The service truly stood out--everyone was patient, helpful, and made sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. The food was beyond delicious. You can tell everything is made fresh and with quality ingredients. Every bite was full of flavor, and the portions were great for the price. What I appreciated most is how inclusive the menu is. As someone who follows a vegan lifestyle, it can sometimes be difficult to find places with good options--but this spot really delivered. They offer a variety of vegan choices that are not just an afterthought, but actually well-prepared and full of flavor. It's rare to find a place that gets both food and service this right. Whether you're vegan or not, there's something here for everyone to enjoy. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family. If you're thinking about trying it, don't hesitate--you won't be disappointed!

We've had Taco Shop before when it catered a graduation party we attended, and really liked it…read more Today we had carryout - steak and chicken tacos, and a chicken burrito platter. The meat is high quality and nicely cooked. Rice and beans were very good as well. The thing we missed was more flavor and heat!! I'd love to get a little heat from jalapenos or spices, but it was not there. The salsa was not too hot either. We're not heat freaks by any means, but we do love some spice in our Mexican food. The burrito also had rice in it so my side of rice was probably not needed. All in all the food is good and high quality. What I'd love to have is more flavor and heat!!

On a rainy Thursday night, we finally had a chance to check it out because we wanted a quick and easy meal before heading to the Art exhibition opening in the Northbrook Public Library close by. The restaurant was not busy at the time. There was only 1 table occupied. After we settled down, there was another small table taken. Our waitress was friendly, but after she brought the Miller Light for my husband and a draft beer "Fist City" for our daughter, she forgot about my lemonade. I had to remind her when she brought our food. She also just brought 1 Fish Taco when my daughter ordered 2, and had to place another order again. Not a big deal. When we left and passed by her, she didn't say anything like thank you or good bye, just looking at us. It was a little awkward. Well, maybe she's just not very outgoing. Hope that I was not expecting too much from a little eatery. Now on to the tacos. There were hits and misses. The Crispy Avocado Taco was very good! It's my first time tasting fried avocado, crispy and flavorful! I would order that again! However, the lamb in the Lamb Carnitas Taco was bland and rather dry. it's the first time that I ever had lamb that had no flavor. Although the mango slaw had a nice crunch, tart and refreshing, and went well with the lamb meat, it was skimpy and not enough to top all the meat. I joked to my husband that maybe that's the taste of munching on cardboard! I don't like to waste food and I wasn't full, but I could not continue eating, and had to waste half of the lamb taco. Husband thought that his Blackened Salmon Taco was OK, but his Steak Taco was not, since every bite of steak had gristle. He was surprised since that was supposed to be their signature taco. Daughter's 2 Fish tacos were good, except that she didn't like the flour taco shells. She prefers corn taco shells. My lamb taco had corn taco shells (2 layers) and the crispy avocado had flour shells. I love supporting local businesses and really planned to give Eataco 5 stars before we came, but had to deduct 1 star after we dined in. However, when I read more reviews afterward and found that many customers enjoyed the 2 bottles of salsa (1 green and 1 red) that came with the tacos, and we had no condiments of any kind on our table. Should I had a bottle of salsa, the Lamb Carnitas would have been edible. Unfortunately, I had to deduct another star. Our overall experience at Eataco was not bad, it took us only 55 minutes for the meal. It fits the bill when you need something quick and simple.

They are changing name to El Poblanito per ads on the pizza box. Will they serve only Mexican food? Will they still continue to serve custom pizza? Anyhow, decided to check out their menu. They had the lunch special 10" pizza with 2 custom toppings with soda for $9.99. Even though it's 4pm, their online portal still let you order it so I did. I think they should continue this glitch because i would be that customer that continues to order this way. The check out process is through Slice, and they generated a text message and email receipt. Don't be surprised to see a "support local fee", which I'm perfectly happy to pay extra for. They use Apple Pay also, so pretty convenient. Text tells you when the order will be ready and you get another text for when it's ready for pick up. The pizza is pretty standard and generic. Everything tasted fresh and what you would expect. The ham is very thin, likely just sandwich deli cuts. Pineapple chunks are large and intact, though I probably would've preferred the pineapple to be more burnt than just warmed but it retained juice well when it's not over cooked. Nothing too special about the cheese, not high-grade mozzarella just regular ones. Dough is not high gluten so it's not very chewy, which is fine for the kids, the prefer it not too much chew. The pizza is not too greasy so the bottom is not too charred. The crust is not ultra thin, so about half an inch. Overall very standard fast food pizza you'd expect. It's pretty standard for the price for a lunch special too. I think having this lunch special option is pretty attractive, because I would probably continue to order ham/pineapple and will also try Italian beef/giardiniera combos.

I was torn between a chicken mole dinner or just good old tacos. I opted for the tacos Al pastor with rice and beans. I have had Al pastor at many, many places, and it's been interesting to see people's takes on the recipes. These were, hands down, the best I've had anywhere. The meat was charred nicely, yet tender. The marinade/sauce had the perfect balance between the sweetness of the pineapple and the counterbalance of the lime, cilantro, and onion. I was so proud of my selection, that I ordered some to-go for my daughter to try. I also had a delicious strawberry margarita and finished off with a tres leches dessert. Everything was superb! I'll be back for that mole someday, and will also try their Taco Tuesday. Judging from my food, as well as the presentations of others choices that I noticed, I believe their chef is seriously talented and creative.
