DO NOT GET A REPAIR HERE! 0 STARS…read more I am extremely disappointed with my experience at The Phone Guys in Everett. I cracked the screen on my iPhone 16, which had absolutely zero issues before the repair. I had used third-party repair shops for previous iPhones without a problem, so I assumed spending $200 to replace the screen here would be perfectly fine. I was very wrong. I went in on a Sunday and paid $200 for the screen repair. That night, everything seemed fine. Then the problems started the very next day. My screen began randomly turning bright purple, yellow, and green**, almost like there was a filter over the entire display. The phone also started ghost-touching, typing things on its own, and randomly turning itself off. Again, I had none of these problems whatsoever before The Phone Guys worked on my phone. By Wednesday morning, the screen wouldn't even turn on. The phone would vibrate and make notification sounds, but the display was completely black. I brought it back to The Phone Guys, and they supposedly "fixed it." I went about my day, only for the phone to completely shut off again that same Wednesday night. I went back Thursday. Same issue. I went back again Friday. Same issue. At this point, I was incredibly frustrated. The employee who was dealing with my phone did not seem to have a clear explanation for what was happening. Initially, I was told they would order another screen at no charge, but the conversation then shifted toward suggesting that I had somehow caused the problems myself. I was told my phone had "bad software," despite the fact that the phone had worked perfectly until immediately after their screen repair. What made this experience even more upsetting was the lack of accountability. Instead of acknowledging that something could have gone wrong during the repair, I felt like the responsibility was being pushed back onto me. I was also told to lie to Apple and tell them that I had not received service from a third-party repair shop. That was extremely concerning and completely unacceptable to me. I eventually went to Apple because I needed a functioning phone. Apple was able to repair it, but it cost me another $300. So I am now out $500 total because I needed a cracked screen repaired. I returned to The Phone Guys again on Sunday with my receipts and documentation showing what happened. I asked them to compensate me for the additional cost I incurred after their repair. They refused, saying they needed the original screen -- which Apple had already disposed of. I understand that things can go wrong with electronics. What I cannot accept is paying $200 for a repair, immediately developing serious problems that did not exist beforehand, repeatedly returning to the same shop for help, and then being told that the problem was somehow my fault -- followed by a refusal to take responsibility for the additional $300 I had to spend getting my phone working again. If you need your iPhone repaired, I strongly recommend considering Apple directly rather than taking the risk I did. Saving money on the initial repair was absolutely not worth it in my experience. The entire situation has been incredibly frustrating, expensive, and upsetting. I feel like I paid this business to fix my phone and instead ended up paying $500 to deal with the consequences. The Phone Guys- if you are reading this, I would still like to be compensated for the additional $300 I had to spend. Not only that, but Verizon support will lie about anything to keep your service and then like some more and not follow through on what they say. After we switched, we had these problems. They promised credits, a booster, and after multiple calls and promises, we had no choice but to switch as they do not follow through. At the end, we decided we needed to switch and contacted Verizon to understand the costs involved. They told us it would cost $240 to buy out one of our phones, the other nothing. When we went to cancel though, they said that was wrong and would not honor what their folks said before, even if we had it in writing, and the price we would need to pay would be $1000 more. I contacted them a few times and the last person I talked to said, "You no longer have service with us, we do not need to escalate or do anything for you..." in asking to resolve my issue. How there theft works is, say you pre pay $120 on your pay in advance account and your monthly bill is $60. You change carriers and there is $60 still pre paid on your account. They do not refund the $60 back to the original payment method, they keep it. Verizon acts so unaware this is happening.

By the time the website was working again, they disconnected my service. I called Cricket when they opened for business hours and I told them I was trying to make a payment but your platform was and is under maintenance and there wasn't a way I could pay. They said I was lying and I could have made a payment. I asked them for a refund so I could move to a different provider they refused. Dear Cricket, there is always someone looking to take your business. Fuck your policies that you wrote on your couch to put on a website. Make the customer happy. What will separate you is your customer service and common sense. I was simply trying to make a payment and your page was down. But you disconnect my service, and charge me fees. You dumb fucks. Dumbass cell phone providers, there are companies that are cheaper with better incentives ex) Mint Mobile. Why would I pay for wifi at home and pay a cell provider $60-$200+ Per month. Wake up. I use wifi 99% of the time. We no longer need a T Mobile $200/month cell phone bill or a Cricket $60.00 cell phone bill. We can go to a company that's $20/month and get the same thing and better.

I went to Universal Phones in Everett and bought a Galaxy S10+ . When Dia, the sales lady, asked me if I wanted to purchase tempered glass and a protective case for an additional $50, I agreed, let's do it. I immediately noticed that the case didn't seem to fit well, that there were issues getting the side buttons to work thru the case. I was assured that everything was fine and my phone had "good protection" now.  Well the tempered glass didn't even last 3 weeks. I noticed a chip on the edge of the glass, which quickly formed into a crack across the entire faceplate.  I removed the tempered glass, and the case seemed to fit better, I could actually press the side buttons thru the case now. Three months later,  the case is useless.  The plastic around the charge port was pretty thin, and it began to break apart. Today the whole side of the case cracked and broke off.  Absolute garbage! For $15, they will replace the tempered glass, but considering they didn't set it properly and chipped it the first time, I wasn't going to give them more money for ltheir incompetence. They prefer you to pay them with cash, but I don't walk around with $400 in my pocket, so they charged me an additional $15 for using my debit card. Just a total money grab. I'm hoping someone will find this review helpful and save them from being suckered. Don't waste your money at Univeral Phones.

The other deal I had with a private party fell through so I decided to stop in their store. One weird thing is they only accepted cash app as a form of payment... They only had one XS Max so I didn't get the option to choose I also picked out a couple accessories but when I got to my car I looked at my receipt and it was nearly $200 more than the original ad claimed it would be!!! I immediately went back inside and was shut down and told because of the color and condition of the device I wouldn't qualify for the special that that specific one had already sold and that i I could not get a refund!!!! BS!!! All their phones are said to be "grade a" and the color of the phone is irrelevant for all major phone carriers and price difference!!! They offered no sort of solution and pretty much said oh well RUDE!
