    Carne asada, pastor and shrimp

So glad this place is back in action after the fire! I think this location better than Rio because it's easier to get to, however there's no difference in the quality of food. Ok maybe the carne asada is better here though. The pastor tacos are the best! Counter service with small tables. There is a fix ins bar with fresh pico, pickled onions and assorted sauces. I have heard the tortas are awesome here too. Nothing fancy but it's always a hit if you have taco cravings.

This place was incredible! I didn't know what to expect, because the yelps from two years ago are so mixed, but with recent yelps being good, we rolled the dice and are so glad we did! Everything was fresh and delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly. We felt like we were part of a family! The meats were all prepared so flavorfully and dished out in generous portion in my street tacos. The happy hour price was an added bonus, and my jamaica fresca was one of the best I've had. We will definitely be going back often!

It's very small and cozy but the food and service are great! I got the carne asada fries and will definitely be getting it again in the future, even my picky toddler enjoyed them.

Our family decided to get take out from taco bar. We decided on the the "buy by the pound option" and ordered 1/2 pound of pollo, 1/2 pound of al pastor and it came with 10 tortillas and an option of salsa as well. I also got 2 sides of rice. The al pastor was so incredibly flavorful and the pineapples added such good flavor. The chicken was a little salty but still very good. The tortillas and the rice were such good quality and tasty! Will definitely come back next time I have a taco craving.

Called 40 mins ago and the lady said that food is going to be ready in 20 mins. Got here and mentioned my name and the lady seem to have not placed my order. So i have to wait another 40 mins and im standing right here writing this review. Please can you fix this! By the way the lady tried her best and thanks for clarifying with the cause of the delay.

The food was good and the price was very affordable. This might be my new taco Tuesday spot! We got a to go order, the guy at the register was nice and friendly too.

How al pastor supposed to be cooked!

Tried it today for the second time. It's a no-go for me. 1. The Al Pastor meat is not supposed to look OR taste like that. I don't even think they know how it's supposed to be properly cooked. Al pastor, also known as tacos al pastor, is a taco made with spit-grilled pork. Cooking method is based on the lamb shawarma brought by Lebanese immigrants to Mexico, al pastor features a flavor palate that uses traditional Mexican marinate adobada. 2. The Suadero was dry. 3. Every taco needs to have different condiments according to the meat. I don't think they know this. They kind of just throw in guac, red salsa, green salsa, pico de Gallo, and a couple of limes and call it a day. That's not how it's done in Mexico. My husband and I gave it a try again since MoCo residents seem to love this place so much, I'm Mexican, raised in San Diego, CA and made many trips across the border just for the street tacos. I don't think I will ever eat here again.

I'm surprised that this Taco Bar location doesn't get as much love as its sibling, Taco Bar II. Yes, it's in Old Town Gaithersburg and not located inside a gas station (those are the best restaurant!). But hey, the food is just as good here! The menu at this location is just a tad cheaper and slightly different. I always get eye hungry when I go to Taco Bar II, so I knew it would be no different here. I wanted to order a half steak torta and pastor taco, but you can only order the whole torta. Bah! So I decided on the steak torta combo which came with a side of fries and a drink. MmMmM just as delicious as I remembered it to be! The bread was warm and crusty. The steak packed a lot of flavor and was nicely fried. The garnishes were fresh. Loved how they were generous with the avocado slices! Next time, I'll ask them to hold the onions. Although I prefer thin fries over steak fries, the fries here were nicely cooked. Not greasy and not overly crispy. Piping hot even when I got home. I also tried a bite of the bistec tacos. The grilled steak was tender and flavorful. They were very generous with the amount of steak placed in the taco that you could make two for the price of one! I also tried a beef taquito. MmMmM deep fried beefy goodness! I liked how the lettuce, cheese, and sour cream came on the side so the taquitos don't get soggy. The salsa bar here doesn't have much variety compared to Taco Bar II, but it still does the trick (lots of compartments were empty). You have your choice of two mild salsas, two hot salsas, pico de gallo, and hot peppers. My favorite was the red hot salsa as both green salsas were somewhat watery. The restaurant itself is rather simple. Several tables and a small TV in the corner playing telenovelas softly in the background. The staff here is extremely friendly and patient. I'll definitely be back for more!

Desgraciadamente tuve que comer ya que necesito mis energías para mi trabajo.SÚPER MALA EXPERIENCIA.!!!

The tacos are really hood but it's a little pricey. They give you little containers for you to get the salsa and the other topics.

I've been coming here for years, and it's one of those places that never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is lively, and you always know you're going to leave happy. I'm originally from Honduras, and one of our staple dishes... arguably THE staple dish... is the baleada. A fresh flour tortilla filled with refried beans, cheese, and crema, with the option to add extras like eggs, avocado, or different meats. I knew this had to be where Kyler experienced his very first baleada. To say it was a success would be an understatement. Kyler isn't the most adventurous eater, so getting his stamp of approval is a pretty big deal. He's officially a fan for life! We were there with my mom, and all three of us ordered some variation of a baleada along with pupusas to share. I also had to introduce Kyler to our version of horchata, which is different from the Mexican horchata he was used to. As an added bonus, we happened to visit during the World Cup, and the energy in the restaurant made the experience even more fun. Between the familiar flavors, sharing a piece of my culture with someone I love, and the consistently great food, this meal ended up being one of the highlights of our trip back to Maryland. If you've never had a baleada before, let La Casita be your introduction. You won't regret it.

It has been a long time since I last had them, and I was excited for my friend to try them. We each got an arepa, and we split tequenos and chicken empanadas... Yes, we were hungry lol. It was JUMPIN' this night! It was a Saturday - they had a DJ, waitresses dressed in matching outfits, and it was packed in there. Disco lights went crazy. Somehow we were able to get a table and sat down to order food. We thought we could get good margaritas here but the only flavor they offered was lime unfortunately. Our food took a really long time to come out but when it did, omg it was worth the wait. It was hot and you could tell everything was fresh and quality. Side note: knowing Spanish will help a lot when coming here. It's a mainly Spanish speaking establishment. Luckily, I'm Latina so I could communicate with the waitress once I noticed her English wasn't strong. All in all, this is a good spot for good Mexican food and late night food. I just give it 4 stars for the lack of cocktails...they didn't have a lot of what showed on the menu (pina coladas, etc.) and for the long wait for food when most people were just drinking at the bar.

While waiting to get it fixed we Found Antojitos, a little Mexican cantina in an older strip mall. It was early aftternoon, and there were several groups of men and families eating and drinking. I sensed that they had been there for awhIle, and intended to stay longer, as if this www how they usual spent their Saturday afternoons. Scanning the menu for something interesting my eyes caught the word Mondongo. Reading the menu details ( in Spanish only) I conFirmed that this was a rich tripe stew. I think my son had a steak and egg burrito. Our meals took a while to arrive. Maybe 20 mInutes. The Mondongo was served in a large bowl. The rich orange broth was brimming with large chunks of glistening honeycomb tripe. I Waac also thrilled to encounter chunks of cartilaginous knuckle bones, and a medley or recognizable and non recognizable fruits and vegetables. First, the broth. It was rich with Umami suggesting hours of boiling down pigs feet and knuckle bones. It had a tomato background, but also tasted of pumpkin, and even roasted pumpkinseeds. There was a hint of masa harina reminiscent of tamales. I couldn't identify the other flavors, maybe star anise or allspice. There were big chunks of yuccaa, and plantain slices skin and all. There was some green, maybe chayote. But the Honeycomb Tripe. The three times washed washed cow's stomach was soft and soothing. For the FIRST TIME EVER, I enjoyed a bowl of stomach without any odor or flavor of offal. I keep trying without success to replicate that recipe. Fortunately we have another soccer tournament in two weeks. I'll be back. Jim L
