So this is an update unfortunately things have gone worse than I could imagine. They already could've been. I purchased International phone service from these people plus a pass to call anywhere in the world. This is a literal joke cause I was in three countries the service in the first country was basically limited to my friends's Wi-Fi. The second country, the APARTMENT's Wi-Fi and the Street Wi-Fi to send a message with theirs was impossible. Then the lost country there was absolutely no service. None I tried to cancel them. I had to get another phone. Service had to bring a LOCAL in to get the phone service. Paid for that then I had to go back in and pay again to call the United States to talk to T-Mobile. Which all I was hung up on at least six times. Promised everything like promises promises promises is really they should change your name. I had no service for three weeks until I came back to San Francisco. The very next day I went into the office I was livid. They told me that they couldn't help me. I explained to them what would they do if they had a situation they couldn't answer me they told me to call 611. Those people said they would help me which is another promise. Unfulfilled of course so I canceled went to another company and I was wanting a refund. They promised a refund of $75 which I didn't even see as of yet. But now they are harassing me on a daily basis twice a day calling to say they will ruin my credit and can lose my number etc. Before this a few agents promised again a phone call to straighten out the mess . I visited this store with three objectives: purchase a new phone, activate said phone, and modify my plan. Walking in, I was 100% committed to making a purchase, and I knew exactly which device I wanted. This didn't stop MULTIPLE associates from aggressively upselling me on different phones, new lines, other devices and accessories, even after repeatedly declining. I HAVE A LINE, I'M NOT GOING TO OPEN A NEW ONE FOR A "FREE" DEVICE UPGRADE. It took an extremely long time for them to "activate" my new device and process the sale. During this time, they notified me that there would be a $35 activation fee and a $70 restocking fee if I return it. When I got home and finished setting up the device, it turns out the eSIM was NOT activated. It took an hour of excruciating calls with their support team to complete the activation i had PAID FOR in-store. My other goal in-store was to ask them to remove the "HotSpot Data Add-On" from my line. They assured me this would be removed at the end of the billing cycle. 2-weeks later, at the end of the billing cycle, all of my data services were removed. Another hour with the support team to restore the base functionality of my plan. To recap, what the in-store agents accomplished was: 1. aggressively "selling" to a customer who walked in the door with specific intent to purchase 2. bungling a SIM card activation 3. bungling a simple service adjustment 4. costing me and their own support team 2 hours of time to do their job I was thrilled to ultimately return the device, for a full refund of the "activation fee." Less the restocking fee, which was of course only $20, not $70 as they warned me several times. If you want a working phone with active cell service, avoid this location. Buy an unlocked phone and activate online. You'll have a far better experience and your device won't be riddled with T-Mobile bloatware. read more

Changing to a new carrier is a little like moving: It takes way longer than you think, things go sideways, frustration sets in - but it all works out in the end. I still have a technical issue with my service but I know T-Mobile's network is vastly superior. Plus, they just got access to Elon Musk's Starlink satellites so coverage - including international- will be phenomenal. I got a great deal on my son's phone, the Samsung S23 Ultra 5G, that will cost $2 a month and my iPhone 14 upgrade was of similar value with a trade in. I'm paying less for two lines and new phones than I did with a single line with AT&T. And, you get tons of useful freebies when you move over to T-Mobile like free Paramount TV for a year, Apple TV and Netflix (I think forever), AAA membership for a year and more. I returned to T-Mobile after a dozen years when they initially couldn't get the iPhone. I hope it'll be a good move. We'll see. read more

Got GoogleFiber internet and T-mobil service quality became poor. Went to the Geary at Stanyan store and had a very bad experience with Mike, a representative at the store. He kept interrupting and clearly was not interested in even trying to help. He took over the conversation while my wife and I were being helped by two other employees, who were in the front office. Mike impolitely continued interrupting me and did not show the minimum desire to help solve the problem, poor reception and dropped calls. Totally unsatisfactory customer service, a waste of time. read more

A young man here explain me very well this thing called 5G. He was amazed and called over a co-worker when he discovered I still using a iPhone #4. It only has the 4G. He said I was getting the most out of this old model and he reached out his fist to me, turned down. I am not sure what is this new handshake. I copy him and we connect the eyes like tradition in Italy. We were like brothers in this small moment. After he installs new SIM card ("damn, you got version 20 of this dude, oooold version"), he is fixing some setting in one of the menus. Always I ask young people to do this. He accidentally open my photo app, and it shows my girlfriend and me at the beach. That was a good day. Gianna is sick now and seeing that again made me sad. I tell him story of how she is sick, and he was listening. I am almost crying and so I take the phone and leave the store. Get on #38 bus, worst bus in the whole world, forever. But I have a new SIM card. And understand the 5G. Good man, this young guy. If I buy a new phone, I will come here. read more

I'm actually due for an upgrade but don't need a new phone persay..The staff evaluated my phone and gave me recommendations that were realistic and practical and charged my phn for a while to at least get me home.. After doing extensive research, my husband and I decided to switch over from our former phone plans and go with T-Mobile! For our purposes, this plan compared to other carriers seemed to have the best International data plans. They were also promoting their old phone trade-in, free Netflix and Paramount+ subscriptions, and AAA. This was also the most inexpensive one out there for unlimited data. I'll take it! We came here originally in the early afternoon around 1:30pm, in which the store was completely empty except for two sales reps. They were honestly kind of useless, because without the manager there, they were unable to enable the old phone trade-in promotion. They recommended for us to return later when the manager was in store at 3pm. We returned around 5:30pm, and the store was PACKED. They now had 4 employees here to work the shop, but there were so many customers at this time. Luckily we were helped almost instantly, as a customer ahead of us had just finished up. Our entire process of starting a new phone plan, upgrading our two phones, trading in our old phones, took 2 hours. We did not get out of there until 7:30pm. But that being said, I'm glad we had Koko for our T-mobile expert, because she was particularly patient and knowledgeable. There was another guy Jasun, that seemed to have poor attitude with customers and around the store. He also dressed like a slob. There was a hispanic gentleman that seemed to be very knowledgable and helpful for his customers too. From what I could pick up from waiting there for 2 hours, it seemed like the T-mobile system was kind of outdated (not the employees' fault). For instance, there was only one computer to look up Spring customer info. With only one computer to do that, it backed up several customers in line. The funny thing is, there was this old Asian lady there who was just sitting on the bench the whole time. She was asking for what seemed like tutoring help on her phone - asking employees, asking other customers, etc. We found out later that this lady comes everyday to ask for help, and they just help her. I thought that was quite nice that they didn't kick her out - they just let her be, and helped her out with her random training sessions. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my service here. We had a lot of tasks to get done, and Koko helped us patiently with all of them. read more

Beware of T-Mobile and T-Mobile Sprint. My experience with two different events is that both companies have deceptive marketing practices. It's hard to tell if it is both companies and/or the actual store that misled us. This is basically the point of this review. There's a lot more if you're interested in the details. Believe me, I will not be doing business with either company in the future. T-Mobile/Sprint: A letter was, sent to my friend who is a user on the account. It said his phone would not work on Sprint's new 5G Network come January 2022. The same letter said to go-to a T-Mobile store to get a free phone. My friend asked me to help him at the store. The letter never said the free phone came with a two-year service contract. I specifically asked the store agent to confirm there would be no contract. He ASSURED us there would be no contract. The phone stopped working properly within two months. That's when we discovered my friend was indeed under contract. If he cancelled his account he would have to pay for the phone ($240). An escalation manager assured the subscribe the phone would be replaced when he called T-Mobile Sprint himself. That was not the case when the user went in to get the phone replaced. T-Mobile Sprint told the T-Mobile store agent no one approved a replacement. The manufacturer said that cheap model phone had a lot of known problems. It had to be mailed to a repair center in another state. No use of a temporary phone, either. (Note: I got Sprint to cancel the contract without penalty.) T-Mobile I went back to T-Mobile on my own to become a new subscriber (before the Sprint fiasco). On the previous visit I was told there was a basic service plan that for $40 including tax and surcharges. It was unlimited text, phone and data. There would be no contract. On the same day there was a free phone promotion for new customers. Turns out I am being billed for the highest tier plan with a 2-year contract plus the cost of the phone. I am now paying more than what I paid with the company I left. In addition, my phone was not setup properly. I could not connect to the network at places in my own city where I frequent the most. Bank, restaurants, hair salon and neighborhood supermarket to name a few, Technical support said that I was set up as a lower tiered service plan. Billed for the highest tier, though. I regret cancelling service with one of the other big three companies. Having to deal with the representatives from T-Mobile Sprint and T-Mobile on the phone was frustrating and ridiculous. Sprint was the absolute worse with only foreign country customer service and escalation offices. They said there were no offices in the US. After trying to get what I ordered on 2 calls to T-Mobile, I decided not to fight the fight. I didn't want to go down the same road that I did with Sprint. I'll ride out the 2-year contract and probably go back to the devil I know. By the way, my new phone is OnePlus 9 Pro 5G. It's an inferior product that's driving me nuts. The agent in the store said it was an excellent phone. So not only was I told the phone was free he gave me false hope that I got a terrific phone. This is how a 5-star review became a one-star. The agents themselves at the store were patient and seemingly helpful. I can't help but think that T-Mobile and T-Mobile Sprint get the blame for this horrible review. Lesson learned. read more

Run away as far as you can, and never look back, lest you be pulled into the demonic vortex that is the T-mobile Geary store. I actually hiked 7 miles into town and borrowed someone else's phone to write this review. After experiencing T-Mobile's customer service, I gave up on technology altogether, and moved to a remote corner of Alaska, where I now live off the grid. I had recently moved and needed a new internet provider. I decided to try T-mobile's free trial. I found a better deal, returned the equipment early and cancelled...or so I thought. I was innocent then. A few weeks later, they sent me a bill for 53$, which I spent 40 mins on the phone with customer service, trying to fix. The person on the phone said they took care of it, chanted some sort of incantation, and I was done. Or so I thought... But then I got a notice from a collection agency, for 53$. I began to twitch, violently. I spent another hour on the phone with T-mobile's customer service, speaking with 3 different people, only to have them tell me I needed to go to the Geary store in person, which I did, after I was done cursing and possibly speaking Latin in reverse. I waited so long at the Geary Store, I lost consciousness and had disturbing visions of nuclear armaggedon. Eventually they told me I needed to resolve the issue at the Van Ness corporate headquarters. I wept and gnashed my teeth, bitterly. The people at corporate gently wiped away my tears and kindly asked if I'd be open to simply paying the 53$ to make the problem go away. That was the moment I knew that true evil existed and that T-Mobile was in league with the devil himself. The people at the corporate office laughed manically and told me I had to go back to the belly of the beast, the mouth of hell itself: The T mobile on Geary. My heart pounded with a feeling of impending doom as I returned to Geary. Alas, only the manager knew the secret password that would me free me of T-mobile's clutches, and they were gone for the day. I fainted. The next morning, I woke up screaming and returned to Geary. I waited so long that my hair went totally white. Wolves were howling. The clock struck 13. Banshees were wailing, and hooves galloped; then suddenly, silence. It was finished. The manager had broken the spell and I was free. Or so I thought... But then I received a bill from T-mobile for $7.53 in late fees. I projectile vomited, and my head started spinning all the way around. I am now a shell of a person. Wherever I go, whatever I do, T-mobile will hound me and haunt me until the end of time. Even as I type, I can feel T-mobile drawing near- I feel it's talons on my neck. Save yourself. Really bad service, I totally understand if I have to wait for the line if they have not so many people to help service but 6 employees at the moment and 4 customers get taking care while I have to waiting for 20mins after that has I guy came in and one of employees take care of him first even though other employees saw me waiting before he came in. She walked me through the steps and sent links for me to prepare in advance of receiving the Sim cards (unlocking the devices, getting a transfer pin from Verizon, etc.). If you call T-Mobile to figure out the plan you want and move to them, I hope your customer service rep is Shiann, or equally experienced. I came to the store and bought mag safe charger because my phone power jack broke and I thought what a great thing would it be with wireless charger. So I bought it here in this office. After I tried I found that my phone is too old and I brought charger back to store, it was different junior salesperson who said that he need to check with a manager if they can take it back, after he talked to manager he said they can't take it because it was opened, i asked him to talk to his manager and he (Brandon) came and said that they can't it back because I don't have a receipt! After I asked him how I can to talk to his manager, the guy who sold me charger came and said that ok, they take it back. This location is a franchise, and not owned by corporate. Thus their service is lower quality and their capabilities are much lower. I went into see about upgrading my plan for faster internationally use, and somehow they ended up shutting off my data by mistake. I came back later, and they thought my SIM card was broken. However, they don't have any SIM cards in stock with which to replace mine (which wasn't broken at all anyway). They also "don't know when we will get new SIM cards shipped in". So I walked across Golden gate Park to the Irving location, where they chuckled. "We get a lot of people who come here after a bad experience at stanyan" they said. Regardless, the location in the inner sunset set me up and got me back to where I started. Unfortunately however I'm paying more because of the service the Stanyan place shut off was grandfathered at a lower price. Turning it back on meant changing to the newer plan which is more expensive. So I lost money along with most of a day wasted running around town for no reason. read more

I had an excellent experience at T-Mobile working with Tj who helped me choose a new iphone and a plan. I was mostly interested in upgrading my camera and he was able to explain the pros and cons of the different models in an easy-to-compare way. I thought I would buy the iphone 12pro but according to Tj, for what I was using it for, the iphone 12 was plenty sufficient. Saved me about $100. Not a review of this store but of T-Mobile in general. Using T-Mobile is the equivalent of having cell service that works about 70% of the time. I Tried T-Mobile for two weeks and it was a huge step back from AT&T and Verizon who I used in the past. T-Mobile service should cost about $20 a month because of how unreliable it is. I had some issues with my phone and was running around all day from Apple Store to another Sprint store to Sprint Customer support and it was getting frustrating. Went to this store because someone at Sprint Customer service told me what the issues were and told me how to address them in a sprint store. Came here, and even though it was a several hour process, the two young men behind the counter were helpful and remained positive and did everything they could to help and did it with a smile on their face. They were amazing in a pretty negative situation where nothing was seeming to go right in trying to fix my service/phone.
