Updating my rating. Even though the chicken tikka masala doesn't taste the same anymore. The butter chicken is pretty decent and I do like the lamb vindaloo. The lamb can just be fatty. The vegetable samosas are also good and so is the mango lassi. My only thing would be the garlic naan has been both good and bad. Someone has given it to me burnt and another has given it to me where the garlic tasted undercooked so the garlic was very strong. read more

The food here is great. I never really tried Indian cuisine before coming here. However it is SPICY. They allow you to order different temperatures like mild medium and hot but they all taste SPICY. If your looking for traditional spicy Indian food this is your spot. read more

Ordered via DoorDash. They didn't include any cutlery and having just moved into my new place I didn't get have any silverware. When I called them to question why they weren''t included as requested a man argued with me that it was my fault because I should have called the restaurant to request it AFTER I placed my order. What? I always get silverware, but ironically never needed it....until now. Then I did realize I had packed a spoon with the cats food. (It was a clean human spoon for those of you who may wonder). The rice was blah and small grain. Not a basmati rice. Flavorless and somewhat dry. The chicken in the tikka masala didn't have that beautiful pinkish orange hue from being marinated, like all chicken tikka should be therefore the chicken pieces themselves were bland. The masala was almost chunky like the consistency of a marina sauce. The naan was unremarkable. If you can't get chicken tikka masala right I am not about to deep dive into the menu. We stopped here for lunch because my dining mate loves Indian food so we decided to try here. The restaurant was crowded and we were seated quickly. Glasses and a tall stainless steel pitcher was brought to the table. Dosa also brought to the table ( thin pancake crepe like item) which was a bit greasy. There was a large selection of different items to try but half of them I noted were fried such as pieces of chicken, fish and some appetizers etc. Most foods had no signs over the items so I was not sure if I was eating goat which I enjoy .That meat item was the least spicy for me but had lots of bones in the dish. Other less spicy items for me were the Tandoori chicken and chicken Korma and a paneer dish. All were tasty. Most of the food very spicy which my mate enjoyed but I did not. Even the mulligatawny soup was too spicy for me. Desserts, I was not sure of, no kheer but a sweet liquid with sparse thin pasta throughout, then a fried ball that was very dry and I have not seen before. I tried it but it was not sweet and I did not like it. I do surmise the food was a regional Indian cusine which I was not use too. They had a mixed vegetable salad which was cooling to my palette and a variety of sauces for salads etc. My mate probably would return here, I would not . I have enjoyed other Indian restaurants better because I enjoy other combination flavor profiles, different regional dishes and less fried food items. read more

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in all of the Charlotte area. The flavors are layers without all the heat. Don't get me wrong I can take some heat. This is a fantastic, authentic Biryani place in suburban Charlotte. There are other indian restaurants that may do a better job of the usual chicken tikka masala sorta fare. Then there are speciality restaurants that one can rely on for just the right spices and flavors that almost take someone to the region where such food is local. Tabla is one such restaurant. This recommendation is based on a few take-outs. I have not dined in yet, but I look forward to. Biryani: *Any* of the biryanis here are fantastic. Made with the right spices, they don't just burn your tongue with spices, but strike the right balance between the various flavors. Lamb chops: The best preparation of lamb chops, the meat was juicy, the marinade was perfect Gobi Manchurian: Good appetizer, goes well with the theme Service: Cheerful, prompt. I overheard the staff suggesting dishes as well as spice level to suit the audience. I call this place "Biryani heaven" and I mean it. My favorite menu item is biryani but the other items I have tried are great too. I have tried rajwada and chicken dum biryani and the meat was so well seasoned and tender that it leaves you wanting for more. I have tried the paneer 65 which was spicy and tasty and the paneer makhni is delicious too. The owner Mangesh is a very friendly guy and is doing a great job in running this establishment. I requested to make my dish mild but was told they can't do that. Seems like it's already pre-cooked and cannot change the level of spiciness. I eat a lot of Indian food and on my visit to Charlotte this was closest to the hotel. First I ordered online and it told me to pick up at 5:30 PM. We ordered two meals both mild although I usually prefer mine medium but because we were sharing meals I decided to get mild as well. But let me tell you, it was so SPICY HOT neither one of us could eat it. We actually tried to put some yogurt in it and then we tried some sour cream, but it was still extremely spicy so we just end up throwing it away. I can see making a mistake on one dish but on two different dishes - so I am assuming their food is normally this insanely spicy. My other issue is upon arrival they told me my food was not ready. I sat there for 10 more minutes staring at a large bag on the shelf and come to find out it was mine. I feel like they could've apologized. read more

Ordered online for pick up. Pros- online ordering was easy, was able to pay in store. Food was pretty good (ordered goat, chicken, palak paneer, and jalfrezi veggies). The chicken was tender and the goat was very flavorful. The veggies were also very very good. Cons- portion size! The goat is $15.99 and the portion was SMALL! Quantities of everything was very small compared to heavy prices (cheapest thing was $12). We have eaten here in store and ordered 3 things for 4 people and had plenty to eat and would have leftovers. Today, ordered 4 things for 4 people and everything was finished and not as satisfied. Palak paneer was very salty. The flavor was unique, but salty. We also ordered a bread basket. I understand that with pick up, you can't expect the naan and roti to be hot but it was very tough and chewy and over cooked. I also waited in the store for ~10 minutes extra and the bread was already packed while everything else was still being cooked. Overall- the food taste is GOOD (except the salt in the paneer). But it's expensive for the portion sizes, especially when you compare to what you get in store! read more

Ordered through UberEats, Never ever going to try again! Worst Goat Biryani, I can think in long time. No spice, almost dried and blacked goat meat, probably due to reheating again and again! It felt like eating Pulao than Biryani! Butter Chicken: Don't even have a word because it wasn't remotely close to Butter chicken. I can cook a better chicken even when I am drunk! Instead of golden color and typical test; gravy tested somewhere a combination of Rasam, sambhar, Tomoto gravy! maybe it had curry leaves too! I can't comment on other foods but one should avoid if you ever thinking of trying usual north Indian cousins. My son and I went here for the first time today. I had the lunch special, and he had the lamb curry. Both were excellent. Truly some of the best Indian food either of us have ever had. Worst food ever. Biriyani became very worst in this location. raitha looks like white water. Onions on chilly chicken was rotten. Naan was taken from lunch buffet and heated and served. I think the ownership is changed ? The cashier was rude and charged 18% gratuity and argues its a law. I can pay 25% as tips if i like the service but here i feel i am snatched. We are only 4 adults, totally disappointed by the food and your service.The worst experience ever on a Indian restaurant. Even on a Friday evening there are only 2 tables are occupied. We had catered food from tabla resturant for my son's birthday event. Food was excellent and tasty. EVERYONE in the event APPRECIATED and LIKED the food. Appetizers chicken 555 was juicy and fantastic. Baby corn Manchurian and Paneer butter masala was awesome. Naan was soft. Chicken chettinad and goat(soft and very well cooked) curry was spiced up perfect and tasty. Best Vijayawada biriyani I had so far, it was the highlight( it got over). Gajjar halwa was sugared perfect. Veg biriyani was tasty as well. Manjesh from resturant helped me in ordering the right quantity based on the people count. Riju was very helpful and very welcoming at the resturant. I would strongly recommend anyone to confidently to go with catering order. read more

Update: Ordered a huge spread last night from here. We had 2 Chicken Tikka Masala's , a half of a Tandoori Chicken , Dal Makani .also the Gobi Manchurian which is my very favorite! About 4 different kinds of breads the only thing was it was delivery and we did not get any of the chutneys or condiments. Which I did miss ! The food is spot on, very good and very authentic! I gave this place 3 chances to impress me & it failed terribly. 1. First time was when I went for a lunch buffet with my office team and they merely had 6-7 items with all the naans gone. No one was there to refill or to take out our used plates. 2. Couple of weeks later, I thought of giving their biryanis a try and got togo family biryani which was okay, not extra ordinary..just like any other normal biryani.. Not worth the hype !! 3. Lastly, we were getting back at night from a road trip & wanted to have some Indian food so ordered a togo. When I called, the waiter told me there was nothing left except few curries & bread so I ordered 1 curry & naans at 8.30 pm(they said it'll take 30 mins), went to pick up at 9.20 and they said they have no clue about our order. So this was the worst experience. I think this place is highly overrated and people visit it because it close to ballentyne & indian land. This place is good. Like, really good. We had the goat biryani that was delicious. In fact, I think biryani is what they are known for... So you probably can't go wrong with any of them.
