Second time trying Taco Bamba at the Rockville location and although service is fantastic, the food is so so. The salsas are great but the food itself is overly salty. If you want authentic Mexican tacos, you're better off going somewhere that is not franchised or a taco truck. This time around we opted to sit at the bar and service was quick and easy. Amazing place for tacos in Rockville. Their menu offers a wide selection of things, including a number of unique tacos like "Turkish Wrestler" (vegetarian taco featuring cauliflower) and "Moco Crab." I played it safe and got two traditional tacos (Birria and Carnitas), as well as the Taco Bamba (has skirt steak, chorizo, chicharron, and more). All were absolutely delicious! They were flavorful and not too messy to eat. I like how the tacos came with two tortillas. I also got to try some of my husband's Mulita de Birria (kind of like quesobirria quesadillas). Those were really good, although I wish it came with more birria broth/consomme. The Mexican street corn (elote) also tasted good. They also have a variety of sauces you can get on your own, but the ones considered hot weren't that spicy. Also, this place is casual -- you order at the front of the bar, get a beeper that tells you when your order is ready, and seat yourself. There was plenty of seating when I went there on a Sunday evening. I am definitely coming back to try some of the other unique tacos (tacos nuestros). read more

I typically go twice a week and last four times in a row, either toppings were skimped on, or contents of tacos were cold or overcooked/dry. Taco Bamba is real good! I had the carne asada tacos, al pastor nachos, the shrimp tacos, and the birria tacos..all tasty..but my faves are the shrimp and birria tacos. Ordering online was straightforward and easy..and pickup was efficient. I Like the empanadas but they don't offer it this location (as far as I know). The flavors of each taco meat is flavorful and the toppings are authentic..and you have the option to add whatever else you want on it. Parking is ok, as this location is in a shopping center. Holy HECC how did I rest on this place? Came here purely on a whim, and absolutely don't regret it! Despite being busy, service was fast! Finding a place to sit wasn't difficult either. Here's what we got: Torta Bamba $18: this humongous "burger" is filled with all sorts of veggies, meats, and guacamole. There's pork, chicken, sausage, ham, beef, avocado, tomato, veggies, black beans; you name it, and it's probably in there. The taste was amazing! My wife and I each had a half of the Bamba, and we were stuffed! Beef tongue and barbacoa taco $3.5 ea: the taste was superb. The corn taco was delicious as well! The cilantro on top was a nice finishing touch. Not local Calamari $11: it was not bad for the price. The taste was what you expected of a calamari dish. The guac and chips were average for $5.5. My wife really liked the guac, and I really disliked the chips. My mom thought the El Gringo Taco was a bit salty. For $4.5, I thought the portion and taste outdid the price by a wide margin. Well I had really high expectations to eat some tocos in the area my wife and I ordered a couple of things to try out mostly tacos Fish, tinga, pastor, chorizo and carne asada my favorite was fish taco crispy fry fish slaw was good , pastor was really dry and hard to chew, chorizo same dry over cooked, chicken tinga just bland and soggy when I try to eat it my tortilla fell apart, asada was ok we did order some margaritas over sweet and they had a funky after taste like when the lemon or lime juice it's old , overall it was pretty pricey I will give it another change to come and try out but not any time soon read more

My favorites are the shrimp tacos and the Turkish wrestler. They also offer great tortas, I highly recommend the choriqueso. The street corn makes for a great side along with the chips and guacamole. The staff is super friendly and will definitely help you out if you need food recommendations. There's outside seating and it's wheelchair accessible. I've had a few tacos in my day and, let me just say, these are some of the best I've ever had. I was a little skeptical going in because, heck, how many ways can you make a taco? But the wonderful chefs at Taco Bamba have done it and done it well. Like a fast food restaurant, you order all your food at the main counter (FYI: one order=one taco) then can take a seat somewhere. There are plenty of tables as well as a bar with seating right in the middle of the room. There's also a really neat salsa bar with enough options to satisfy the person who likes it hot and those who have milder tastes. The food itself is wonderful. Wow wow wow! This restaurant is amazing! It's a nice spot tucked away in a shopping center in Rockville, there is a lot of parking and the service was great. The restaurant itself was chill, no reservation is needed. The food was amazing. We go to taco bamba because my husband is a big fan lol I personally think it is okay. I think the music in there is too loud, it's hard to concentrate, but people seem to love it. We went during dinner time and the place was busy with people dining in and carry out. Service was good. Food was a bit too spicy, so our little one couldn't eat much. The floor plan for ordering can be a little confusing and I suppose the number of people at the register can be quite minimal. The prices are fair and the presentation and taste of the nachos I ordered was good. Visiting from San Diego, my expectations and palette for Mexican food is delicate and high. I finally settled on Pack the Bowl. It definitely lived up to it's name. The bowl contained choice of protein (I ordered shrimp), Bamba power mix (kale, carrots, cabbage, sprouts), sweet corn and black bean quinoa, marinated avocado, cucumber pico de gallo, garlic herb spread, pickled onion and chile, Mexi-trail mix (toasted pumpkin seeds, crispy onions, crushed tortilla chips), salsa verde ranch.
