i never really write reviews but our service was really not great today. the food was good but our server gave us kind of an attitude the whole time and kept giving us dirty looks whenever we would ask for something (like a fork to eat our food with). she also messed up our orders and we just had to deal with it too. we just seemed like an inconvenience to her the whole time which is really unfortunate because the restaurant has a really cute atmosphere and the food was tasty. read more

We've passed this place several times but have never stopped in, not quite sure why because it is really is a great place! We were greeted seconds upon entering by several of the staff. Came here on Taco Tuesday around 6/7. It was really crowded and service was meh. But it's crowded, what do you expect? Our server was clearly busy, but also made the effort to apologize for making us wait and she was sincere so I appreciated it. Chips and salsa when you are seated. Tacos were freshly made. I have been taking my family to the Bellflower blvd location for few years, great food and very nice servers. On Friday 5/10/19 I had a great server named Maegan. She was on point, so nice and attentive to our needs. I tried to call the manager and was referred to the pine ave location. I made 3 calls over 4 days. Beatrice after 11 days still has not reached out to me so I can praise Maegan who was constantly hustling to all the tables she was taking care of. With all the Mexican food in southern California, you probably should avoid the chains. However, this place is good. Every time I've ate there, it was not crowded. Service was friendly and fast. The food was plentiful and good as well. There are multiple TV screens which seem to cater to the sports crowd. I'll go back since they are cheap. read more

The ambiance is great. Lots of tv's and bar space with multiple tap handles on rotation. The staff service was very friendly and professional. The restaurant was clean and fresh. We ordered the carnitas and shrimp tacos that were accompanied with complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were warm and the green salsa was tasty. The carnitas were very flavorful and definitely seemed to be a family recipe. The mexican rice and refried beans were great as well. As a huge plus they make their tortillas in house! Such a great difference. The shrimp tacos ordered were both spicy and flavorful! The fresh tortillas again made a huge difference. We came here for lunch and had a tostada salad with my mom. The tostada "salads" had barely any lettuce on them. Also, salads aren't supposed to be liquidy. The salads were both really mushy. It made us both sick. Music was way too loud we had to raise our voices to hear each other. The music was loud heavy rock, during lunch time! VERY disturbing. Gave us headaches! The waitress seemed to be rushed for us to leave, she didn't ask us how the food was or if we wanted dessert. She just put down the check, hardly saying anything. Went with a friend to satisfy my taco craving! Ordered the Cali taco, a shrimp taco, and fish taco. All made with handmade tortillas and even offer puffy tacos (delish). My favorite was the shrimp; tender, succulent and full of flavor. The Cali tacos are not all that special definitely try something different you will be impressed. Went here cause I was in the mood for tacos however; I did not feel up to driving down to 2nd street to Taco Surf. Overall this was a good experience. The restaurant has good service, we were greeting and seating upon entering the establishment which was nice. The menu had a great selection and everything seemed so tasty. I ended up ordering a burrito. It took about 15 minutes from the time I ordered to the time I received my food, which was not bad due to the fact they give you chips and salsa which wasn't bad - I have had better but these were not bad. The salsa is a little to thin, I prefer thicker/chunky. Overall the quality and quantity of the food I received was well worth the money. The burrito tasted good and I would order it again however not my number one favorite ever. I would definitely return to try more if Second street is busy and detours me from 2nd st. After I got in and looked at the menu, I saw the prices are sky high. However, by that time I was hungry and did not want to drive aimlessly around looking for somewhere else, so I decided to pay the extra bucks. Other reviewers have complained about the service, but I didn't notice anything wrong. I was greeted immediately upon arrival. Admittedly, I only ordered take out, but the transaction was uneventful. The food did taste decent but not great. You do get a few extras, that is part of the reason the for the high prices. For example, I ordered a bean and cheese burrito. It comes wet, which usually jacks up the price a buck or two, and you get guacamole and sour cream. However the price was still higher than I thought it should be. Their mainstay is tacos and they did list some flavors that were different. I did not try them, though. The place has TVs plastered everywhere, and there is plenty of space, so it is a great place to go for sporting events. They were gearing up for FIFA when I went. Will I come back? Maybe. It will depend on if I'm in a carefree mood and don't mind that I'm paying $2-$3 extra dollars. read more

I have, been to taco beach a few times. I love the service, food portions for the price are generous!. It is a neighborhood restaurant, bar so a little busy, noisy. I was not bothered. When, I was eating, with friends and wanting a quieter , environment we dined outside for conversation, and calmer dining experience. I love, that as soon as you enter , no matter how busy you are promptly seated, served chips , and water/ beverage while waiting. My only complaint, would be that it seems to take a long time for the server, to run your credit/ bank card , bring back card and receipt. And one time double charged me. Been here a bunch of times and love everything about it! Especially the happy hour, taste of the food, the friendly wait staff, price of food and the amount you get for the price, the chips and salsa, and the vast amount of televisions. The burritos are pretty good here and so are the margaritas. Especially if you go on Mondays, you get the big margarita for the price of the small. Stopped into Taco beach for some food and a drink and I was delighted with tasty Baja tacos and a extra cold beverage. I like the fact they keep their glasses in a freezer. It definitely helps keep the drink colder longer. Megan was my server and she did an over the top job! Quick to greet me as I sat down she recommended the exact beer I was thinking and also put me on to the Baja style tacos! Excellent choices. I was very impressed with the service.
