Great experience thus far on our small-ish backyard overhaul. Great help from our designer, Beth, to craft a design that met our budget expectations while preserving elements of our backyard that we did not want changed. Incredibly overpriced!! Received a quote from System Pavers for approximately $70,000 to do paver driveway and patio in our California home. It was our first bid for our project and thought that was outrageous. Our instinct was correct. As a savvy consumer, I got 4 other bids for identical work. All around the same price of $35,000. System Pavers price was literally double the other bids. My front and backyard are gorgeous, I won't write who did the work here, but do yourself a favor and get other bids for your project! read more

Ben Bittner was friendly and helpful even after they had done a fantastic job installing my new pavers. They look great btw. Really cleaned up the place. The old driveway was cracked and weeds were poking through and no matter how gorgeous the house was, the driveway just made it look shabby. I was expecting the pavers to look good, but I was really surprised at just how much better it looked with the new pavers. And the installation was surprisingly fast. The guys pulled up the old driveway and got right to work and even included the conduit for installing irrigation later. I hadn't thought of that and was gratefull they had. When they claim the pavers can withstand heavy traffic, they mean it. I had a Bobcat in the backyard and an incredibly heavy, thick steel trailer. The trailer alone must've weighed at least a ton. And then the Bobcat on top of that? 3,500lbs is probably a conservative estimate. Not a dent, not a ripple, not a crack in the pavers. You'd never know heavy machinery rolled down my driveway. So it was really disappointing when a tenant repeatedly parked his leaky truck in my driveway. The place was looking shabby again. But Ben was able to fix that quickly, easily, and cheerfully. I had to make repairs to my home because of water damage. Sad story is that my contractor died suddenly towards the end of the repairs so I had to look elsewhere to finish up. I had heard System Pavers' radio ad and thought I should contact a company that wasn't going to be shutting down because of a death. Morbid, yes, but that is what led me to contact System Pavers. I was able to meet with Scott in sales within a few days of contacting System Pavers. I told him my sad story, and my Plan A which was to stay within my budget and do the minimum paver work to finish up the water damage project, or Plan B which was to go for it and do a much more extensive paver project. After talking with Scott, seeing the designs for Plan A and Plan B, I took the leap and went with Plan B. My only conditions were that I needed to be able to secure financing since I was over my budget and that the work had to be done before July 4th. I was able to secure financing and the work started the following week. Kevin was the project manager. He was wonderful and kept me informed of every detail. I knew what to expect from start to finish, and he would send me photos on the days that I traveled for work so that I could see the progress. Kevin was very personable and patient and put up with my constant texting and design change ideas that would come to me suddenly. He was able to explain the pros and cons of changes, make suggestions, and quickly swap material when necessary. Julio, the foreman, and his crew were also wonderful. I was told that the project would start on a Monday and finish by Saturday, and he was able to keep the project on schedule, even with the changes that were made to the design. They are skilled craftsmen, they cleaned up every evening, were polite to my family, and stayed on task to complete the project timely. My yard looks amazing and I'm quite sure that I have the best looking house on the block! I am so happy every time I walk out my front door and step into my beautiful WOW yard and have received numerous compliments. The people who installed our artificial grass did a terrible job. They used recycled or left over materials. We had to have them come out to make repairs and they still used old materials and did the bare minimum. We asked them to cap our existing sprinklers and found they didn't do that. The foreman barely showed interest and was sub-standard. They require multiple calls for follow. I assumed that the brand "system pavers" meant something. Don't make the same mistake I did. We had a great experience from the very beginning. We had Toren B. as our design consultant and Lester Y. as our project manager. When I first filled out the inquiry form, I was a bit nervous because I knew how agressive how some sales teams can be. We tend to take a lot of time to think things through for big ticket items like this, and at no point in any part of the transaction did Toren ever put any pressure on us to buy. He was extremely patient and very helpful throughout the whole process. Toren would drive from Union City all the way down to Morgan Hill just to check in on us and see how the project was going. One night, we decided to stop by the design center to look at some of the materials, but ended up getting caught in really bad traffic, so we were 45 minutes late. Toren graciously waited for us and spent another hour and half going through different design and material options. Keep in mind that we had a pretty small project (Approximately 400 sq ft). Lester and his crew also did a great job with the project. Lester was very easy to get a hold of whenever we had questions or issues. Very pleasant and knowledgeable guy. During the project, we had an issue arise (I won't get into details) so I texted him about it. He responded within half an hour and was working on it the very next day. We love our new patio and would most definitely recommend system pavers to our friends, family and neighbors. We plan on installing a pergola next year-- we'll definitely be going back to System Pavers for that. I would give Toren, Lester and his crew a solid 5. read more

If you ever want to do your yard project, never ever do it with #SystemPavers. Specifically, if you are in San Jose area run away, if you see name Lester Yue. Examples of things they do: - Install wrong color pavers and ignore your complaints about it - build a step from different color stones, than try to persuade you that grey is actually red, you just don't see it. When asked to rebuild the step, tell you they will charge you extra - build a rectangular planter, when one side is 1.5 inch longer than another and then tell you that gaps between stones happened because natural stone can't connect without gaps. Just to make it better, they did not attached lid to the sitting wall, it just came off when we touched it.... - charge you $1800 for 1 ton of pebbles that costs $500, stating that they will need to "install" them I think you see my point. don't give them business, avoid those crooks at any cost. Learn from my mistakes:( I had good experience with their sales. However, there is no communication between sales and people doing actual construction. Once you are under the contract, expect the worse. The only thing they will remember to ask you is to give them maximum number of stars on the survey. read more

She finally Came out and we talked about what we wanted and came up with a plan for our backyard.Well we scheduled another appointment so she can show us a 3D rendering of what our backyard could potentially look like.Well that day never came.She completely blew us off didn't answer any calls or messages sent to her!! This was an amazing experience! We gave them a challenge of two types of areas and making it work. Not only that there were three owners to work with we had artistic ideas and stayed very involved. It was done faster than expected and it is beautiful. The team was Construction Manager Alex, Project Manager Elliot, Design Team George, Construction Coordinator Jessica and finally my real hero crew leader Jesus/Jose. Jesus/Jose always looked out for things that would make our project better and made great suggestions. The crew was efficient and always made any changes we requested without a comment - including taking out a row of a circle already laid out. Jesus/Jose also took on our artistic challenge of blending a formal and less formal walkway that met in corner. He hand cut tiles/stones and made it look the two walkway had "smashed into each other" with same pieces going one way and some going the other. System Pavers is a large company doing business mainly in California and a couple of other western states. Whereas they generally get positive reviews, our experience with the company was disappointing in three respects: 1. the salesperson misrepresented the company's business model by saying that the company does not use subcontracts. The company DOES use subcontractors in installing pavers. 2. the subcontractor that installed the pavers on our project was low caliber in work and in customer service. 3. It took us calling the company management many times to coordinate many aspects of the projects to get a somewhat acceptable result. Since Paver Systems uses subcontractors in pavers projects, prospective customers with a bit of scrutiny can mostly like find pavers contractors directly and pay less. We had 3 projects in succession, a new roof, a new garage door in addition to a new driveway. The first two contractors offered far better customer service than Paver System that used subcontractors to install pavers for the new driveway. Caveat emptor. We feel we were taken. read more

First of all I have say that these people are expensive. More than our budget. But we had particular patio needs...tearing out the tile, then the concrete underneath that and then the tree roots underneath that! I know they are known for their meticulous work so we decided to bite the bullet and go with them. And they delivered! Chris was our designer. Rio was our project manager and was there at least once and often twice a day. Miguel and Michael were our demolition and installation team. They are fast, neat and tidy. No questions from us are too small to ask throughout the job. We opted for walkway lights flush with the pavers. Fantastic! In spite of a few rainy days, they finished on time. There is a senior discount so ask for it if you qualify. Chris worked with us to get us the best price. They dropped off a porta potty for their work team. That said a lot about how they take care of their workers. We kept all the leftover pavers. I told them they charge Neiman Marcus prices and we expected N-M product and service. And we got it! We replaced existing landscape with pavers and sod in the backyard. This was done in Feb 2021. Chris Rocha (project Manager) did a awesome job. He is very professional and knowledgeable. He is very friendly and gave us very good suggestions and ideas. Chris used to visit our site everyday to make sure the job is carried out with quality and on time. Let me tell ya...Our journey with System Pavers has been a very long one!! However, Javier Rodriguez came through for us big time!! Our Pavers were installed years ago, but because of a foundation issue with the house, the pavers on the walkway gate side had to be removed. We had to wait a full year before replacing them (so the foundation could settle) and Javier was able to come through and FINALLY get them replaced! And when I threw a wrench into the works by asking him to lift a huge divot that has formed in the middle.of our patio, he didn't even flinch.
