I was not rude or short yet I was told go get an atty and a subpoena. It's faster and cheaper to wait in line half the day and pay $11 than to deal with Verizon anymore. When I went back for a refund they said the didn't do that though I had bought it hours ago and went back to the store 3 times to try and fix the problem.

The pay for call centers overseas, and set incentives, apparently, to keep customers on the phone line for extremely long periods of time, as they cycle through script after script after script without addressing the problem, because they can't really solve it. Then they put you on with a supervisor who tries to sell you on something like sharing all your contacts because you don't want to receive hundreds of spam calls a day. Phone companies are going the way of cable TV, and have for some time, which seems to be, "screw the customer we don't care about them, all we care about is making the most possible money and taking every bit of time and money we can." Privacy and professional propriety and information security don't matter at all to them. A customer's time is their's to waste, in their point of view.

Ben did not offer the lowest price but I chose him because of his detail answers and how quickly he responded to my questions. I showed up a few hours later when I got off work. Ben greeted me and was super friendly. He tested my phone before working on it to ensure I was correct about the issue I was having. He told me it would be about 30 mins to finish the repair. He was done with my phone within 20 mins. He tested my phone in front of me to show me it was working correctly. I really like how engaging Ben was and how he took the time to answer my questions and not over charge me once I showed up in person.

Fred was determined to get to the bottom of it, helped me find the right external hard drive to protect my photo memories, and walked me through it all in under an hour and made sure to give me some online resources for additional guidance at home. He made what could've been a frustrating tech visit feel calm and handled. Even though I was one of the last three customers in the store, the whole staff was welcoming and never made me feel rushed. I agreed to it. It's a tiny shop that's next to a gas station. It looks completely run down and if it weren't for the reviews, I'd have a hard time seeing myself here. I was told that I'd be able to come pick it up in roughly 3 hours. Kudos for allowing same-day service. By the time it was ready for pickup, I came in to inspect the phone. I noticed just there are some gaps on the screen but it was responsive. Right as it became time to pay I learned they were unwilling to accept the Yelp check in offer of 10% off and would charge an additional $20 fee when deciding to use a credit card. I went out to get cash and eventually paid. When asking for a receipt, he gave me a piece of paper with some scribbles and largely illegible penmanship. Overall the repair was successful, the price was right, but the inconvenience and shoddy customer service might mean I will reconsider my business if this ever happens again.
