Solid pizza...friendly staff...efficient service. Great quick option in Industry City. Fair prices given the other options in the immediate area.

A piece of burrata cheese zoomed in
    Nancy A.

I agree with some reviews on the pricing and the temperature of the pizza. I paid $6 for a slice of burrata cheese and I know it was because of the burrata cheese. I must admit the size of the slice is bigger than standard size but c'mon I did not think it would cost me $6! They also did not list the prices of each slice anywhere. I just saw the beer list and that is all! Well I did come in here because I was hungry and what easy way to get rid of your hunger other than pizza?!? There was also not much to choose from behind the glass. I didn't see much selection going on. Well anyways, I chewed the burrata to see if it's good and it was alright. It tasted weird and not the right consistency. It wasn't soft enough and kind of a bit tough! The slice was very thin too and did not really win my stomach. It was just to beat my hunger.

We didn't try the pizza, but their happy hour from 4pm to close on weekdays is an amazing deal! We even ordered 5 minutes early and the worker was so kind to charge us when it turned 4pm as we sipped on the beer. For happy hour, it's only $5 while regular pricing is $9. The employees here seem very happy, which is always nice to see.

    Pepperoni Slice

Solid slices and nice service but, in general, pizza could do no wrong in my book. I was hangry so got two slices. Loved the pepperoni slice! However, it was a floppy pizza so a bit challenging to eat. Very cheesy (a plus!) and greasy, not too much sauce and a good amount of pepperonis. Wished the dough would have been crispy and the pizza just a bit hotter (one had just come out of the coal oven and the other was warmed up but even still...). The Margherita slice was very mild in taste even with the fresh basil (and a hot honey add on!). I think I just needed a more equal cheese to sauce ratio in this slice. Would definitely give them another try if I'm in IC but wouldn't go out of my way to have.

Pepperoni slice and underneath burrata slice

Stopped in for a quick bite while visiting industry city. Had a pepperoni slice, and two burrata slices. Loved each, for their own individual flavors. Although both are good, I would probably go for the burrata first next time. Staff was super helpful, service was quick. High-quality ingredients, nice crispy crust. Not excessive on the oil either, which is important to me. Will be back!

Came here since it got late and the bbq place I wanted to go was sold out. The pizza looked good. But once we got it. Was pretty disappointing. The staff the front you can tell he did not enjoy his job. Just took orders not that friendly. Got a margarita pizza and I had to say can you put on basil. Like how do you have margarita without basil on it. . Def not coming back here again. The food was terrible nor was it good. It just looked better then it taste.

    12.00 sangria no ice

Rude employee - angry man that needs a vacation apparently Mediocre slices - mine clearly sat and they added toppings on and it was served lukewarm warm Very expensive 'sangria'-a small glass no I've tasted like nasty spoiled church wine What a waste of money Sadly this location is horrendous The three stars is for the nice owner Rob and his family- You can't be around all the time- but maybe staff needs to take a training in customer service Go to the main locations if you want quality

The leaves were not fresh, but were sitting inside a refrigerator for a whole week.

I visited this restaurant with my family and we had a horrible experience. My daughter ordered a Caesar salad and the leaves in the salad were spoiled. There was even mold in some of the leaves. On top of the dad, the restaurant did not have any forks available, so we had to walk inside of another place to grab a fork. The salad tasted so bad, that my daughter was no even able to finish eating it. It had a terrible and chewy texture. The leaves were rotten and some of them had a brownish color. The chicken also tasted weird and the croutons included were sludgy and watery. Because of a label on the container that had a date, I was able to figure out that the salad had been sitting inside the restaurant's refrigerator for an entire week. To make matters worse, the server had a very nasty and confrontational attitude and refused to give us a fresh salad as a replacement. He also did not want to reimburse us for the money spent on the salad. According to him, there was nothing wrong with it. I asked him if I can speak with his supervisor, but he ignored me. My daughter and I tried some of the salad, but after eating it, about an hour later, we started to have nausea and feeling like throwing up. We even had to go to bathroom because of diarrhea. Because of this, I am only giving this review only one star review. If you go to this restaurant, avoid the salads at all cost. The server's attitude was also uncalled for. Very rude, confrontational and unpleasant.

    Margherita Slice
    Mei C.

Maybe I was hungry, but my slice of Margherita pizza was really yummy. The dough was thin and the sauce was perfectly tangy. The counter person could've heated the pizza a little longer; prefer my slice to be warm and crispy. This location is located within IC so there's plenty of seating inside the food-hall. During my visit, there weren't a lot of customers so I was able to place my order quickly. Overall, a good slice of pizza at this location cost $5

    Yuna C.

While there were a ton of different food options at Industry City, we sought here for a simple thin crust slice and they delivered. The thin crust and melty cheese was divine - not to mention the hot oil from the pepperonis and rich earthiness of the basil.

    Burrata slice
    Laura C.

The guy at the counter is too cool for school? Or is he so nonchalant that he moves in slow motion? Whatever his issue is, he is a turnoff to customers. The 2 guys making the pizza greated the customers with a cheerful hello and appeared to be happy. I got the burrata slice, even though the counter - cashier guy put it in the oven to heat up it was mildly warm when he pulled it out. The dough was not crispy but floppy. If I closed my eyes and took a bite I would not be able to tell if it had any tomato sauce on it, that's how little flavor it had. The only saving grace was the burrata and the one piece of basil. There are too many other better food opportunities in Industry City to spend your money at instead of this place.

    Jenn B.

Decent pizza. Good cheese pull. Not the best I've had but satisfied the craving. Super greasy. They seem to only have one set of seasonings-so use it and be sure to put it back otherwise you'll be reprimanded by one of the rude employees. :) Seems cool that you can buy packaged pies and warm them at home.

    Wild Mushroom & Truffle Oil
    Kevin C.

My friend and I have passed by this place all the time whenever we explored Industry City. Finally today I decided to give it a try. We ordered the wild mushroom & truffle oil 12". It took about 10 minutes til it was ready. Immediately after opening the box, it looked unappetizing after not a hint of truffle oil either in sight or smell. After trying a bite, there was literally no taste of truffle oil. The only good thing about the pizza was that they used fresh mushrooms and the crust and dough were cooked almost perfectly and had a thin crispy crust. The tomato sauce was okay and the fresh mozzarella was just okay too, got some good cheese pulls. Not worth the $20 spent but it was an okay pizza.

It is definitely the best pizza in the US; I say this even after visiting Frank Pepe and Sally's in New Haven, and it's honestly not even close. On our last day before heading back to SF, we ordered a massive whole pie: half burrata, half pepperoni. It nailed the classic NYC slice with a thin, crisp crust and the perfect balance of cheese and sauce. It was so good that my daughter finished her burrata half over three separate sittings: at the shop, on the plane, and once she got home. The pie just kept calling to her! Be prepared for long lines, but it is worth it (and the Brooklyn location definitely has shorter lines than the Manhattan spots). It's not really a sit-down place, so you just have to grab a spot at the bar-top tables if you can find room. The service was good and fast. Situated at the corner of East 15th Street and Avenue J, the establishment was owned and managed by Domenico DeMarco (1936-2022), but now his family continues that legacy. Food critics and bloggers frequently rank it among the top pizzerias in New York City. Di Fara has received numerous accolades, including being named the "Best pizza in New York" by publications such as New York and Serious Eats. The New York Times described the restaurant as "one of the most acclaimed and sought-after pizza shops in New York City." In 2011, Zagat ranked it as the top pizza restaurant in the city, and in 2013, Frommer's called its pizza "the Best Hand-Made Pizza in New York City." Chef Anthony Bourdain also expressed admiration for the restaurant's pizza. I had long hoped to visit Di Fara, so I decided to make a trip from Connecticut. Upon entering, my son and I observed that it was quite busy. There is also a window for ordering, but we chose to go inside to order our food to experience the atmosphere fully. We each ordered a freshly prepared Sicilian slice. Unlike some places, there was no pre-made pizza on display. Each slice is made to order, and it takes about twenty-five minutes to prepare. When we received our pizza, it was notably greasy. The Sicilian slices resembled a full meal, topped with garlic and pepperoni. The garlic was quite prominent and flavorful, adding a nice punch which I liked. The pepperoni was crispy, and the undercarriage had a nice crunch, though it was also quite oily. In my personal opinion, it wasn't the best slice I've ever tasted. However, I understand that when the owner, Dom, was alive, the pizza was considered exceptional by many. I would rate it around 3.5 stars, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to experience pizza from one of New York's most iconic establishments.

Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience.
