The place looked nice when I walked in, but I soon became extremely disappointed. After being seated, we had to wait a while for the guy, who was not friendly when we walked in or when we sat down, to even bring some water. I ordered risotto riceballs as an appetizer. It took an extremely long time for them to come out. The breading was nice on it, but it was mostly melted cheese and not that much risotto. The tomato sauce with it was pretty good. After ordering my app, I realized my napkin had something super sticky (almost like a glue) on it that it couldn't even open the napkin. I was trying to get the guy's attention but he had disappeared until the app was ready. I ended up having to get up and getting a new one from another table. During the course of my meal, there were flies flying around the table and near the food. I ordered the penne vodka as an entree. The pasta was cooked well but the sauce had zero flavor and definitely didn't taste like a typical vodka sauce. Then as I'm drinking the water I noticed several small pieces of plastic inside the glass. I don't know if it was in the water, came from the water pitcher or the actual glass. By then I was so turned off by everything I decided to just leave. The only positive thing is there is both metered and non-metered spots in the area so plenty of parking. Lunch specials are solid. Sandwiches are so big that you can eat them for lunch AND dinner. The service is friendly and home like. Kinda feels like your visiting your family with that one aunt who makes better food than your mom and she knows it! Communion Party I do not know where to start. From the beginning I guess. From the time that we began planing the party, until the big day finally came and went, everything was excellent. Christine helped make the party come alive and made our family feel so special. She thought of every thing to make it all come together. The food was excellent! Thank you Laurel and Kurt, the chefs who not only made the food but who were there checking in with us throughout the party to helping to make the day perfect and made us feel like family. The food just kept coming! No one left with an empty tummy! Table 21 is a neighborhood restaurant, but with the ability to a GREAT party venue. We danced from start to finish it all went by so fast. Table 21 is a hidden gem on the other side of the Astoria border, situated within a few miles of LaGuardia Airport. Unless you know the area of East Elmhurst, then Table 21 -which is so far off the beaten path on the upper end of 21st Ave- would be unknown to most New Yorkers and tourists. In fact, we only spotted them because of a prior trip to Piu Bella, which is a little further up. The restaurant offers Italian and Medditerean cuisine, and upon entering, we settled down to eat a flank steak and the house's special pasta (ravioli). The food was delicious and properly portioned. Table 21 has an Italian-American charm with pictures of the old world and a large centerpiece clock.. We found the waitress knowledgeable and able to offer such suggestions. We also asked her if she was familiar with any of the Astoria social media groups. She replied that her boss kept her away from most of them, esp GUA!. Met friends there on a Friday night. There just so happened to be karaoke that evening. Normally Karaoke is for dive bars not an italian restaurant. Had we known prior, we would have skipped this place. This was definitely of sign of things to come. It was obnoxiously loud, typical bad singers who can't hold a note. We had to shout across our table just so we could attempt to converse. The calamari we had was not crispy and was served with a vodka sauce which everyone thought was watery and gross. The pizza was decent, nothing special. The service was just terrible. The server took our order and went missing for awhile. She forgot a few things on our order and we didn't even want them after. My girlfriend had to call the busboy many times just to pick up our dirty dishes that were clearly piled at the end of the table and for napkins. I felt like I was at Applebees.......... read more

Had my baby shower here and could not have had a better experience. From the staff to the food, everything was outstanding. My guests could not stop raving about the food. Went for lunch..first of all ample free parking all over. Place was very clean and pretty inside. Our waitress Francesca was very friendly and outgoing! They had a fabulous lunch special...choice of 3 starters my daughter had arugula salad. Lil small but good. I had lentil soup which was delicious there was also zucchini sticks and possibly one other option For entrees eggplant parm with pasta which was delicious-salmon and spinach w potatoes also very good. What an unexpected gem this place is! I live in another part of Astoria...closer to Ditmars & Steinway, and where there are many great options for dining. However, every now and then, I like to go for a nice walk, meandering down the various residential streets in the area. I try out a new route each time, but often find myself down by the area where Table 21 is located. And I would often think 'gee...maybe for fun, a friend and I should make a special trip here, on one of our walks, and try out this restaurant'. Well tonight was that night, and we both were so glad we tried this place. We each got a glass of red wine, shared a Caesar salad, eggplant parm (tender, and sliced thin...just how I like it!), chicken parm, homemade tiramisu and cappuccino. Well....everything was really Delicious (...even their complimentary bread basket, and which included two mini 'pizzas' which we both remarked had a perfectly crispy crust). The decor is very nice and warm, and our waitress was Excellent...attentive, but not intrusive...and very professional, yet friendly. I was visiting NY with my mother for the US Open. The hotel we were staying at was certainly close to the tennis What it wasn't close to were restaurants. Yelp refered us to Table 21... Great Italian food and great service. We decided to go, I'm not one for writing reviews but this place was so good I needed to. Upon arriving, we were immediately welcomed by one of the coolest, friendliest most attentive waitresses ever! Francesca who was not only our waitress but also our bartender. Did a fantastic job at keeping us and several other tables happy and entertained with her humor. Calamari (cooked perfectly) and meatball appetizers were delicious. Followed by a delicious, hearty CAVATELLI "COSTOLA CORTA" my mother settled for the ROMAN ARTICHOKES and was impressed with the unique presentation and of course it's incredible flavor. All in all, this place located in an unassuming location turned out to be a great decision for it's amazing dishes, great drinks and Francesca upbeat, contagious personality. read more

A gem!! Stumble upon Table 21 after declining another restaurant nearby. The perfect spot with a lovely atmosphere, delicious food and fantastic service. I'm Marti and I ordered thanksgiving turkey dinner (8 individual plates) with Pumpkin Pie for dessert. Francesa (at Table 21) told me she would not charge me tax if I paid her in cash so I figured great! well, the food was AWFUL the sweet potato mash was not edible and i love sweet potatoe mash. it tasted as if someone put in lemon or orange zest. i mean who would ruin it like that? well table 21 did. and the turkey?? no turkey!! the turkey was deli slices. (probably from antionio's their deli next door.) so each plate had 2 slices of deli turkey rolled vith some disgusting stuffing. the regular white potato mash had no taste, just watery. francesca did give me an entire pumpkin pie (the had those brought in from a bakery) she said an extra pie was delivered. and sauteed spinach......alot, alot of garlic but maybe some people like it like that. i am a good cook and have been told as much by many but i had been feeling ill so was not up to the task. i was embarrassed, no one like the food, especially me. i threw my plate out after a few bites. never ever again table 21. btw: tell me.....who was cooking on wednesday the 23rd ??? read more

This is our 4th time at Table 21 since November. Food is great and service is even better. Honey always gets the arborio encrusted salmon while I order different dishes each time: Orrechiette Foresta, Arugula Salad, Grilled Skirt Steak, Lobster Bisque, Fried Calamary and Eggplant Parmigiana with Penne Pasta. They were all delicious specially the complimentary bread, nice and warm. The only odd thing tonight was being seated in a tiny and very wobbly table next to a column when the dining room was empty except by one other table. I had to move the table a little to avoid hitting it with my elbow and our server fixed the wobbliness quickly. Also, it seems that there is new ownership or new management since they are having a special opening celebration Tomorrow from 5 pm to 10 pm. And, the lady that greeted us so warmly each time with a welcome back and chat with us was missing. Nevertheless, we hope to be back soon and try more dishes! read more

If you're planning to host a larger event or party DO NOT do it here. I hosted my son's Baptism here and the service I received was terrible. Their portions were tiny and there was barely enough food to feed everyone even after adding on additional appetizer platters, and being assured time and again that there would be more than enough food. I was also missing an appetizer that I was promised. When I told the chefs about the small amount of appetizers, he told me he was told to serve one platter per table. When I later spoke with the woman that organized the party for us, she told me the chefs make the executive decision on what to serve. The salad, pasta, and entrees were also tiny portions. No one was available to take drink orders until an hour after the party started and there was not enough staff for the number of people I had. I was told guests would be able to order drinks with the servers, then told during the party that they need to go to the bar outside of the room. I had 65 adult guests so I thought this was ridiculous. Cake, pastries, and coffee were served after the time the party was supposed to end and coffee was cold and served after dessert. Not only was the room not ready until after the party's start time, but tables were disorganized and not the way we'd discussed. Extremely disappointed and will never be coming back. I came here before for parties when it was called Antonio's and service was much better. Instead of enjoying my time, my husband and I had to chase down staff. read more
