This was my first meal upon arriving in Denver. We had just checked into our hotel and were in need of some good ole fashioned breakfast! This popped up and it was near our hotel so we headed straight here. It was an interesting location in that it was located in a building or mall of some kind (which was otherwise dead) but the restaurant, food, and staff were all great. Even though it was very busy, we got seated right away and the service was fantastic! Coffee was poured immediately and our orders were taken as soon as we were ready. Our food didn't take long at all to arrive and it was exactly what we needed. The food won't blow your socks off but when one is in the mood for some good ole fashioned American breakfast, this place will surely NOT disappoint! My partner and I were in the mood for a late brunch so we were happy to find Syrup was pretty close to our hotel. We put our name on the list and it only took us about fifteen minutes before we were given a table. As a starter for the table you have to order their signature bacon glazed with sugar and their 3 little pigs in a blanket. The little pigs are sausage stuffed dollar pancakes. Just wrapped up our meal here & had a great experience. The entire staff was super friendly & efficient, despite a little hiccup with their computer system this morning that delayed seating. Our server, Jennifer, was absolutely outstanding. Knowledgeable, patient, warm, quick & helpful. Service 5/5 The food was good! 4/5 I had the Mile High Tower, which was unique & tasty. The scrambled eggs in it were a smidge over cooked, but the dish was flavorful & definitely a filling, generous portion. My one piece of advice would be to add some color to it with green onions or just a little spinach or something to make it more aesthetically pleasing! My boyfriend had the Cherry Creeker, which first came out cold so we sent it back. This was done without hesitation & we didn't feel like we inconvenienced the staff by doing so (which is rare!) It was a little better the second time, but the hollandaise & poached eggs were still cool. He still really enjoyed it & devoured the whole plate. Overall we had a great experience! I went here for breakfast from a recommendation from a friend of mine. I ordered a veggie omelet with cheddar cheese with fresh fruit. The breakfast was ok. Service was nice though. As far as eggs cooked it felt a little over. The fruit while fresh was just a cup of fruit. The assortment was the typical grapes, honeydew, and cantaloupe. I walked a mile to get here based on the yelp reviews and was met with negative after negative events. First off, the air outside the shop smelled like hot urine baking in the sun...it was nauseating (which I understand is no fault to the shop), It was 8:30am and there were over 10 groups of people waiting for a table, so I assumed, "man, this place must be delicious!" The host immediately told me the wait was over an hour. After walking 20min to find this place I was starving and thirsty, but tired so I opted to wait. The next couple showed up and was told the same wait time but they were offered to sit at the bar as first come first serve. I was like, "i wasn't offered that option and I'm a party of 1." So I asked and the host said yes, if u can find a seat, you can take it. But of course there was none because the couple after me had already claimed the 2 empty seats that I didn't know I could occupy. That annoyed me so I asked to place an order for take out. The host directed me to the bar and the waitress kept taking people's drink orders/refills while ignoring me. When I finally got to order she said it would be out in about 20-30min. I waited and waited and waited and no one ever called my name. So I asked the host to check on my order and he pointed to a table full of to-go orders. I sifted through and found mine. I was mad by that point because it had now been an hour since I arrived and no one ever called my order. My food was cold before I even left the restaurant. I walked y to my hotel, zapped my cold food in the microwave just to find out I had no utensils. So I then had to go to the hotel bar and get utensils from them so I could re-zap my food and eat it in pure frustration. I'll never go back there after having such terrible service. read more
