T4U and T4ALL... Sweet little spot, seems to be always bumping when i go. Parking is plenty in the strip like mall area. Im hooked on the Earl Grey milk tea 80% sweet. The peppermint is pretty decent too. With so many choices of flavors and ways to make it. Hot, iced, smoothie with our without boba. They even have some fried goodies too, french fries, lobster balls, basil chicken and a few more items. You can customize your drink on sweetness levels and ice. If your not a fan of sweetness i would definitely suggest 80% or lower. The standard level is pretty sweet. The taste of the drinks are good, once you find your sweetness level and ice ratio you will enjoy. I waited a few times to figure this out. With seeing many yelp friends talk about the sweetness levels i understand now. With each flavor of a drink you choose you might need it sweet or not. I came here with a group of friends for boba. It was clean and spacious inside. There were only a couple of seats which is fine. It wasn't too busy, and it was a Sunday at 6:40 pm. I like T4 U because of the being able to choose the level of sweetness and ice. I always feel like I'm not getting my bang for the buck because ice fills up the bulk of the cup. At T4, I feel like I can get my money's worth by getting less ice and more tea! Options are 0%, 30%, 50%, 80%, and standard. I choose 30% for sweetness and 30% ice. 30% sweetness is kind of bland but it makes me feel not as guilty while indulging in boba. It's the perfect amount of ice IMO-- just enough to keep my tea cold. There are a lot of tea options and a few snacks. I've ordered popcorn chicken a few times. I like to add the spicy powder to it. Sometimes there's a line, but now that I know there's usually no line, I'll most likely come in during this time. They only have (2) sizes: regular/ large. There's a .55 cent charge extra for a large size & also extra toppings. They have a good variety of toppings including: rainbow jelly, lychee jelly, pudding etc. They have a huge list of drinks you can order. I mainly come here because it's the only milk tea place that serves takoyaki. They actually have a good selection of snacks including: popcorn chicken, sweet potato fries, & much more. The cashier then said it would be ready in 3-5 min. I explained that their system said 15. It wasn't so much that they were running behind but....All She could say was "yea I know but we've been really busy and can you please sit over there? This is the employee seating area." Honestly, if you have never tried Rose Milk Tea T4 is the place to try it! I've ordered this drink at plenty of boba shops and honestly they just don't even come close to T4's Rose Milk Tea. T4 has food (lite bites) and bubble tea and must be a fan favorite in the Sacramento area as the place was filled with in and out customers. Located in a strip mall surrounded by other establishments I walked in and was able to quickly place my order. Both my son and I agreed the passion fruit smoothie with the added fruit bubble was fire...to top it off the basil chicken adds a perfect unhealthy but maybe healthy snack for the car...I'd surely come back for both items tried...they do have online ordering as well which is always a plus to me. Pros: 1) Customer service was pleasant as always. 2) They have board games for customers to use while they hang out. 3) Their snack menu (including fries, chicken wings, nuggets, takoyaki etc) is pretty impressive. It's really nice how they have chairs on the side so that people who are waiting for their orders can sit and wait. Generally, they have music playing and it isn't too overpowering so it allows for chit chat if a table is open. I have my standard order: Apple royal tea + aloe and 0% ice. But after this visit, I may be adding the elegant rose tea to my top faves. I love their management. In one of Truxel Rd's various strip malls is this partially-hidden boba tea house near the corner of a grocery store. A simple white-font sign above the door is meant to read "Tea For U". But the "U" is gone for the moment. Inside is a vibrant little eatery fit for small groups/gatherings. A single long booth stretches along the long right wall decorated with art drawn on sticky-notes; a few white tables and chairs dot along it for seating. From anime heroes to Disney princesses to simple ads of "T4", it's a varied and fun gathering. The other wall - lined with your simple tables and four chairs - has some interesting photo prints like top-down shots of their drinks made to look like a polka-dot wallpaper. At the far back of the place is the ordering counter where the prep area can be seen behind it, and the kitchen further behind curtains. Large menus sit above and to the right of the counter with all sorts of teas, shakes, and fried snacks for munching on. I decide to splurge and get a passionfruit shake, the basil fried chicken, an egg waffle, the fried flour buns, with condensed milk, and an order of oolong tea eggs. I was looking forward to the eggs and they didn't disappoint. Inside the little to-go box were five - usually three, but there was an error - dark-brown eggs cracked open purposely to reveal a deep grey marinated side, and surrounded by a "nest" of oolong tea leaves. After a peel, you are left with a dull tan hardboiled egg with dark veins caused by its preparation. While I assumed it would be an egg with a slight tea flavor, I was pleasantly proved wrong. It was slightly salty. Savory. With just a hint of tea flavor. These little suckers are packed with a surprising amount of flavor and putting the standard hardboiled egg to shame. The flour buns were a lot of fun, but it may need another investigation to see if I truly like i. Though, it does remind me of fried mantou buns. As a dish they serve: it's a crispy, golden brown bunch of what look like mini croissants. The exterior is nice and flaky, but inside is a slightly more dense bread-y interior. It's as if a croissant and a steamed dim sum bun had a child that's paired with the thick sweet nonsense that is condensed milk. Their egg waffle is a good crispy hit of thin, crispy, vanilla-flavored goodness that breaks off easy for sharing or fast solitary consumption. Now the thing that shocked me most is this basil popcorn chicken. It's fried in a wonderfully savory mixture that has a deceptive ending that feels like spice that disappears before building a small sweat-inducing heat. It's just so wonderfully seasoned, and the fried basil itself lends its bright, aromatic hand to the tasting table. Heck, they could probably sell the fried basil by itself. It's a simple-but-wonderful mixture that's rival to well-established fried chicken places. T4 is a treat in itself by taking the drink-only boba shops that the Sacramento area has and include a steady menu of great snack foods. She was confused and asked what I ordered and she put the order in again for the ONLY other worker to make it...in line with several other drinks. After we finished our drinks we went for another round since we probably wouldn't be back for a while...plus our milk teas ran out fast. I chose the honey peach royal iced tea...ooooh it was sweet. Their drinks have more ice and sweetness than the average boba, so I'd definitely recommend getting less ice and sweetness. Their levels for both are listed on the menu. The snacks were pretty good. Luckily we came during their BOGO deal for snacks so we got to try a ton of things: takoyaki, deep fried flour bun, deep fried spring roll, popcorn chicken, and fried squid. My favorite was probably the takoyaki (hard to find in this area) and the flour buns..haven't had anything quite like it! T4 originated from Taiwan. I ordered the panda milk tea- earl grey with black and white tapioca- 30% sweetness and 30% ice. The drink was good. I preferred the black over the white tapioca, which have very different textures. My main complaint is the amount of ice. If what they gave me was really 30%, then I can't imagine how much ice a standard drink would have. My friends and I also ordered a few snacks- fried tofu, basil popcorn chicken, and deep fried squid. You can add pepper salt powder or spicy powder. Sauces include sweet chili sauce, ketchup, and sriracha. I enjoyed all of them, but the chicken was the best. The pieces were meaty and flavorful. Prices are very good with drinks being under $4. We tried the traditional milk tea with boba and got a nice tea and soft boba with good chew. I'm sure quite a few people are excited to have T4 U here in Sacramento. It's definitely a legit name in the boba tea world. The menu has quite a few options, options that many places don't have. The variety is nice as there are many exciting options to try. As it was my first time, I wanted to give their standard Earl Grey milk tea a try. My first impression was that the drink was a bit too sweet. My friend who we came with told us that the drinks were on the sweeter side so he had ordered his to a lower level of sweetness. It's great that you can do that, but in my opinion the base sweetness is just too high. We also got a fruit tea... and its sweetness was off the charts! We couldn't finish it because it was too cloyingly sweet for us. Aside from the sweetness - which we'll adjust accordingly next time - the boba was nice in terms of texture and chewiness and the flavors were solid. In terms of food, we ordered both the popcorn chicken and the fries. The popcorn chicken was nothing special. The breading wasn't very crispy - just a middle of the road food item. The fries were crinkle cut, thick, and seasoned with pepper. They were also very middle of the road as well. Neither item stood out in any way. I really wanted to like this place more. Being born and raised in San Francisco where there is an abundance of boba places, i can easily say that I'm a boba addict. Now for drinks that I ordered: a green tea latte with boba for me and a taro milk tea with boba for the bf. The matcha latte was good in my opinion because I could actually taste the matcha!! Usually when I order matcha flavored drinks at boba places, I can't really taste it. As I said earlier, being born and raised in sf where there are so many boba places around, the bf's taro milk tea didn't stand out to me. Tasted pretty standard. But the boba itself was cooked very well. Not overly cooked to the point where it's soft and tastes like mush in your mouth and not undercooked to where it's hard. It was just the right amount of chewiness. Both of us got 30% sweetness level and it still tasted pretty sweet. So if you don't like your drinks to be overly sweet, opt for one of the lower levels of sweetness. Only thing I would change about my order would be to get less ice next time. The regular size isn't that big and I felt like most of my drink was ice. Minus one star for the wait time. Ordered with no one in front of us and everyone there already had their drink. Came in and ordered about 10 mins before closing on 1/5/16. The girl taking our orders got it all correct: 2 reg brown sugar iced milks (not to be confused with the brown sugar icy milks at Black & White and Meow Meow Cafe in Los Angeles county) and one reg Okinawa milk tea (can't adjust the sweetness) with mango pudding and 0% ice. You can choose the percentage of ice in drinks. Only in our case, it was pointless. Despite the label clearly saying "0% ICE" it was filled with cubed ice. They must've read it as "100% ICE, PLEASE. LAY IT ON." I tipped the girl for doing her job right, though. I also tipped the guy staff who ran into the single restroom to do damage control of a clogged toilet. Some little Filipino (?) guy just strolled out of that bathroom after he left the toilet overflowing onto the floor. For me to walk in after him and promptly try not to think about what I just stepped into. That said, despite the one drink being done wrong, and the brown sugar ice milk not being blended with syrup & pudding like it's "Icy milk" cousin in LA, it was pretty good. Very watery and tasteless towards the tail end, though, so get it with less/no ice. The brown sugar flavor is good, however. The Okinawa milk is very floral, with a jasmine flavor. Tonight I was helped by Alexia and she has changed my outlook on the service here. She's super sweet and pleasant to talk to. Drinks are great here. Drinks deserve a 4 maybe even 5 stars. My first couple times here the service was subpar. The manager or higher staff looked irritated with the person in training and was not discrete about it at all. So embarrassing for the new employee and looks so distasteful. Alexia should stay near the front and be the face of the location or help whoever is in front in case they leave another bad taste for other newcomers. My old go to place served their drinks with simple sugar made with real cane sugar and none of this fructose syrup nonsense. So I ventured into this T4 location on an early weekday evening for the first time. It is located in the shopping center with Raleys. The place was blasting hip hop pop music, several teens were hanging out enjoying their drinks. It seemed like a great local neighborhood hangout for teens. But suitable for all ages as well as families with young children. Since this was my first ever visit to a T4, I asked the gal working the counter some questions. I am a novice bubble tea drinker, not at all versed on the level of ice and sweetness. To tell you the truth, I find it confusing and still do. T4 uses fructose syrup and this location can not make their drinks substituting simple syrup. The sweet gal did let me know the four tea drinks that they make without fructose. However the Thai milk tea, which I was hankering, was not one of them. So I choose a iced green tea instead and added pearls for an additional cost. It was tasty, quite refreshing. The pearls (tapioca) were soft and chewy, fresh. T4's drink menu was very extensive, quite impressive. They also sell snack type foods like egg puffs, popcorn chicken, fried calamari, Asian sticky buns, tea eggs, and fried tofu. I also ordered food. I ordered boiled tea eggs. It had a smoky smell and deep smoky tea taste that I liked. It was my first ever tea seeped boiled egg. The cool thing was the look of the egg after I peeled it. It had brown lines due to them cracking the shell a bit to allow the tea to seep in. Plus I ordered egg puffs. Eggs puffs are cooked like waffles with small hollow bubbles. Just stopped in to grab a drink for the first time and I'll definitely be back! The drink was great but it's the customer service that will keep me coming back! The person at the register was so kind and happily answered all my questions even after I paid and was just curious about the menu. Can't wait to try their food! read more
