My girlfriend and I decided to go out for a nice dinner date and a chill Saturday evening, at a new restaurant I'd been eyeing for a while. It was a surprise to her where we were going, and I'm pretty good at new new and exciting places for us to visit and TableVine was without exception. We arrived to our reservation at exactly 7 pm and walked in to where we believed the hostess are was, which is right to the front as you walk through the door. We weren't exactly sure at first as there was a couple diners to our left and know one at the bar yet where the wine is also locations. But maybe a minute of two later a gentleman arrived who quickly greeted us and asked if it was our first time visiting, to which we both replied yes. Excited at having new guests he became more welcoming, and eventually sat us in a table for two that was surrounded by other guests and handed us both a menu and a drink menu as well. Another waiter came by shortly after and told us of the specials for the evening which weren't on the menu, and we took a few minutes to think about our meals. We started off with sparkling water, and complimentary bread and then ordered the roasted Brussels Sprouts with Chipotle Aioli as our appetizers. And my girlfriend ordered the duck breast for dinner and I order the lamb shanks from the night's special menu, and at the end of our meal we shared the winter fruit dessert (after some help from an older couple next to us, who'd had the same thing). Which was a mix of freshly baked apples and cranberries with a fresh whole oats crust. Because our host wanted us to have a truly great evening, he suggested a his/her drink to complement the dessert. Prior to receiving our dessert he'd ask us if we'd heard of ice wine (icewine), to which we both replied know; asking what it was. And he eagerly explained icewine is a type of dessert wine produced from grapes that have been frozen while still on the vine. The sugars and other dissolved solids do not freeze, but the water does, allowing for a more concentrated grape juice to develop. He then proceeded to bring my girlfriend a glass to try with dessert, to which first my girlfriend noted a sweet smell of something similar to a Lychee. And then tried it and was extremely pleased and asked me to try as well, which I did and was really surprised at its taste. As I'm not a wine person at all and haven't come across a wine I've like, but I actually really liked what we were given. After finishing our drinks our hostess asked if we liked it and we told him yes, and we seemed elated on the good selection and then proceeded to give us a little more history and where it was from. Overall my girlfriend loved her dinner and said it was the best duck she'd had, and she loved the wine selection. I really enjoyed all of our meals from appetizer to dessert, and the ambiance is very nice for a larger meal with family and or friends, to the smaller tables for something a little more intimate. read more

Um any place that has a dog that wanders around and says hi to guests gets a 5 star review from me! The restaurant has a very "homey" feel, everyone is nice and our server was very friendly! outstanding service and great food to match. My only complaint is that we ordered one of the specials and added salmon and didn't ask how much it would cost for the salmon (maybe that's on us) but it ended up being close to $50 (I believe it was something like $24 for the item then another $23 or $24 for the salmon) which I found to be a bit outrageous to be honest but aside from that it was a good experience read more

A lovely experience. I was in town for the day and decided to treat myself to an indulgent lunch. While I didn't have a reservation, they were able to seat me with no problem. Started with the mushroom and onion tart which was flavorful and flaky. Then I had the risotto with scallops. Scallops were cooked perfectly, tender and buttery. The risotto was rich and creamy. Absolutely adore this place. This place feels a lot like home because of how the tables were arranged, to the lighting and to the music being played. Service was excellent. The food overall was good. A little under season for our entrees we ordered: the duck confit and the salmon mushrooms. The duck was so juicy though, and not even dry! BRAVO, loved it and would come back for more. Loved my experience at Table Vine! My bf and I had dinner reservations for a Saturday night and were promptly seated at our arrival. Our waiter was very friendly and went over the menu and daily specials with us. We opted for the fried calamari as an appetizer, and salmon with roasted vegetables and scallop risotto as our entrees. Calamari was lightly battered and not too oily, and tasted great with their tangy sauce. Salmon and vegetables were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the scallop risotto was so good!! Scallop was perfectly seared, risotto wasn't too creamy. We had a bit of room for dessert so we tried their creme brulee. Wasn't too sweet for my taste, the custard was the right amount of creaminess, and the sugar crust was nicely torched, not too bitter. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it was one of our favorite dinners in Sacramento. Our total bill came out to around $76 before tip, which surprised us because it is such a good price for the quality of food we had. Our waiter checked in on us throughout the dinner and promptly cleared plates, gave us utensils for dessert, and filled our waters without us asking. 5/5 would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nicely priced, quality meal! read more

It was an experience I wouldn't mind repeating if in Sacramento. I'd suggest not driving if you don't have to. Parking in downtown Sac is about as pleasant as having someone step on your foot repeatedly. Sucks to start out and it usually doesn't get any better with time. Kinda fooled me- I would not have chosen this place as a "fine dining" joint. From the outside I really had no idea there was a restaurant in there. Dug the bread- asked the chef what it was and where they got it from. Told me it was "par baked" aka something I can purchase and do at home. Score. The calamari scored points even with the Monterey area resident at the table. As for dinner, I got the risotto with scallops and those were done just right. Creamy risotto was under the perfectly cooked scallops- brown crust on top and no gummy texture in the middle. Wine was expensive, but it's wine. It's going to be expensive. Deal with it, or pay the corkage fee for your own bottle. Bam- still expensive. Split a dessert between the three of us- perfect way to cap off the meal. read more

Guys, I am such a Foodie! Everywhere I travel I seek out farm to table type restaurants. This restaurant did not disappoint! I so appreciate quality ingredients that lead to succulent dishes that are memorable. For starters, the complimentary bread was fresh, soft and delicious. My main entrée was the duck confit...crispy skin, seasoned perfectly on a bed of cooked spinach and mashed potatoes with a demi reduction. Superb! The restaurant is tucked away in what looks like a residential type neighborhood. The ambiance is lovely and intimate with quaint wooden tables and soft lighting. The service was friendly, courteous and worth every penny spent. It was a treat to converse with one of the chefs who provided the history of the restaurant from their humble beginnings, surviving COVID, to where they are now. Menu, food, and service would have earned 5 Stars; however, they made an unfortunate, avoidable mistake in handling a food allergy. Starting with the positives... Lots of great food options! The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is so cute. Bonus points for having an NA beer on the menu! They knew it was my birthday, and they brought out a special dessert for me, too. It was delicious, and such a nice touch! Thank you! Now, the issue... Husband has a gluten allergy, which was communicated with the staff. Our server, who I believe was actually the owner, clearly knew the menu well and let us know that the menu was primarily gluten-free, as is. He assured us that he would also check our selections with the kitchen and make any necessary changes to accomodate Husband's gluten allergy. Unfortunately, that's not what happened; one of our dishes came out with a side dish that, unbeknownst to us, was made with a flour roux. After we'd had the plate for awhile and Husband had already started eating, we were informed that, actually, the side dish might have gluten, so Husband should not eat it. They brought out a gluten-free alternative immediately--but, unfortunately, it was too late at that point. Husband did end up getting sick from eating gluten, which put a damper on our evening. Mistakes happen, but this mistake absolutely did not need to and should not have happened. It was my bad that I didn't realize the steak was so fatty so if you're into that, they do it well, but my broccoli was like a garnish, three little florets. I was living for wanting more broccoli. I believe my wife and I were there on the same evening as Christine S below. Her review says 7/4 but we were actually there on the evening of 7/3 and we had a similar experience. We were celebrating our anniversary and arrived when they opened at 5:30 even though we had a 6:30 reservation and asked if we could be seated and they said let me check, it was empty except for I think Christine and here sig other. I decide don Table Vine after reading the reviews and seeing that Mulvaneys was booked since TableVine was within walking distance form our hotel. The evening started out really well with a couple of nice drinks ( I had a nice manhattan) and the cheese plate with delicious cheeses and real Marcona almonds - not regular almonds masquerading as such which is common. the 4 cheeses were good with the exception of the jalapeno american cheese which was way too hot and tasted processed. the irish cheddar, sonoma foghat(sp?), and blue cheese were all excellent. The pork Schnitzel was excellent and the Risoto and basil veggies for my wife was also quite good. The food is really at least 4 star. The problem was the service. IT started out well enough, but quickly deteriorated as a few more groups came in and the single waiter became completely overwhelmed. He was basically ignoring us by the time the main course was finished - luckily the owner/chef also came out to help but nothing helped the 2.5 hours we ended up having to stay to finish with creme brullee, seemingly straight from the refrigerator - a serious no no. The owner kept mentioning a crab louie to the tables he took orders from but we'd never heard this was a special from our waiter. Then after dinner we had to wait 15 minutes to order and another 15 minutes to receive the dessert. After a while we weren't sure who our waiter was and waited another 30 to get the bill. By this time our initial waiter was actively ignoring us. All in all this place has a great location and ambience but the execution was sorely lacking. I believe one family that came in without reservations ended up walking out without any food after being ignored for 30 minutes at their table. With a little more attention to service this could be a 4+ restaurant, until then, I think there are better options in the area. read more
