash cubes. But, it really tasted great! French Toast Bananas Foster - 5 stars Superb! Recommended by our server.... And yes, just as Carolyn H. Yelped, "Warm, sugary, buttery, banana goodness!" There were three large slices of French Bread, which looked like three giant baguette slices. The bread was light an fluffy. The homemade maple vanilla syrup was very good, although a touch thick (especially as it cooled.) But, the bananas were to die for. The portion was large enough for two. Jan Omelet - 4 stars A good omelet. The eggs were fluffy and the filling was plentiful with very good flavor. Again, another large portion, which we were unable to finish. Hash Brown Potatoes - 1 star The only exception to this great meal was the hash brown potatoes which had some really awful "fake butter" flavor. Yuck ;-( Buckwheat Pancakes Apple Pancakes - 4 stars The pancakes were a bit heavy, but the combination with the sour apple syrup was quite good. They could have used a bit more apple slices on top. We couldn't finish this dish either. While the ambiance and basic green & white decor was not inspiring, there was plenty of natural light and the place was clean and bright. We would go back again for the food and look forward to trying the other items on the menu. read more

My life has been changed by this breakfast. The Kitchen Sink and The Remedy are two of the best breakfast combinations I've ever tasted. The service is also great, my water was empty. Not only is the food hands down the best I've ever had, but the prices are completely reasonable. read more

Posting this review for my dad (he does not have a smart phone)....He had a very bad experience at this restaurant this morning.....He ordered the buttermilk pancakes and said they were tough to cut and chewy. He called the manager over to tell her that and she asked if he wanted something else instead and my dad commented to her that the prices were very high for their food, and instead of offering him something else at no charge, the manager just said "ok" and walked away..... He also had a hard time getting any service.....he finally waved down a waitress and asked for some more decaf coffee....her response "we ran out of decaf." Really? It was 10:30 am on a Friday morning.....They ran out of decaf coffee???? What breakfast place does that? My dad said he will never go back again.....Maybe they are not known for pancakes, but what place can't make a light and fluffy pancake with little to no effort? It's official, I will never [TRY TO] eat here again. We live down the street from here and love the food, HOWEVER it's nearly impossible to actually order the food. Before the pandemic, anytime we tried to order take out from here we've been told 1) we only take pick up orders on the weekend before 7-8am (ok.. fine..), 2) we're too busy to take your order (the hostess quite rudely told me, but are welcome to wait outside for an hour for a table). But either way, we kept trying to go back and order out because we do love the food. Today was kind of the last straw, it seems they've taken their phone off the hook to ignore any possibility of a take out order. Their beignets are wonderful and fresh, the syrup that comes with it is perfect. I love benedicts so I had to get the cherry creeker. The eggs were perfectly poached and the corned beef was outstanding. The tater tot hash was a really nice touch. This location is a little hidden, but is my go-to weekday breakfast spot. There's something for everyone here when you're doing breakfast. Staff is wonderfully nice and keeps the coffee flowing. Absolute nightmare.  First time to Syrup and last for us unfortunately.  The coffee was weak (watery).  The "crack" bacon was burnt and stringy.  The eggs Benedict was flavorless, with strange rubbery eggs and basic hashbrowns that were not seasoned but "smashed" for whatever reason??  The cappuccino was served to me in a dirty mug.   We were very honest and upfront about out complaints and were presented with coupons that weren't even enticing enough for us to ever return.  How something like this exists in Cherry Creek will forever be a mystery to us read more

I was pleasantly surprised with my first experience at Syrup and would definitely come back again. My first impression was great, because even though there was a wait, Syrup has a big bowl filled with coffee cake to tide you over while you wait, which is perfect, because sometimes in the morning, you need to eat. RIGHT. NOW. I ordered the Wynston Maple Drive sandwich and it was SO delicious. I had originally planned to stick to my diet and just eat half, but after taking the first few bites, that plan quickly was disbanded. The french toast was very nicely cooked, and I was very impressed that the sandwich didn't become too soggy despite the french toast being overloaded with meat and cheese. I would definitely order it again. The ambiance is very pleasant with modern yet homey decor. My only complaint is that it did take longer than average to get our food. I understand we were there on a Saturday morning at the prime brunch hour, but we waited at least 30 minutes for our food after ordering and the wait staff didn't seem to be super attentive. I will definitely return to Syrup in the future, and even though my friends were impressed with their orders as well (pancakes and the Julian sandwich) I would have a hard time not ordering the Wynston Maple Drive sandwich for a second go 'round. read more

Thisngs started a little shakey. I mean the wait was only 20 minutes, which is awesome! But when I was sat and I asked about juice options, I was told they don't fresh squeeze. That's a bummer. Moving on... I ordered the "cherry creeker" which is a housemade corned beef hash benedict. It was phenomenal. I'm a corned beef hash snob and this was the best I've ever had. With a name like "syrup," you'd think they'd specialize in sweet breakfast foods. And that's what they want you to think with their beignets, variety of pancakes, and selection of syrups. To be fair, all of that is very, very good. But do not be deceived. Skip all of that (unless you're really hungry, or have someone to split it with), and order the breakfast burrito. This place was a head scratcher for me. Located in an area that is apparent and not hurting for money I assumed that the highest rated breakfast spot in the area would be a slam dunk for a Sunday morning brunch. We walked in to a half filled restaurant and were promptly greeted by two very nice hostesses. The decor is very pleasant in a neo-rustic sort of way. We sat and waited. And waited. Our 20-something waitress sauntered up with a "hey." We ordered a couple of coffees that were delivered with the spoon in the coffee, which I found odd. We placed our order with the disinterested hipster. When the beignets arrived, we were delighted. They were light, golden, crispy and were accompanied by two stellar syrups (buttermilk and vanilla). The entrées arrived and that is where the accolades end. My wife's entrée of an egg sandwich was complimented only in that the gluten-free English muffin was awesome. I ordered the "Cherry Creeker" which is supposed to be a signature dish. The signature must've been forged because the corned beef was dry; the eggs overcooked; the sauce made too thick; the potatoes mushy. Simply put: it just wasn't very good. We would have politely shared this with the server had she EVER stopped by after delivering our food. I flagged her down for our first refill of coffee after we had finished our entire meal and actually received a little look. So I asked for the check with it and ended up over-tipping because we just wanted to leave and didn't want to wait for change. My quicky review: no wait time, kind of hidden hard to see, great service, and best corn beef hash ever! I had a hard time finding parking but here we are looking for a brunch spot near he mall. Prices are around the range $10-$15 roughly average for the brunch spots I've been too. The Beignets were good but not the best I ever had, the texture wasn't as crispy like authentic Beignets I've had in the past. Our waiter was very attentive and even went out of his way to box our food. The sound level in this place on a 1-10 scale I would give it a 9 the whole time I had to shout. Don't go here. I've been working in restaurants for years and I've never had to wait for 20 min while tables are open because the hostess doesn't understand how to fill tables rather than seat her customers according to when they come in. When you have two tops, you seat them. Two tops shouldn't have to wait for you to seat parties of 5-8 that take more time. read more

Really dissatisfied with everything here. The interior decor is nice and the booths are very comfortable but aside from that, it's all wrong. The bathrooms are gross (toilet appears dirty from age and is made for children or much shorter than average people), the food was cold, the tots (strange in general) were soggy and did not taste good, the eggs were poorly cooked, the sausage had a cheap maple flavor and was also cold. I tried Syrup this morning for breakfast with a friend. It is a GREAT option for Gluten Free peeps, as they have tons of GF options. The decor inside is very light and appealing. I'm not a huge pancake/french toast person in the morning, so I opted for an omelet. Simple tomato and spinach omelet with hash browns. The omelet was pretty good, and there was a good amount of tomatoes and spinach used. Taste was good for omelet and has browns, but it was nothing extra ordinary. Service was good, but I felt things were over priced for the food. Their specialty in pancakes may be worth it, but I was a little surprised at the high cost for breakfast menu. We like syrup for family brunch on Sundays. I wish they weren't down the stairs ( which sucks for our stroller) but otherwise the atmosphere is good, the food is delicious. I usually get something benedict and they have all been good. They also have gluten free pancakes which are pretty good- nice light and fluffy. They also have gluten free muffins which is great. They are great with kids and just laugh as my daughter throws thing on the floor and pleasantly pick up her napkin for the 100th time. My second time - can't explain why I came back. The service was slow even though it was mid-day and not particularly busy. My eggs over medium were hard as a tock - speaking of rocks I attempted to eat the biscuits.... On my first visit I had poached eggs - I know better to trust a breakfast place that uses cheater cups to cook poached eggs. Flavor was a missing ingredient with both visits. Those of us old enough or here in Denver long enough remember when this space was housed by a legitimately fine breakfast place called The Egg Shell (the original one. ) Syrup doesn't hold a candle or better yet a poached egg to the old Egg Shell. read more
