The breakfast here is delicious and the service from Sergio and Brittany was amazing!! I highly recommend that you try this place out!

We stopped in for after dinner drinks. Tried a new cocktail recommend by a friend called a Kentucky Mule. Love a bar that makes it all. I am a fan of this place. Quiet enough for conversation but not so quiet that everyone can hear your conversation. Like that there is a nice and laid back bar in the hotel (Indigo) and I loved the water fall wall between the cocktail - dining area and the lobby. Gives it a nice ambiance. Will be back. read more

This is not a 5 or 4 star restaurant. This is a cool looking bar with average drinks and so so food. Nestled on the ground floor of the Indigo boutique hotel. A very modern look everywhere, screams boutique with the iPads and iMacs and fancy iLighting. Some of the bigger tables are kind of cool looking with lit table tops but are awkward to sit at that height and eat. This seems like a great place to grab a drink and enjoy the night breeze, they have huge windows that open up to the street. Drinks are OK, nothing to write home about. Huge bar. Food is not special at all. If they were to put some of the effort from the interior design into upgrading their menu, it might be a good idea. Filet Mignon had fatty gristle on the side. I've never had a rare filet that tasted so dry. Sangria tasted like it came from a grocery store. Wine list is mediocre. If I were to ever stay at the hotel, I'm sure I would eat here again and give it another chance. Other than that, I'll go back to stuff that I know is good for a good price. read more

After walking our dog, we decided to stop in the bar for a little happy hour love. Jason H., our bartender, was super helpful in picking out a drink for my bf since I'm not big on cocktails (happy hour Thursday was half off cocktails) We tried their 3 strikes bourbon (something like that), wasn't bad for my taste. Rather than an olive, there was a skewered jalapeno on the toothpick so the drink would have a kick. I went to San Diego for work and was placed in Hotel Indigo. At first, when looking on the map and seeing where the hotel was located compared to the hotels that were closer to the convention center, I was worried it would be too far away. Now, after the stay is complete, I consider myself lucky!! First, this hotel is bright and cheery. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure you have everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Same goes for the bar/restaurant, Table 509. The bartenders/servers Adriana, William, Ish- all of them- make you feel welcome, take the time to listen to what you like and make the best drink recommendations based on what you offer up. Love that! Now, to compare this hotel to say, Hard Rock, near the convention center is almost unfair! It's literally like night and day. Also, any hotel near the convention center deals with the trolley and train ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT! I can't tell you how many of my colleagues had sleepless nights because of that alone! Other great things to note about Hotel Indigo are that it's pet-friendly (although I only saw dogs), they have great specials throughout the week, and the stadium (Petco Park) is just a block away! They also have a great rooftop deck facing the stadium, but it wasn't open yet- too bad because I love sitting outside. They do offer valet parking for $35 a day but there is street parking available some times, too, just beware you're on the right side due to street cleaning! (San Diego is so clean!) All in all- a wonderful spot. I was on the 10th floor- the room was spacious and cheery! The beds are super comfy (four pillows to each bed and they are soooo soft and fluffy!) They don't always get the shampoo/conditioner/coffee stocked consistently, but that can be fixed by making a simple call down to the front desk. Room Tip: I would ask about any available upgrades. My bf and I were staying at the Hotel Indigo and it just happened to be Valentine's Day. We hadn't made reservations for dinner because we decided to just "wing it" and be spontaneous. We decided to check out the menu at Table 509 because it was in the lobby of the hotel we were staying at. Because it was Valentine's Day, they had a special Valentine's Day Prix Fixe Menu for couples. The menu selection looked good so we decided to check it out. We both started out with a glass of wine. Our first course was a complimentary shrimp with risotto appetizer. This was followed by a wedge salad with cherry tomatoes, sweet bacon and blue cheese dressing. We both selected the potato wrapped halibut as our main course and we finished off our Valentine's Day dinner with a delicious chocolate mousse cake and ice cream with this delicious fruit topping. We could tell the chef took great pride in each dish because every course was very delicious and cooked to perfection and, the presentation of everything from the appetizer to the dessert was aesthetically pleasing. The 509 is a trendy little spot in the lobby of the Hotel Indigo. Not a huge selection of food on the menu, but I ordered every appetizer on the menu and several of their entrees/breakfasts and enjoyed just about all of it. The calamari was crispy, with a nice breading and some sort of jalapeno sauce which gave it a nice flavor and kick. The garlic fries were also very good and paired well with most of their alcoholic beverages. Their drinks were pricey (about $10) and did not contain as much alcohol as I would like, but were nonetheless refreshing and hit the spot on a warm day. The place itself is nicely laid out. It has huge windows that open up, which makes for a nice, cool, breezy, relaxing atmosphere. The bartenders/waiters were always very friendly and personable which bumped my rating up to a four. Even over a Fourth of July weekend the place was not too busy. Great spot to stop by and have a drink, along with an appetizer. read more

I was having a tough day, helped me and offered the most sincere service. And even came to drop something off at my room. Just a good all around person. Table 509 is located in the amazing Indigo Hotel. The staff is great! Amanda who waited on me twice over 2 separate days was absolutely amazing and very attentive. Plus she can make a killer drink!!!!! I spent several morning breakfast's here, plus a few times drinking during my stay at the Indigo. I highly recommend the breakfast croissant or bagel sandwich. Were staying at the hotel and originally planned on going on a brunch date with my girlfriend at mission. Knowing how impatient we both were, we didnt feel like waiting 40 minutes to eat waffles. So after walking through the ghettos of SD and after making a pit stop at 711 we ended back at the hotel bar. We started with the green tea lemonade vodka and the summer sangria. The summer sangria pretty good but green tea vodka was delicious an fought over by the both of us. We then got the avocado hummus recommended by our bartender Michael and it was amazing! Also got the margarita flatbread and indigo burger. Both not as good as expected. When I told my girlfriend it was time to leave she didn't want to. I had one drink at the bar, the wedge of lemon was super old and it looked like it had been through a lot before making it to the top of my margarita glass. Tossed the lemon, enjoyed the drink and moved up to level 9. I don't believe poor Lewis at the bar upstairs was ready for a large group. He was so nice and so professional but really all on his own, he was five stars and he handled the crowd to the best of his ability. Great view, good drink menu. We ordered: Calamari, margarita flat bread, fish tacos and chipotle wings. I would not recommend eating dinner here, there is only a bar food menu and the food didn't seem fresh. My least favorite - Margarita flat bread which I suspect is previously frozen. The calamari was rubbery and covered in a deep fried thick breading. Excellent place for a drink and view, not for food. So we were actually on the rooftop of the hotel. But I couldn't find it on yelp. Not sure I would stay at this hotel again but that's another story. It wasn't terrible but it's the little things. In regards to the rooftop restaurant on the 9th floor, I thought the view and ambiance were beautiful. Great atmosphere. Good customer service too! And even though I don't drink alcohol my friend said their drinks were pretty good. In regards to the food, not at all impressed. The food wasn't even hotel worthy. Especially for the price. I don't mind paying $15 for a burger but it should be better than McDonald's. In fact Carl's Jr. Has better burgers than this place. Not trying to be mean just direct. We also had a few appetizers. The food here is 3-stars but the service is 5-star. The staff here works very hard at making you feel welcome. I usually have meetings here for school purposes and the staff usually never charges us if we only ordered sodas. Also TJSL students get a 20% discount with their ID. One of our favorite places in all of downtown San Diego, this is the perfect way to start your night. Grab a quick dinner and some reasonably priced drinks, and you're all set. They just revamped their menu, and it's an enormous improvement. They stopped serving bar food, and have started serving actual meals. Love this place!!! OK first off I am a little biased. We live across the street at The Mark so it is so easy to just come over and have a drink and a bite to eat. But there are some things that make it really stand out. First off super dog friendly, we went over to watch the super bowl and took our Cavalier with us. I brought his blanket and placed it on the bench next to me where he laid and slept thru almost the entire game. The food has always been good. They do not have an extensive menu, but what they offer is good. For the Super Bowl they did up a special menu in addition to there regular menu. The Wings and Chicken Nachos were great!!! Drinks are always great and staff is always attentive but give you your space. They also offer special Prix fix menus for Holidays, so if you are not into cooking check them out, and remember your pooch is always welcome!! read more

The first time we came here a year ago. It was a very nice experience. However today was a terrible experience. First we stood at the reception area for 5 Mins and no one cares, the. We had to ask for the menu ourselves. Finally we had to go to the bar and grab someone to take our orders. That guy's name Sergio was rude and after we complained, he purposefully ignored is and didn't even bring in the coffee we ordered. This place was amazing and our group had a great time. I called two weeks in advance to reserve a table for 15 for a couple bachelor/bachelorette party. They were great. Three days before I called to say our numbers went from 15 to 26. They had no issues accommodating us. We got there and it was ready for us. Our server was the BEST! We were surprised to only have one server for our whole table, but it was all we needed. He was on top of needs before we could have asked for them. Drinks and food both came out in timely manner. We did try and order one thing on the menu that they were out of, but they recommended a different item and it was good. We can't thank the staff enough for helping us celebrate. This is a great restaurant/bar, not highly priced, good food portions, good drink variety and beautiful location. 5/5 stars from us! read more

Stayed recently at Hotel Indigo for a weekend with friends. Loved this hotel! But even better than the hotel was the restaurant and bar on the roof. It has a fantastic view of downtown and the baseball stadium. Also there is a cute talented bartender that works up there named William. He made me this new drink called a Rye Mule, it was so yummy! I can't wait to go back to San Diego so I can stay here again and visit my favorite SD bartender! read more

Came here for dinner at 7:30pm and the place was not crowded (probably due to the holidays). Super friendly staff and literally everything is amazing. I highly recommend splitting the flatbread and going for drinks (cranberry pear fizz was my fave). After dinner, the gaslamp bars and clubs are just a few blocks away! read more
