They have a delightful mustard to go with it. We had the dumplings last time, very good, but I wish they had more varieties of dumplings. My wife and I (along with our 2 children, ages 4 and 2) visited this restaurant on a Thursday lunch late in August after school had started. We were very quickly seated. The restaurant was well lit and very clean. The hostess and waiters were extremely kind, even with our very tired and sorta rambunctious children. We ordered the crab rangoon as an appetizer (the kids' favorite). Wife ordered the Mongolian Beef (with fried rice). Normally I would have ordered something spicy, but as we were sharing with the kids I ordered the chicken with broccoli (also with fried rice). Both meals came with an egg roll and a cup of soup (we both chose hot and sour). The crab rangoons were very small but they were delicious and appeared to have a bit of actual crab in them (vs the "cheese rangoons" served at most chinese restaurants). The Mongolian beef was perfect. The meat was cut and cooked well (no gristle) and the brown sauce was excellent. The Chicken with Broccoli was pretty good as well. I was expecting a light brown sauce on this dish, but instead it was served with a white sauce (which was good, but just not my preference) The hot and sour soup was exceptional (in my opinion). Wife and I only got about 4 spoonfuls between us, and the kids ate the rest. In fact, our 4 yo wanted another bowl...which we did get for him. The food was pricey compared to the Chinese food we generally get in San Antonio, but I'm expecting its on par for this type of food in Park City. We expect that a restaurant has to serve exceptional food and have exceptional service in Park City to make it. Along with that comes a slightly higher price. The appetizer and two lunch specials (we drank water and the additional cup of soup was complimentary) with a generous tip was just shy of $55. WAY more than we'd generally pay for a lunch with kids, but hey it's vacation. There are so many good places to eat in Park City, I'm not sure we'll come back...but we'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent meal. read more

First off I think Panda Express is better than this restaurant. The kung pao chicken tasted like soy chicken, the mixed vegetables lacked seasoning, and the braised fish in hot sauce I expected it to be in soup form when expected. Also going back to the kung pao chicken the peppercorns seemed to not have been cooked with the food instead was just put on as a decoration. If they did cook it with oil and spice they probably rushed it bc the chicken did not absorb any of the "flavors" To put the nail in my coffin they brought fortune cookies. They were okay. Well this place used to be good, it really did when I first started going a little under a year ago. Unfortunately the last few times have been absolute shit, and they clearly don't care that their food and service is going downhill based on their response the manager, 'Nicole' gave on google to a different customers complaint: 'Sorry our service was shitty! We'd love for you to come back and try our overpriced and poorly serviced restaurant again! If not, hope you find another Chinese restaurant to enjoy.' Like really? FULL REVIEW BELOW: ? We ordered two FULL orders of beef and snow peas. Both the cartons were half full. Combined, they would have made a full order. Why did I pay $32 for half filled cartons? Also, these vegetarian pan-fried noodles? Were burned to a crisp. Literally hard as crackers the noodles were and these workers knowingly served them into the box and put the veggies on top. I'm sorry but what the fuck? They're lucky we got home (we drive 45 minutes for this place because it used to be good) before we checked the boxes because we would not have left the tip we did. In short I walk in the man doesn't greet me addressing me in a manner as if I was interrupting. The restaurant was serving maybe 3 parties at the time. When I asked for a menu I stretch out my hand to receive them and he placed it on the counter below my hand, rather than in my out-stretched hand. When it came time to pay I extended my hand the furthest I was comfortable reaching without reaching over Into the counter space behind the register, in which the cashier presented to be resistant to stretching the debit machine further than 2inches from it's previous position (I waited with my hand hovering over the desk for roughly 5 sec of time) when he then moved the debit device unrestricted to meet my hand at it position in an annoyed manner. during the closing moments of this interaction another party walks in and is greeted warmly by the cashier as the make their way to their seats. I requested a refund moments after processing the way I was treated during the interaction. I will not be returning, and will actively encourage others to do the same. I like to try new places in the places I visit for the first time, but this is not a place for new patrons. I don't recommend going to this business. I really wanted to like this place and not great Yelp reviews to be wrong. Unfortunately, a 3.5 star rating was generous on this restaurant. The digs were better than I anticipated, and the food was way worse. While born in the USA, I grew up eating my mom's Chinese food, and my parents usually took us out to Chinese, and fussy would not even describe their choices for Chinese cuisine. Food was way over salted and over sauced. Even the waiter called food "American Chinese". Portion sizes were chintzy as well, as two of us had 3 dishes and we had to supplement with a lot of rice. Park City is expensive, so I won't knock prices, but I'd rather they spent money on investing in food quality rather than renovating the restaurant. Another restaurant to not return to... Let me start out by saying that I was really looking forward to enjoying this place during Christmas Eve dinner with our family, but needless to say, things did not go the way I planned. First off, when we arrived, there was a small line inside their entrance. I'm from LA, and this is defenitely the norm when going out for Christmas Eve dinner, so that was no issue at all. I was expecting the wait to be around 45min-1hr, which I was prepared for. To my surprise, when I signed in with the host, he said it was only a 20 min wait. It looked longer then that to me, but, if he said 20 min, I was all for it. He didn't call us until about 40 min later, which was more what I was expecting, so I didn't mind that. Finally, when we sat down, we waited about 10 min for our server, (Omar), to come. Since we already looked at the menu while waiting, we were ready to order. We ordered soup, and 4 dishes. That's when the nightmare started. Once we ordered, it seemed like Omar disappeared. We literally were sitting around for about an hour. The party next to us, that were seated after we were seated, was served their food before us. We ordered soup, and they had ordered wontons and egg rolls, and their server, (a female asian lady), literally came out with their appetizer 10min after she took their order. Omar never came back to refill our waters, to check on us, to give us an update on our order or anything. We flagged another server down, and asked a refill from him. He came back within a minute or 2 to refill our waters. We waited around for another 5 min before my parents started to say they wanted to leave because they were really hungry at this point. By this time, we had waited for 40 min to be seated, and another 1.5 hrs at the table AFTER we had ordered. I flagged down the male server again, (the blonde guy that refilled our drinks). I asked him what the status of the order was. He said he would check with Omar. We waited again.... For another 20 minutes.... And nothing. No update from anyone at this time. Finally, Omar came and said he was about to bring the soup out. Of course... waited again... another 15 minutes. Omar came, but this time said he just found out 1 of the items we ordered was not available. Really?? This took him about 2 hours AFTER we ordered to tell us a plate of lemon chicken would not be available. We gave him another item to order, and finally, maybe about 10 min later, he came out with the soup. The entrees came out maybe 20 minutes after we finisehd the soup. I understand being busy on Christmas Eve, but what I didn't understand is how the other tables, being assisted by the other servers, were able to get their meals out at a regular time. I sat right next to them, so I saw it. They were seated, placed their orders within 5 minutes of being seated, and started to get their food maybe 20 min after they ordered. The whole experience was extremely upsetting. I had NEVER experienced waiting around for 2hrs for food that's ordered, and my family always goes out to eat on Christmas Eve. At the end of the meal, there was nothing done to try to make things right. No discount, no complimentary appetizer, not even an explanation or an apology. As for the food, it was nothing great. Definitely not worth waiting around 2 and a half hours for. The sweet and sour pork was super hard. We did not even finish it. The Kung Pao Shrimp order only had about maybe 8-10 pieces of small shrimp. The orange chicken seemed to be mostly all dough and tiny bits of chicken, and the noodles seemed like it was only half an order. read more

From the outside it looks dated and maybe you might pass it by. Once your inside there is plenty of clean seating and it is quiet and relaxing at booths or tables. The food was as expected and there were no issues. Nothing amazing to write home about, but also nothing that wouldn't make me come back (which we will). Our family has frequented Szechwan Chinese Kitchen for a very long time. Even during the Covid-19 lock down, we visited multiple times for curbside pickup. As many people did, we gave extra generous tips to our favorite restaurants and servers during Covid. Szechwan is pricey, but food quality and selection are excellent. We took really good care to tip them above 50% on take-out orders. Unfortunately, we have made our last visit, after this past week. My wife and her guest had dinner at Szechwan and a server we have known and loved for years, Omar, accused us of leaving without paying our bill on a recent visit. My wife was shocked and mad as hell because the inquiry was accusatory. Apparently he is convinced we left without paying. He was our server on the night in question, but another employee took our credit card payment - also a person that has helped us many times. We have pulled the bank transaction and I'll be sending it to the owner, as well as pointing out the 30% gratuity. David's Kitchen in South Salt Lake will get our extra business from now on. The owner's son, Henry, is awesome and the food is better as well. We will make the longer drive. There are also a lot of alternative choices in the area. read more

I have been to this restaurant many times and have liked the food in the past. Today the hostess was so rude and unfriendly. When we walked in I asked where the bathroom was and she responded in a very sarcastic manner with. There's a sign!" Not a great first impression. The food was lack luster at best. The hot and sour soup was very spicy, the almond chicken was flavorless and the egg rolls were filled nothing but bean sprouts. When we were ready to pay, we walked to the desk and the hostess ignored us, made no eye contact, did not ask if we were ready to pay or even inquire about our experience. Instead she walked away from us, in order help her "local" friends who had arrived at the desk after us. She proceeded to greet and have a conversation with therm as we waited to pay. The owner even came out to greet "the regulars" and discuss their fish exchange, again as we stood waiting to pay. I am not sure they would have even noticed if we had walked out without paying, but we continued to wait to be helped. The hostess and the owner stayed with the "locals" to cater their every need while we continued to wait at the desk to pay our bill. Jitta, our server finally noticed we were still waiting and promptly came to the desk to help us. He apologized for the delay and took our payment. Luckily, the tip we left will go to him. Thank you Jitta for your response and kindness As we were finishing our transaction, the owner and the hostess came to the desk, continued to ignore us, neither one of them thanked us for our patronage, asked how our meal was or wished us a good day. I had to resort to adding soy sauce, pepper, and salt to the rice. All of which did not improve the flavor in the slightest. While the shredded beef was seasoned well and was tender, it did not taste "Szechwan". There was no numbing spice or acidity to the dish.
