Ordered here through Doordash. Ordered the mixed vegetables, plain lo mein, and egg rolls. 1. The vegetables - didn't have much flavor but they would have been okay if it weren't for the "goopy" sauce. I think they used too much corn starch or whatever they use to thicken their sauce. "It had clumps of clear goop" is the best way to describe it. 2. The lo mein - was really good. A little greasy but no more than other Chinese spots. 3. The egg rolls have gotten even better taste wise, but they are really small. They are really good, but I almost didn't buy them because the price for one has gone up to $2.59 for just one. When I received it, I was a little annoyed to know that I spent more for a smaller portion. I thought maybe I received a spring roll by mistake, but they were the new egg rolls. Hands down the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I ordered the Triple Delight w/ Fried rice. The fried rice tasted old. The veggies in the brown sauce tasted old, the brown sauce was flavor less. I ended up picking everything out & eating the Shrimp (which tasted old but eatable), the Steak, the Broccoli & the peas. The Spring rolls were crispy and not bad. Beautiful Chinese paintings on the walls and comfortable booths. The shrimp lo mein (soft noodles) wasn't on the impressive combination option (comes with rice, soup, and an egg roll). They may not look like much outisde, but they have Pretty good Chinese food and the ladies who work here are friendly. I always get the beef fried rice and wings. I tried an egg roll my last visit and it was crisp and delicious. One of the few places that provide extra onion in my rice when asked. The crab Rangoon is delicious as well. I have been working as an essential worker since covid19 1st shut down everything..... So I've seen restaurants being shut down where we had to come in and pick things up for ordering to door - or Yelp or what have you But never in my years have I ever seen a dog door Create it out of wood and mesh from a screen door. I do not live in this area but my mother does this is a predominantly African American community and instead of simply putting up plexiglass having hand sanitizer or even a sanitizing station they created a door made out of wood that could be purchased at home depot to drop people's food down into a Box and to also hand them their credit cards it is absolutely ridiculous I've never seen any crap like this. They need to remove it ASAP and adhere to the states regulations and guidelines for businesses. Until something is done I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. read more

This restaurant is an family owned restaurant that serve dishes from Szechwan cuisine that you can't find much places serving them anywhere in the area. I ordered the shredded beef with the vegetables, the orange chicken and also their crispy fried chicken wings. The shredded beef dish was very delicious, but I was a little disappointed by how much vegetables was there than the beef. Still the heat that this dish pack with a kick was enough to make up for it. The orange chicken was much much better than the ones you would normally order at any other Chinese-American restaurants or Chinese carryout. Their fried chicken wings are so so good especially how crispy and tender they are. Not only that, they don't feel too oily or dry when you eat them so that's a thumb up right there. By popular belief, this resturant normally would not get such high "Star Grade" but I have to give credit where credit is due. There is nothing spectacular about this spot, its not in the best of neighborhood, I mean I don't know what more I can say to convince you all that this is truly a "HOLE-N-THE WALL" Resturant...... I don't know if the atmosphere or is it that the food is just that good why I enjoy coming here. This place is known for its deleivey and take out. Not too many people actaually eat in here...and that is how I found this spot and fell in love with it!!!!! My wife and I one night about 9ish had just finish grocery shopping (right next door at the Giant) and we wanted something to eat....again this place is known for take out and delievey but we didn't want to do either so we went in side and asked if we could get a table (we were the only couple in there) Wife ordered the Crispy Chicken & Shrimp and I order the Benji Beef.....again the atmosphere was so pleasent and relaxing that my wife and I got to talking about everything and when I food arrived (is very reasonable time..piping hot) we paused looked over our food and begin eating.....2 hours later the food was gone and were still talking as if we had just met. I've lived in the area for about two years----and I have to admit that I have never been the biggest cheerleader for Chinese food (believe me, you don't want to hear the story of why) but my daughter goes cuckoo for coconuts over it so we tried this restaurant one day and ordered takeout. But what I can speak on is the customer service is commendable...my experience has been that our order has always been taken cordially and politely--never that rush rush, heard me wrong, repeat it wrong (and ultimately get it wrong) that I sometimes get with other Chinese restaurants. My only critique would be that their food to rice ratio is a little off so you want to order EXTRA rice. I have been a loyal supporter of Szechwan for 11 YEARS and the food is STILL amazing! Definitely my favorite Asian spot on this side of town. As Danny said you will be surprised by eating in here. The food is just astonishing. Anything from the American food to the Asian cuisine. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. You receive fried wontons, homemade duck sauce, and black tea once seated. The portions are plentiful and packed with flavor. You will DEFINITELY leave satisfied. Cant really say much else lol. Didn't get a chance to take pictures because I honestly just wanted to dig in. I had the crispy shrimp with vegetables galore and crab wontons. My friend had the shrimp and scallops szechuan and 2 shrimp egg rolls. Everything was good, this is not a bad Chinese spot. It's kind of hidden in the Marlow Heights shopping center but if you are familiar with Steak in the Sack then you know exactly where this place is. The customer service is direct lol and your food comes out in a timely fashion.My friends and I growing up frequent this restaurant a lot and my very first boyfriend (giggles) and I use to come here on our affordable middle/high school outings. The only reason I'll give it two stars is because the place looks very nice on the inside and the chicken wings were decent when I DID order food. I asked to use the restroom before I ordered and was told there was no restroom I clearly remember me using the restroom the last time I came. So I pointed towards the restroom and explained I knew there is one. The woman raised her voice at me and said " I said no do you want to order!" Unless its made by a beginner in the Asian Culinary arts. but the food here is average at best. Some dishes kinda depress me a lot but others are really good Example of a depressing dish. Their General Tso's Shrimp. ( Not as well done as their General Tso's Chicken ) and its filled with more oil and juice from the stuff they cook with than anything else. So thats what prevented a full on 5 star review Example of an excellent dish. Their General Tso's Chicken. ( Breaded perfectly and tastes good its easily going down as well as it's enough to make me smile. Unlike other chinese places ive ate at they arent sparringly on the servings and you honestly get what you paied for overall so it aint that bad.) Sides I'd reccomend. If your into the whole carryout chicken wings and mumbo sauce thing. Im not but my parents go gaga over that stuff then order that. I like the steak and cheese eggrolls. Honestly I prefer that over their normal style eggrolls. The Atmosphere is nice I ate there and while it is a chinese place they managed to serve Sake which I had it was quite good. This WAS my favorite neighborhood Chinese restaurant for decades. Similar to another comment made, their customer service has diminished greatly. You used to be able to eat-in during regular business hours. Now the days and times are restricted to 11:30am to 2:30pm, Monday thru Friday. For a short- time they had done away with all dine-in services entirely. I was told this had to do with the customers. The most disturbing part of my recent experience was visiting the restrooms. My grandson would not use the Men's room and I was equally turned off by the poor condition in the Women's room. I pointed out the deplorable conditions to one of the employees. She blamed the conditions on the customers. Ultimately, if you are operating a restaurant this is your responsibility!!! read more

Ok so since my last review, the food was horrible. I ordered the typical American Chinese food, shrimp fried rice, egg drop soup, egg roll and sesame chicken with lo mein. How can you make hard fried rice that has no flavor, and without peas or carrots just onions and bean sprouts? It was dry, the shrimp were tiny and I ordered extra shrimp. The egg drop soup was too thick must've used a ton of corn starch to make it! The sesame chicken was too sweet and chicken was over fried and hard too! The only thing was decent was the egg roll which was surprisingly fresh and not greasy.
